One scene set in modern times shows hotel-room numbers on the Queen Mary prefixed with the letter "E", indicating that they are on E Deck. All of the Queen Mary's hotel rooms are on M, A and B Decks, with numbers prefixed with those letters.
The captain of the Queen Mary has a copy of Life Magazine from September 20, 1938 featuring a picture of the Queen Mary on the cover with the caption "Queen Mary Gains Blue Ribbon," celebrating its record breaking transatlantic crossing. The actual award for fastest ship is called the "Blue Riband," and while the QM did win the title in 1938, it was only featured on the cover of Life Magazine on April 19, 1937.
In the sequence where Patrick Caulder gets food from a vending machine, a bar of Galaxy chocolate can be seen. Galaxy is the British name for Dove chocolate, and as the film is set in Los Angeles this is an error.
