Holland Taylor and Ana Villafañe will star in the Off Broadway world premiere of Mario Correa’s new play N/A this summer, playing congresswomen of different generations in a production directed by Tony winner Diane Paulus.
Taylor will play “N,” the first woman Speaker of the House, and Villafañe will portray “A,” the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. The play is described as being inspired by real people and events, and although producers did not name names the descriptions more-than-strongly suggest Nancy Pelosi and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
N/A will begin previews on Tuesday, June 11, at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater at Lincoln Center, with opening night on Sunday, June 23.
The official synopsis reads, “N/A is a whip smart battle of wills – and wits – between N, the first woman Speaker of the House, and A, the youngest woman ever elected to Congress. Inspired by real people and events,...

Cher has offered some insight into her dating history, including why she prefers younger men.
“I’m really shy when I’m not working and kind of shy around men,” Cher, 77, explained during an appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show. “And the reason I go out with young men is because men my age or older — well, now they’re all dead — but before they just never, they were always terrified to approach me.”
She continued, saying that younger men are a bit bolder and jokingly suggested they were “raised by women like me.” Later on in the interview, she discussed how her current partner, Alexander “A.E.” Edwards, had introduced her to Tupac, and he quickly became one of Cher’s favorite artists. “I was so taken aback by the depth of the words,” she told Hudson.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine alumna Melissa Fumero, AnnaSophia Robb (The Act) and Ben Rappaport (For the People) are set as leads in Grosse Pointe Garden Society, NBC’s drama pilot from Jenna Bans, Bill Krebs and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
The drama follows four members of a suburban garden club — three of them played by Fumero, Robb and Rappaport — all from different walks of life, who get caught up in murder and mischief as they struggle to make their conventional lives bloom.
Fumero plays Birdie. Entitled, rich, swathed in Chanel, a smoker, a drinker, self-destructive at times, toxic at others, but not without real pain beneath her facade, Birdie is a successful author whose memoir, “Digging for Gold: Dancing Through Divorce,” is a bestseller.

Sebastian Stan is exploring roles beyond the shadow of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and making quite a good impression out of it. Also, it seems the actor has a newfound interest in the horror genre. Stan appeared in two horror movies recently, including Mimi Cave’s Fresh and his most recent A Different Man.
Sebastian Stan in A Different Man
Stan has tested his tolerance level for a role as well. While his appearance in horror movies is well adjacent to the actor, one horror movie frightened the MCU star. Jennifer Lawrence, who led the movie, also endured intense nightmares.

Darren Aronofsky is one of the Hollywood directors who has created a legacy by making some of the most disturbing movies, including Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, and Mother! Particularly, Mother! was frightening, and its disturbing elements were not exclusive to the audience.

Exclusive: Uncoupled is not getting saved after all. Showtime has decided not to proceed with Season 2 of the comedy series, from Emily in Paris creator Darren Star and Modern Family veteran Jeffrey Richman, Deadline has learned. A rep for the network could not be reached for comment.
The reversal comes a little over a year after Showtime stepped in to pick up the MTV Entertainment Studios-produced Uncoupled following its cancellation by Netflix after one season. Showtime’s creative team was to put the project into redevelopment to tailor it to the network’s sensibilities, and the decision not to do a second season came after months of work on that, sources said.
Series star Neil Patrick Harris revealed in June that Season 2 was supposed to start filming in early July of last year but production was delayed due to the WGA strike.

Few franchises are as controversial as the feel-good Christmas family comedy "Home Alone." The first two films are widely beloved, bonafide staples of the American Christmas movie canon. However, the subsequent sequels — of which there are many — are almost universally despised. Most people haven't seen all of the "Home Alone" movies, and they might be left wondering — are any of the follow-up films worth watching?
Some feel that Macaulay Culkin leaving the franchise after the second film is what set the subsequent movies up for failure. In this critic's opinion, the "Home Alone" entries 3-6 suffer from a lot more than bad casting. However, I watched every "Home Alone" movie so you didn't have to, and I am here to answer some age-old questions. Firstly, is "Home Alone 2" better than the original? And secondly, are any of the follow-up films worth watching? My answer might surprise you.
You might disagree,...

Fair Play is a 2023 thriller film written and directed by Chloe Domont. The film stars Phoebe Dynevor, Alden Ehrenreich, Eddie Marsan, and Rich Sommer.
“Fair Play” is a movie about ambition and how a professional relationship can affect a romantic relationship. In every place, there is an expression for this that ultimately recommends the same thing: not mixing love and work.
It’s difficult not to do so when, as in this case, both protagonists work ten hours a day and have no time for anything else but the company.
Plot
Emily and Luke are engaged, attractive, and have a promising future. There’s only one problem: they work at the same company, and company protocol doesn’t accept it. The problem arises when she gets promoted and he slowly starts losing his position in the complex corporate organization.

