Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone success gave him a special position within the television industry. He is currently serving as the creator of at least six big television productions, including the final season of his breakthrough series. Sheridan doesn’t handle the load very well as he revealed to Joe Rogan about his hectic work schedule that gave him just 4 hours of sleep for months.

Taylor Sheridan is taking the world by storm thanks to his to his Yellowstone series and its prequels. However, the extremely talented director has many other projects under his belt including the 2021 action thriller Those Who Wish Me Dead starring Angelina Jolie. The film revolves around the story of Finn Little’s Connor who is on the run from assassins after witnessing his father’s death.
Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)
Connor then finds himself with Angelina Jolie’s Hannah, a wildland firefighter, who does all that she can to keep him safe. Needless to say, there are a ton of adrenaline-pumping action scenes in the film and while Angelina Jolie is no stranger to stunts, her young co-star sure was. Luckily, he had the perfect coach and the perfect co-star to help him through it all.

The beloved Tom Hanks flick, Forrest Gump, which narrates the tale of a sweet but simple-minded common man who unintentionally finds himself at the center of significant moments in American history, is commemorating its 30th anniversary this summer.
Robert Zemeckis’ directorial was one of the biggest hits of the 1990s, no doubt. It took home six Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Director. It makes sense that audiences find comfort in the story of the slow-witted man who never loses sight of his true love, Jenny (Robin Wright). Truly, what a work!… Well, not really.

Yes, beneath the catchy quotes and Hanks’ remarkable emulation of the character, Forrest Gump is actually a surprisingly heartless film that presents an optimistic exterior.

Hulu’s list of new releases for May 2024 is missing a certain amount of original series firepower. In the place of a blockbuster like The Handmaid’s Tale or Shōgun, however, is some content diversity.
The first of the month sees the premiere of four-episode British series Shardlake. This mystery drama takes place during the reign of Henry VIII and features none other than Thomas Cromwell (Sean Bean) investigating a murder. Other series of note this month include the Korean drama Uncle Samsik on May 15.
Movies are bit more interesting on Hulu in May. Teen comedy Prom Dates premieres on May 3. That will be followed by the 2023 Adam Drive film Ferrari on May 24. Before all that though is the real heavy hitter. You can watch Austin Butler’s acclaimed performance as The King in Elvis as early as May 1. The month is a prime time to have Disney+, what with the ongoing and buzzy success of “X-Men 97” and upcoming “Marvel Studios’ Assembled” going behind the scenes of the reboot series. May is of course the month of Star Wars, and the House of Mouse will celebrate with “Star Wars: Tales of the Empire” on May 4. Disney is also home to BBC America’s “Doctor Who,” which returns for a highly-anticipated 14th season with Ncuti Gatwa stepping into the Tardis as the new Doctor (he stepped into the role in December 2023 as part of the series’ beloved Christmas special tradition).

Looks like 2024 is the year of the “Bullet Train” actor Brad Pitt. The odds have been in his favor as he kept gaining victory upon victory over his ex-wife Angelina Jolie.
After the former couple tied the knot in 2014 and split two years later, their divorce procedure was nothing to write home about as it was such a bitter experience for both of them.
When they finally finalized their divorce in 2019, the battle for who takes full custody of their children began.
In May 2021, The “World War Z” actor won 50-50 joint legal and physical custody of his children which he shares with the “Maleficent” actress. The children have been living with Jolie in her $25 million Los Angeles mansion.
Recently, a source told “InTouch Weekly” that Shiloh, who will soon turn 18 in May, wants to relocate to her dad’s $8 million mansion in Los Feliz, California.

Netflix rang in 2024 with a huge opening week for its series Fool Me Once.
The thriller based on a novel by Harlan Coben scored better than 3 billion minutes of viewing in the week of Jan. 1-7, easily leading Nielsen’s streaming charts for the week (it premiered on New Year’s Day). The series had the biggest single week for any streaming show since August, when Suits (with a much higher episode count) brought in 3.24 billion minutes of viewing.
Fool Me Once had more than twice the viewing total of the second-place show, Reacher. The Prime Video series continued its strong second season, racking up 1.38 billion minutes of watch time for the week that episode six premiered. Nielsen also revised Reacher’s totals for the previous two weeks after correcting an issue related to audio capture for Prime Video shows: It drew about 1.4 billion minutes each week, pushing its total...

