It’s tough to top a good cast reunion, especially after so many years. One that definitely brings back some memories is that of the kids from Mrs. Doubtfire – Mara Wilson, Matthew Lawrence and Lisa Jakub – who recently got together for a mini reunion more than 30 years after appearing in the hit comedy.
Taking to Threads, Jakub – who played oldest sister Lydia Hillard – wrote, “We had a little reunion…30 years later and my Mrs. Doubtfire family still feels like family.” She also posted on Instagram, also noting it was part of the Lawrence Brothers’ Brotherly Love Podcast: “The sisters had so much fun hanging out with the brothers. @marawilson and @matthewlawrence still feel like my siblings- even 30 years after filming Mrs Doubtfire.”
Even though Mrs. Doubtfire took in more than $120 million domestically and was one of the highest-grossing movies of 1993, it never received a sequel, so this reunion between the...

A Mrs. Doubtfire star is sharing how the late Robin Williams went above and beyond for her, both on and off-screen.
On a recent episode of the Brotherly Love podcast, alongside her Mrs. Doubtfire co-stars Mara Wilson and Matthew Lawrence, Lisa Jakub, who played Lydia Hillard in the hit 1993 comedy, recalled Williams coming to her defense regarding an issue at her school.
Jakub said she was still attending high school in Canada while away for four months, filming Mrs. Doubtfire. “We were going to set up this system, pre-internet, where I’d mail my school work back and forth to the school. We did that for a while,” she explained.
“As Matt well remembers, we had tutoring, three hours of schoolwork on set every day,” the actress continued. “We were a couple of months into filming, and my school in Canada sent a note saying, ‘This isn’t working for us anymore,...

Exclusive: After declaring in a Deadline guest column that he would boycott the SXSW Opening Night debut of Road House, director Doug Liman has changed his mind, and is in the Paramount Theatre right at this moment. I’m told that Liman won’t take the stage to introduce the movie, he’ll just be in the crowd watching. It’s a tradition for him, slipping into theaters and watching how his movies play.
Liman made the difficult decision to stay away because he felt that Amazon MGM signed him to a deal that called for a theatrical release of Road House, but instead switched and is launching the film directly on the Amazon Prime streaming service, beginning March 21. Producer Joel Silver also exited the premises in a dispute that has become a bare knuckle brawl in the press. In Liman’s column, he said even though Road House tested...

Paris Fashion Week is in full swing, and fashionistas are taking notes. So far, one of the week’s prominent trends is “office siren.” A notable boardroom babe was spotted at Dior’s fall 2024 runway presentation on February 27. Jennifer Lawrence made business casual sexy as she entered the runway show.

The trailer for "X-Men '97," the revival of the cartoon series beloved by '90s kids everywhere, recently premiered. That means it's that time again — that time when nerds like me try to get you superhero movie/TV fans to read some dang comics.
"X-Men" itself was enthusiastic about adapting comic stories, particularly ones written by Chris Claremont during his legendary 17-year-long run on "X-Men". Season 1 of "X-Men" closed out with the two-part time-travel comic "Days of Future Past" and then, in season 3, the show adapted both the original "Phoenix Saga" and "The Dark Phoenix Saga."
Larry Houston, the original producer/director of "X-Men," is a big fan of the comics and made the show with attention to the details of the source material. Houston is back as a consulting producer on "X-Men '97" and head writer Beau DeMayo recruited "X-Men" fans as his team, feeling that enthusiasm about the...

While Sydney Sweeney’s recent collaboration with Sony has been up to a rough start at the Box-office, unlike Madame Web, things have been smooth for her previous Sony release. Even though mainstream rom-com releases are a rarity these days, with Hollywood prioritizing IP-driven releases in recent years, Anyone but You was a breath of fresh air for fans.

The co-creator and showrunner of Amazon Studios’ Mr. & Mrs. Smith just confirmed what everyone already suspected about the show’s ending.
The finale saw Donald Glover and Maya Erskine’s titular spies gridlocked in a deathmatch (one that was the product of some big misunderstandings), only for it to get interrupted by a rival couple ordered to terminate them both.
In the episode’s final moments, all audiences see are some gunshots—leaving viewers in the dark as to the ending fate for everyone involved.

The producers and key creatives behind the Live Aid musical Just for One Day, which officially opened Tuesday night at the Old Vic, have banded together to ensure that 10 percent of every ticket sold goes to the Band Aid Charitable Trust established by Bob Geldof and others to help relieve the hunger and poverty in Ethiopia.
The trust also can expect more funds pouring into its coffers if and when the show transfers from the Old Vic into the West End — and possibly to Broadway, where its capitalization will be many times more than the approximately £6 million ($7.6 million) it cost to develop and stage in London.