Independent talent agency 33 & West has signed comedians Masood Boomgaard, Tyler Fischer and Jimmy Dore, TheWrap can exclusively report.

"Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" may not be a romantic show, but it is where Mariska Hargitay and Peter Hermann fell in love!
Hargitay and Hermann met on the set of "Svu" in 2001, when the "Younger" actor guest starred as defense attorney Trevor Langan. After three years of dating, the couple married in August 2004 at a Santa Barbara chapel at a 200-guest wedding. They now reside in New York with their three adorable children - sons August and Andrew and daughter Amaya.
Hargitay, who plays the lead character Olivia Benson on the long-running show, recalled the first time she met Hermann on the set during a January 2022 interview with Drew Barrymore. "I was nervous, and I heard [Hermann] was German, and I didn't know what to do, so I said - this is so embarrassing - I said, 'So you're a kraut.' And he goes like this, 'That's funny.

“Let’s Make a Deal” host Wayne Brady came out earlier this week as pansexual.
The 51-year-old, who is also known for “Whose Line Is It Anyway” and “The Masked Singer” (which he won in Season 2), made the announcement on Monday via People Magazine.
“I am pansexual,” Brady declared, adding, “Bisexual — with an open mind!”
According to GLAAD, pansexuality falls under the bisexuality umbrella. The LGBTQ+ advocacy organization defines pansexual as “an adjective used to describe a person who has the capacity to form enduring physical, romantic, and/ or emotional attractions to any person, regardless of gender identity.”
A pansexual individual’s sexuality may evolve over time. Brady was formerly married to Mandie Taketa, and the two share a daughter, Maile. He said to People he has been attracted to men in the past, but has never dated one.
Pansexual individuals are sometimes non-binary, but the two are not mutually exclusive.

The millennial women-led series is dead. Long live the millennials.
It wasn’t exactly surprising when Freeform’s beloved critically acclaimed “Single Drunk Female” was canceled this month after just two seasons and immediately pulled from Hulu. Sure, Freeform touted the sitcom as the highest-rated original comedy during the New York City Season 2 premiere before the series returned with all new episodes on Hulu in April. But its cancellation is just one of the many reminders that networks don’t invest long-term in women-fronted shows that focus on “messy” millennial women.
While we pour one out for “Single Drunk Female,” it’s best to trace the series back to its roots with Lena Dunham and executive producer Jenni Konner’s explosively disruptive HBO series “Girls,” which celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2022. After that massive hit, why has TV abandoned the generation of people who grew up watching “Girls”?

“Emily in Paris” star Lily Collins and the show’s costume designer, Marylin Fitoussi, were both on hand Tuesday night at the series’ For Your Consideration event held in Los Angeles at the DGA theater. But there was a very notable absence: Series creator and executive producer Darren Star.
Star was scheduled to appear alongside Collins and Fitoussi as Netflix ramps up promotion going into the Emmys season, but the “Sex and the City” creator was a no-show. The panel didn’t explain his absence or even remark on it, but it comes amid the Writers’ Guild of America strike that began at midnight on Tuesday. Star is, of course, a longstanding member of the guild.
Along with “Emily in Paris” and “Sex and the City,” Star also created “And Just Like That,” “Melrose Place,” “Younger” and “Uncoupled,” among his many credits.
Representatives for Star didn’t immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.

“Younger” star Miriam Shor has been cast in Bradley Cooper’s Leonard Bernstein biopic, “Maestro.”
Shor exclusively tells Variety that she is playing actor and model Cynthia O’Neal, a friend of the legendary musician and his wife Felicia Montealegre.
Cooper directed the Netflix film, co-wrote it with Josh Singer and stars as Bernstein. Carey Mulligan portrays Montealegre.
“I play Cynthia O’Neal, who was a very good friend of the Bernsteins, particularly his wife, Felicia,” Shor said Thursday night at the Los Angeles premiere of her and Cooper’s latest film, “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” “I mean, that was unbelievable. Because an actor who also directs, to get to work with Bradley… he’s a savant. It’s miraculous. So that was really special, I was really grateful.”
Shor also revealed that she hasn’t reached out to O’Neal yet about her portrayal in the film, but...