Nearly six months after its release, and perfectly timed to its powerful awards momentum, Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” (Universal), now renting for $5.99 ahead of its unannounced Peacock debut, repeats as #1 at iTunes and Google Play this week.
Both platforms rank by transactions. “Trolls Band Together,” also Universal and still renting at $19.99, is #1 at Vudu, where revenue determines the top 10. They list “Oppenheimer” #3, tops among lower-priced entries, reinforcing its draw. “Trolls” is second at iTunes, #5 at Google Play.
“Society of the Snow,” a stealth Oscar contender from Spain director J.A. Bayona, is #2 at Netflix — besting its high-profile originals “Maestro” and “May December,” both of which ranked for only a few days and at lower positions.
“Snow,” which is Spain’s Oscar submission, is following the path of “All Quiet on the Western Front” last year as a non-English language success on the platform. It’s just behind “The Equalizer 3” for the second week,...

Before being successfully assassinated, he tells his son, Connor, how he is a forensic accountant who finds things that do not add up. After he dies, Connor is left on the run with nowhere to go as two hitmen scour the area in hopes of finding him and his father’s secrets, which are scribbled down on scraps of paper.

Angelina Jolie told the Wall Street Journal Magazine that she probably would not become an actor if she was just starting out in the industry in 2023. She’d consider acting on the stage, perhaps, but certainly not a life and career in Hollywood.
“I wouldn’t be an actress today,” the Oscar-winner said. “When I was starting out, it wasn’t as much of an expectation to be as public, to share so much.”
Being under intense public scrutiny for well over two decades has seemingly taken its toll on Jolie, who found herself even more of a tabloid target after she divorced Brad Pitt seven years ago. The stress got so bad that she noticed in 2018, during the filming of her Disney sequel “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” that her voice had changed registers from when she first played the fairy tale villain.

Steven Zaillian is one of Hollywood’s most successful screenwriters. Unlike several other screenwriters who began as directors, producers, and/or editors, Zaillian gained recognition as a screenwriter. His award-winning scripts have made him one of the most sought-after writers in American cinema. Over the years, Steven Zaillian has collaborated with several other screenwriters on popular, successful films. His collaborated screenplays include 1996 Mission: Impossible (where he provided the story), Hannibal (2001), Gangs of New York (2002), The Interpreter (2005), Moneyball (2011), Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021), and HBO’s 2016 miniseries The Night Of. You might recognize Taylor Sheridan from his role as David Hale on "Sons of Anarchy" or Travis Wheatley in Paramount+'s "Yellowstone," but the actor's work on screen is arguably not as impressive as the stacked résumé of films and television shows that he has written.
Sheridan began acting in the 1990s and took on a number of small roles in various TV shows and movies throughout the remainder of the decade into the 2000s. But his career as an actor never quite took off, which is when he discovered his talent and passion for screenwriting. After writing the pilot for "Mayor of Kingstown" in 2011, he knew that's exactly what he was meant to do. "I was a fair actor, but that's all I was ever going to be," Sheridan told The Hollywood Reporter in a June 2023 interview. "Hollywood will tell you what you're supposed to do if you listen.

There’s a lot to watch on Prime Video in October and, as you may have guessed, there’s spooky stuff galore in amongst Prime’s usual rotation of extensive library content.
In the movie Totally Killer, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina star Kiernan Shipka travels back in time to the 1980s to stop a serial killer. Then there’s Make Me Scream, a Halloween special that challenges celebrities to “a gruesome game of terror.” Renfield will also be streaming on the service for anyone who’s been dying (muahahaha!) to catch the Nic Cage Dracula film.
Outside of Prime Video’s more creepy fare, Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will debut, Upload will be back for a third season, and new film Awareness should scratch your sci-fi itch. Meanwhile, for Frasier heads – those who consider themselves utterly Frasier-pilled – all eleven seasons of the Cheers spinoff show will be streaming at the touch of a button.