It wasn’t long ago that Leslie Fhima got her heart broken on The Golden Bachelor.
She thought she was “the one” Gerry Turner would give his final rose and propose to, but he had a last-minute change of heart and chose Theresa Nist instead.
The Golden Bachelor viewers thought Leslie dodged a bullet after one of Gerry’s ex-girlfriends dropped a bombshell – right before finale night.
And she may have because Leslie has been living it up lately.
She even returned to Costa Rica last month and reclaimed the country where she was dumped on reality TV.
Now, she’s rubbing elbows with celebrities and attending events that she likely wouldn’t have if not for The Golden Bachelor.

There isn’t a conventional sound or image to be found in Robert Altman’s McCabe & Mrs. Miller, which exhilaratingly upends the audience’s senses, engaging one in a free-floating fashion that’s more in sync with the emotional effect of art with less intermediary filters than cinema, such as theater and live music. When McCabe (Warren Beatty) enters a bar in the early 1900s-era town of Presbyterian Church, stirring up the locals with his man-of-mystery routine, the filmmaker doesn’t drop accommodating and insidiously distancing breadcrumbs for the viewer, framing images so that they telegraph precise and unsurprisingly expository information.
Instead, this and other potentially standard-issue western scenes are charged with a jazz-like pulse of controlled spontaneity that would become an Altman trademark. We know as much as the bar denizens, and we’re encouraged to sort the setting and the protagonist out for ourselves. Vilmos Zsigmond’s camera prowls the bar for 10 minutes,...

Though it’s based on a 2005 movie of the same name, Prime Video’s Mr. and Mrs. Smith is something that’s increasingly rare these days: an honest-to-goodness TV show. The Donald Glover and Francesca Sloane-created spy thriller understands the required rhythms of its medium very well. Each episode presents a self-contained chapter within the dangerous marriage of John (Glover) and Jane Smith (Maya Erskine) while also subtly forwarding their overall story.
The commitment to the usual TV format also means that Mr. and Mrs. Smith gets to introduce one hell of a roster of guest stars. Save for its finale, every episode of this show features at least one stupendously talented and famous guest star. If you’re wondering who each of these guest stars are or where you’ve previously seen them: don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. What follows is a list of the Mr. and Mrs. Smith cast,...

Maria Georgas is getting the villain edit on Season 28 of The Bachelor.
She’s been bold from the beginning, demanding screentime and Joey’s attention.
That’s something that is clearly starting to rub others the wrong way.
It certainly didn’t help when Maria switched out of her wedding dress on last week’s episode and into “something comfortable.”
Her outfit change shocked Joey and the other women because it showed a lot of skin and proved she was there to be seen.
This week, Maria is in the hot seat because one of her Bachelor co-stars just won’t stop calling her out, and based on what we’ve seen, we can’t help but wonder which one of them is really the bully.

That’s because they’ll be appearing on the upcoming episode of The Bachelor to help Joey Graziadei find love.
For those who don’t remember The Golden Bachelor’s mean girls, they actually called themselves Askn as they absolutely missed the opportunity to call themselves Snak instead.
We’re talking about April Kirkwood, Susan Noles, Kathy Swarts, and Nancy Hulkower — who became fast friends while staying together in the mansion and looking for love themselves.
So they know a little bit about what these ladies are going through.
And they’re also well-acquainted with the drama that can kick up in such a competitive environment.

British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn’s helmed a gonzo fantasy with a cross-dressing Robert De Niro, a vigilante superhero flick with a foul-mouthed, killer kid, and a delirious spin on Bond with Colin Firth. But Argylle, his $200 million globe-trotting espionage thriller, has proven to be his most divisive film yet.
The film follows Elly Conway (Bryce Dallas Howard), a novelist/homebody whose series of spy books about Aubrey Argylle (Henry Cavill) have captured the public’s imagination. One day, she encounters an actual superspy, Aidan (Sam Rockwell), on a train who...

Mr. & Mrs. Smith definitely didn’t surpass expectations, it mostly left us with question marks for expressions because of how lackluster the show really was. I suppose you could say there are some good parts; you’ve got beautiful sets and some fun fashion choices, but most importantly, a bunch of cameos that are meant to enhance the show considering how dull it is otherwise. Not to say that Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are incapable of holding our attention, but it’s probably a mix of the writing and the pacing of this show that had me completely bored by the end of it. And, no, even these incredible special appearances did not pique my interest in any way. However, they do add a little bit of fun, even if briefly, to the mostly tedious show. Mr. & Mrs. Smith follows spies in this new spyverse, where there is...