Rachael Leigh Cook has done all that: She’s been a teen breakout star in an iconic high school comedy (“She’s All That”), transitioned to cringe sponsored movies (“Spirit Halloween”), and made the leap to Hallmark Christmas queen (“Tis the Season to Be Merry”). Now, she’s deftly parlayed her everywoman likability into the sweet made-for-Netflix movie “A Tourist’s Guide for Love.”
Yes, “made-for-Netflix” is a category all on its own. While “The Irishman” is considered to be a Netflix Original, “made-for-Netflix” separates the mass-produced movies like the nearly-perfect “Falling for Christmas” and calming background noise of “Murder Mystery 2” from the real Oscar contenders. It’s a sliding scale of quality under the streaming titan’s content umbrella, and Cook’s latest film, “A Tourist’s Guide to Love,” feels like an adaptation of a sweet viral BookTok romance novel — in the best way possible.

Peacock's revival of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" reunites us with some of our favorite characters, in new form. Newcomer Jabari Banks steps into Will Smith's shoes as Will, while Adrian Holmes plays Banks family patriarch Philip Banks. Vivian (Cassandra Freeman), Carlton (Olly Sholotan), Hilary (Coco Jones), and Ashley Banks's (Akira Akbar) roles have also been recast, while April Parker Jones plays Will's mother. And during the show's season one finale, we finally reunited with Will's father, Lou.
For those who don't remember, Lou (originally played by Ben Vareen) abandoned his family in "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" when Will was just 5 years old, leaving Vy to raise Will on her own. Hilary Duff and Mandy Moore were two of the hottest teen pop stars in the early 2000s. They also grew up to enjoy successful careers as adults.
Moore recently starred as the mom of “The Big Three” in the popular NBC drama This Is Us. Her six seasons as Rebecca Pearson earned her multiple awards, critical praise, and millions of fans who adored Jack and Rebecca’s love story.
After taking some time off, Duff returned to acting as Kelsey Peters in the hit TV Land sitcom Younger from 2015 to 2021. She now stars as Sophie in the Hulu series How I Met Your Father.
Both actors are now mothers and great friends.

Despite recently reopening the door for a “Lizzie McGuire” Disney+ reboot, Hilary Duff said she has not heard from Disney about any plans for a revival since.
When asked if she had heard from Disney since sharing that she is “optimistic” about a potential reboot, Duff responded, “No, I haven’t.” “Phone hasn’t rang,” Duff told TheWrap during a press day for Hulu’s “How I Met Your Father.”
Last month, Duff opened up about her hopefulness for a “Lizzie McGuire” revival, which was scrapped at Disney+ in 2020, during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live,” in which host Andy Cohen asked Duff if she would still consider doing the reboot if “it lived up to her vision.”
The “Younger” star responded enthusiastically, “of course!”

Exclusive: Uncoupled, has been saved. I hear Showtime is picking up Season 2 (and potentially beyond) of the comedy series, from Emily in Paris creator Darren Star and Modern Family veteran Jeffrey Richman, a couple weeks after the MTV Entertainment Studios-produced show was canceled by Netflix. At the premium network, soon to be renamed Paramount+ with Showtime, Uncoupled is designed to fit into one the three main content lanes recently outlined by new Showtime boss Chris McCarthy, “Metro Cultures”, which spans “culturally diverse takes” like The L Word and The Chi.

Plimpton is a three-time Emmy nominee, winning the award for best guest actress in a drama for “The Good Wife” in 2012. She was also nominated in the same category for “Law & Order: Svu” and for best actress in a comedy for “Raising Hope,” the latter of which she starred in for four seasons.

‘Need Ser Criston Cole’s skincare routine’: House of the Dragon fans joke about character not ageing
House of the Dragon fans have been joking about Ser Criston Cole not ageing during the series despite multiple time jumps.
Cole has been played by the same actor, Fabien Frankel, throughout the Game of Thrones prequel despite other roles being re-cast by older actors due to two time jumps adding up to around 16 years.
Leading character Rhaenyra Targaryen has been played by both Milly Alcock and Emma D’Arcy throughout the hit HBO show, and series villain Alicent Hightower has been played by both Emily Carey and Olivia Cooke.
In episode eight, which aired on 9 October, a time jump of six years saw both Rhaenyra and Alicent’s children, such as Aemond Targaryen and Jacaerys Velaryon, grow up and be recast by older actors.
Despite this, Frankel is still playing Cole, with fans cracking jokes about this situation online.
“Sorry but is Ser Criston Cole Ever going to age,” wrote one viewer,...