Angelina Jolie has started choosing the roles she takes in movies based on the commitment she needs to make to a feature. The actress recently told Vogue in a new cover story that she began accepting less roles “seven years ago, only taking jobs that didn’t require long shoots.”
The reason, she explained, was that she needed to work on herself — especially amid her contentious divorce from Brad Pitt. “We had a lot of healing to do,” she said, inexplicably speaking in the plural. “We’re still finding our footing.

Angelina Jolie told Vogue magazine that she started doing less film work “seven years ago, only taking jobs that didn’t require long shoots.” Why? “We had a lot of healing to do. We’re still finding our footing,” she said. The Oscar winner did not go into specifics, but the timeline of Jolie’s film hiatus coincides with the end of her marriage to Brad Pitt. She filed for divorce seven years ago in September 2016 after an alleged physical altercation with Pitt took place on a plane.
Jolie said that she feels a “bit down these days,” before revealing: “I don’t feel like I’ve been myself for a decade, in a way. Which I don’t want to get into.”
After leading Disney’s successful tentpole “Maleficent” in 2014 and directing and co-starring opposite Pitt in the 2015 flop “By the Sea,” Jolie’s film output took a significant pause.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s relationship came to an end after Jolie filed for divorce in 2016. The end of their marriage took an emotional toll on both, with Pitt fully expecting their break-up to bleed into his work.

Jolie cited irreconcilable differences with Pitt as the initial reason for the divorce. The two met each other on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith in 2004, and began dating in 2005. Still, it would’ve been a while in their relationship before the couple officially tied the knot.

All good things must come to an end ... even the record-breaking, highest-viewed show of all last year, apparently. Only a couple of days after we heard that star Kevin Costner would be leaving the acclaimed series "Yellowstone" after season 5, we have even more bad news to report. But don't worry, Western fans, it's not all doom and gloom!
According to Variety, creator Taylor Sheridan's flagship television series is set to come to a definitive end after its fifth and final season. The wildly popular drama told the story of the Dutton family of cattle ranchers and the conflicts they come across along multiple disputed border territories. With Costner now officially departing the series after months of rumors, anxious fans can at least rest assured that with everyone on the same page, ol' John Dutton and the rest of his family will likely receive the satisfying sense of closure everyone is clamoring for.

Nicholas Hoult has been in a few films you might have heard of. He’s been a young version of X-Men’s blue mutant The Beast, and was in George Miller’s Mad Max: Fury Road.
He’s now making the rounds for his latest role in Renfield. But even with all that on his resume, he can’t help but wonder what might have been if he’d landed a few other roles.
There was the time he was up for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. He was also vying for a supporting role with Tom Cruise in Top Gun: Maverick. Then there’s the Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning installments. All of them potentially career-changing.
“I screen-tested for [‘The Batman’] and didn’t get it,” Hoult told The Guardian. “Screen-tested for ‘Top Gun,’ didn’t get it. Then I got the call from Tom Cruise: ‘Hey, how about “Mission Impossible?...

There’s nothing quite like when HBO is airing one of its trademark watercooler-worthy dramas weekly. Thankfully, we’ll get to it experience exactly that and more on HBO Max in March 2023.
The big ticket item on HBO Max this March is undoubtedly Succession Season 4 on March 26. Part prestige drama and part screwball comedy, Succession is about as fun a watch as they come. Season 4 of the series about egregious wealth will find the Roy siblings reeling after trying and failing to take down their father, Logan (Brian Cox).
HBO Max’s other major TV option this month is another weekly release from HBO. Matthew Rhys returns as the titular lawyer in Perry Mason Season 2 on March 6. Season 1 of this period piece reboot flexed the classic TV character’s detective skills. From the look of the trailer, it seems as though this is the year Perry makes his name in the court room.

