Morgan Freeman has openly said in interviews that, like with Olympus Has Fallen (2013), he did this movie strictly for the money. In a press junket for this film, he started singing the first few lyrics of 'The O-Jays'' hit "For the Love of Money" and then said: "These large production action films pay well, the rewards are many...you've got a film that everybody's going to respond to, they're going to go and see it. It's going to make its money back...they'll be right out there making another movie and you never know when they're going to call you back."