Plot: Two lonely strangers land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travel, and a dream brownstone in Manhattan. The catch? Their complex cover story becomes even more complicated when they catch real feelings for each other. What’s riskier: espionage or marriage?
Review: The 2005 film, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, was one of the top-grossing films of the year despite mixed reviews. Written by Simon Kinberg and directed by Doug Liman, the movie was bolstered by the real-life romance between stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. The tabloid fodder of that relationship was free marketing for the film which was a mediocre action comedy about a married couple...

Even by the standards of a Hollywood ecosystem where everything is IP, and IP is everything, the idea of adapting a TV show from Mr. & Mrs. Smith seemed odd. The 2005 action-comedy exists in the pop-culture memory less as a movie (though it’s excellent) than as the origin story of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s relationship. Remaking it without them would be like rebooting Top Gun without Tom Cruise,...

In the last episode of Peacock’s Mrs. Davis, Simone (Betty Gilpin) finally gets to the truth behind the seemingly omnipotent algorithm of the title. But whatever dramatic origin story Simone might have expected, she doesn’t get it. Instead, she discovers that what Mrs. Davis has really been all this time … is a Buffalo Wild Wings app wildly overdelivering on its customer service directive.
The reveal is so hilariously, gob-smackingly stupid that even Simone, who’s spent the series trying to destroy Mrs. Davis, looks a little crushed. But it also feels perfectly apt for the year of ChatGPT and OpenAI. As the AI-driven future once only imagined in sci-fi inched toward mainstream reality, shows like Mrs. Davis, Black Mirror and A Murder at the End of the World leaned in for a closer look — and discovered not some sleek and shiny panacea, but our own human foibles reflected back at us.

With each passing year, cataloguing the best TV shows of the previous 365 days becomes harder and harder. That which we call “television” is such an enormous, broad concept that it seems impossible to even categorize it, let alone rank it in a neat fashion. Basically any TV show you could ever dream of can be found with the right combination of cable packages and streaming subscriptions.
Want the best video game adaptation ever? Boom. It’s done. Feel like watching a bespoke eight-episode saga that brings the works of Edgar Allan Poe to the present day for a political horror satire about the opioid epidemic? Off to Netflix you go. What about a cartoonish dramedy featuring a nun overcoming the trauma of losing her Las Vegas magician father by finding the literal holy grail to turn off a world-ruling artificial intelligence? You’re gonna have to try harder than that to trick the algorithm.

Director Sam Taylor-Johnson’s Amy Winehouse biopic Back to Black will open in U.S. theaters on May 10, 2024. Industry‘s Marisa Abela stars as the iconic singer who tragically passed away at the age of 27 on July 23, 2011.
The cast also includes Jack O’Connell (Ferrari), Eddie Marsan (Fair Play), and Lesley Manville (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris).
“My connection to Amy began when I left college and was hanging out in the creatively diverse London borough of Camden. I got a job at the legendary Koko Club, and I can still breathe every market stall, vintage shop, and street… A few years later Amy wrote her searingly honest songs whilst living in Camden. Like with me, it became part of her DNA,” said director Taylor-Johnson.

Back to Black: Amy Winehouse biopic starring Marisa Abela as the iconic songbird gets a release date
“Life is short. Anything could happen, and it usually does, so there is no point in sitting around thinking about all the ifs, ands, and buts. Everyone knows that there’s certain things that aren’t good for you, but there’s a fine line between enjoying yourself and being completely healthy,” Amy Winehouse once said before being taken from this world far too soon. On the back of those words to live by, I’m thrilled to report Focus Features‘ Amy Winehouse biopic, Back to Black, has a release date in the U.S. on May 10, 2024.
Back to Black is a never-before-seen glimpse into Amy Winehouse‘s early rise to fame and the release of her groundbreaking studio album, Back to Black. Told from Amy’s perspective, the film is an unapologetic look at the woman behind the phenomenon and the relationship that inspired one of the most legendary albums of all time.

Donald Glover and Maya Erskine are well known for their comedy work, and they put that to good use in the trailer for Mr. & Mrs. Smith.
The eight-episode series, a reimagining of the 2005 Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt flick, will touch down on Prime Video early next year.
While there are similarities to that movie, the series adaptation is taking things in a different direction.
Carbon copies rarely work, and Glover and Erskine will play "two lonely strangers land jobs working for a mysterious spy agency that offers them a glorious life of espionage, wealth, world travel, and a dream brownstone in Manhattan," according to the logline.