When viewers first heard the gravelly voice of Kevin Costner's "Yellowstone" character, John Dutton III, back in 2018, he was talking about how the goal of ranching is to "survive another season." That's the goal of most TV shows, too, and it's one "Yellowstone" has accomplished for five seasons now. In the same way that Dutton and his family own most of Montana (or at least the biggest contiguous ranch in the United States), "Yellowstone" has carved out a massive piece of real estate for itself on TV, becoming the most-watched show of 2022 and siring the equally popular Paramount+ streaming spin-offs "1883" and "1923."
Costner was and is a movie star, however, and by its very nature as an ongoing TV series, "Yellowstone" required him to adjust to a different way of acting. He had previously starred in the History channel miniseries "Hatfields & McCoys," but the finite nature of that project...

Shows created by Taylor Sheridan always have impressive casts. You’ve got Kevin Costner on Yellowstone, Jeremy Renner on Mayor of Kingstown, Sam Elliott on 1883, Sylvester Stallone on Tulsa King, Harrison Ford on 1923, etc. The upcoming Paramount+ series Lioness is no exception. We’ve previously heard that the cast of this one would include the likes of Nicole Kidman and Zoe Saldaña, and now Morgan Freeman has signed on to join them!
Deadline reports that Freeman will be taking on the role of Edwin Mullins, the United States Secretary of State.
Coming our way from Taylor Sheridan, MTV Entertainment Studios, and 101 Studios, Lioness is based on a real-life CIA program. It’s last call for a number of noteworthy movies leaving HBO Max in December. If you remember “Project Popcorn” – the strategy that saw all 2021 Warner Bros. movies stream on HBO Max the same day they hit theaters – then “Mortal Kombat” and “Those Who Wish Me Dead” will sound familiar. The martial arts reboot and Taylor Sheridan thriller, respectively, will be leaving the streaming service this month.
It’s also final call for Martin Scorsese’s “Bringing Out the Dead,” the extended version of Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor” and Edgar Wright’s terrific sci-fi action-comedy “The World’s End” if auteurs are your thing. “Planet Earth” and “Planet Earth II” are also leaving the streaming service soon.

It’s almost the end of another year…another grueling, relentless, shuffle around the pitiless sun. But before that: more content! HBO Max’s list of new releases for December 2022 is filled with a handful of exciting original TV series.
December 2022 truly is TV’s time to shine on HBO Max. Things get started on day one with the release of Gossip Girl season 2 (Dec. 1). That will be followed by His Dark Materials on Dec. 5. Adapting The Amber Spyglass, this season promises to be the most action-packed yet for the BBC/HBO fantasy collaboration. December 8 sees the arrival of Doom Patrol season 4. This DC comic property doesn’t have the cultural cache of some of its CW contemporaries but when it’s rolling, it might be one of the best comic series around.
Now that Warner has mostly scuttled its simultaneous streaming/theatrical release strategy, there aren’t many big original movies to speak of.

Pic was written by Larraín’s Spencer scribe, Oscar nominee Steven Knight. The filmmaker’s brother and creative partner Juan de Dios Larraín will produce for Fabula Pictures, alongside Lorenzo Mieli for The Apartment Pictures, a Fremantle Company, and Jonas Dornbach for Komlizen Film.
“Having the chance to combine my two most deep and personal passions, cinema and opera, has been a long-awaited dream,” said Larraín. “To do this with Angelina, a supremely brave and curious artist, is a fascinating opportunity. A true gift.

There is a Taylor Sheridan aesthetic. The "Sicario" writer and "Yellowstone" creator is a poet laureate of the American West, a writer who reframes its ancient archetypes for modern audiences by placing emotion first. "Hell and High Water" sweepingly considers the folk hero power of modern-day outlaws. "Those Who Wish Me Dead" is a classic white-hat-vs.-black-hat yarn set in the daredevil world of smoke jumpers. Then, there's "Yellowstone." The Paramount+ smash is an unabashedly melodramatic soap opera, a dime-store novel for the small screen. Sheridan's show disguises its seedier impulses through grit and self-seriousness. The "Yellowstone" discourse has revolved around it being immensely popular yet widely unknown. So are dime-store novels. So are the works of Taylor Sheridan. It's all part of the plan.
If you love "Yellowstone" or any of its many genre elements, here are 16 shows you can watch next that range from neo-westerns to classic soaps.