[This story contains spoilers from the season finale of Frasier, “Reindeer Games.”]
As the credits roll on the season finale of the Frasier revival, Kelsey Grammer as Dr. Frasier Crane — the role he originated 39 years ago on Cheers — frustratedly conducts a string quartet of not-yet-classically trained child musicians through a rendition of “Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs.” How a bunch of kids ended up performing the series theme song is a classic Frasier conundrum.
In the episode, “Reindeer Games,” a series of mix-ups ensue as Crane “frasiers” hosting an elegant holiday dinner party (yes, “frasier” becomes a verb in this episode). The problem: He’s mistakenly hired an elementary school string quartet, ordered 24 Christmas trees and a live goose, and made the egg nog so thick that one of guests asks, “Is this flan?”
The comedic timing of each mishap plays like an orchestra, thanks to Grammer’s stellar directing. “Reindeer Games” is the third episode he’s helmed for the Paramount+ revival series,...

Yet, amidst the laughter and poignant moments, there was a curiosity that lingered: why was this film, which flirted with mature content, deemed PG-13 rather than R? A new NYPD detective will be joining the force on the upcoming 23rd season of Law & Order. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Veep alum Reid Scott has joined the upcoming season as a new series regular on the NBC police procedural, portraying an as-yet unamed NYPD detective.
Scott will feel the void left by former series regular Jeffrey Donovan, who recently exited the show over creative differences. Donovan portrayed Det. Frank Cosgrove in seasons 21 and 22 of the mothership Law & Order drama from Dick Wolf’s Wolf Entertainment.
This marks the second detective change on the revival. Anthony Anderson, who reprised his role as Det. Kevin Bernard from the series’ original run, left after Season 21 and was succeeded by Mehcad Brooks, who joined the cast in Season 22 as Frank’s new partner Jalen Shaw.
The Law & Order cast also includes Sam Waterston as Da Jack McCoy, Hugh Dancy as senior prosecutorial assistant Nolan Price, and Camryn Manheim (The Practice) as Lt. Kate Dixon.
Law & Order, which premieres its 23rd season on January 18, 2024, is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
Scott recently starred in the fifth and final season of Emmy-winning The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel after recurring in Season 4. He can currently be seen starring in the “Daphne” episode of FX anthology series American Horror Stories. He earlier starred on another Emmy-winning comedy, HBO’s Veep, for seven seasons. Scott just wrapped production on the Amazon film Idea of You, starring opposite Anne Hathaway and directed by Michael Showalter. Reid also stars in, and executive produced the pandemic comedy Who Invited Charlie? opposite Adam Palley and Jordana Brewster, as well as the comedy ensemble Wildflower. Scott is repped by Gersh, Impression Entertainment and Ggssc.

Robin Williams improvised so much dialogue while shooting Mrs. Doubtfire that the movie used up 2 million feet of film, according to its director Chris Columbus.
“Early on in the process, [Williams] went to me, ‘Hey boss, the way I like to work, if you’re up for it, is I’ll give you three or four scripted takes, and then let’s play,’” Columbus said in a new interview with Business Insider commemorating the film’s 30th anniversary. “By saying that, what he meant was he wanted to improvise. And that’s exactly how we shot every scene. We would have exactly what was scripted, and then Robin would go off and it was something to behold.”
Williams ad-libbed so much on the set of the 1993 comedy — in which he plays a newly-divorced actor digsuising himself as an elderly female housekeeper — that there were “several occasions” where he used up all...

It’s been nine years since we said goodbye to Robin Williams, who left behind a highlight reel of hilarious scenes and moments of impassioned drama. And no compilation would be complete without any number of clips from 1993’s Mrs. Doubtfire, which, probably for the better, never got a sequel despite being a hit with audiences, proving to be the #2 movie worldwide that year behind Jurassic Park.
As director Chris Columbus put it, “It’s an interesting thing. Back then, there was an attitude that sequels were looked down upon by the artists. So Robin was against doing a sequel immediately after.” Perhaps surprisingly, Williams only ever did a few sequels in his entire career: a Dtv Aladdin one, Happy Feet Two and a pair for Night at the Museum.

Robin Williams was known to be a talent in improvisation and Mrs. Doubtfire director Chris Columbus is opening up about working with the late actor.
In a new interview to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the comedy, Columbus said that Williams improvised so much on set “We shot almost 2 million feet of film on that picture.”
“Early on in the process, he went to me, ‘Hey boss, the way I like to work, if you’re up for it, is I’ll give you three or four scripted takes, and then let’s play,'” Columbus told Business Insider. “By saying that, what he meant was he wanted to improvise.
