Harley Morenstein is steering the Famous Food Truck into town. The man known as the co-founder of the Epic Meal Time YouTube channel is the star of the latest special from Scripps Lifestyle Studios' Genius Kitchen brand, in which he puts together some breakfast sandwiches alongside social media star Hayes Grier.
The Famous Food Truck of the special's title doesn't seem to refer to a world-renowned mobile restaurant, but rather to a roving kitchen that happens to have famous people inside it. Morenstein's signature touches, including his love of bacon and his tendency to bleep out curse words with wacky sound effects, are all present here, and his bold attitude drives the special, no pun intended. That said, the vibe is very easygoing, with Morenstein, Grier, and chef Lindsay Ames presiding over a loose, fun-loving culinary atmosphere.

Pizza is a weird food in that you can literally purchase one at any price. That said, a $500 dollar pizza is probably something I'd never buy regardless of taste, but it's cool to se ehow the other half lives I suppose. Would you eat this pizza? It seems to me like they just slammed a bunch of expensive shit on it with little regard for taste, but I guess that's Epic Meal Time in a nutshell...what do you think?...

The July 2015 merge of Studio71 and Collective Digital Studios united a Germany-based multi-channel network with a Us-based one to form a single global entity, currently known as Studio71. Now, that network is making another intercontinental journey; it has announced a deal with Beijing-based tech company ByteDance that will bring the videos of Studio71’s creative partners to top Chinese platforms like Toutiao.
Creators who will bring their videos to Chinese audiences as part of the deal include Vitaly Zdorovetskiy, Epic Meal Time, Matthew Santoro, Tana Mongeau, and Logan Paul, all of whom have millions of subscribers across the social web. The featured content will be subtitled in Mandarin, allowing local viewers to follow along with Western pranks, vlogs, and sketches.
Toutiao may be an unfamiliar app for American readers, but it’s huge in China. The content aggregation portal has been downloaded more than 600 million times, and it has more than 66 million daily active users.

Another startup has added its name to the long list of apps within the burgeoning mobile live streaming market. It’s called Kastr, its three co-founders include YouTube star Kurt Hugo Schneider, and it’s now available in beta.
Many live streaming apps sell themselves by noting the exclusive features they bring into the crowded mobile-live field, but in the end, content is still king. More than anything else, Kastr is touting its strong lineup of launch partners, several of whom are popular YouTube stars. Beyond Schneider, viewers who download Kastr can watch regularly-scheduled broadcasts from creators like Jack & Jack and Kirstie Maldonado of Pentatonix. The official YouTube channel for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert just passed one million subscribers, and the CBS host celebrated his accomplishment in amusing fashion. In a recent video, Colbert turned the gold play button he received from YouTube into a portal that allowed him to act out popular online video formats.
Colbert’s Late Show YouTube channel launched last June, four months before the former Colbert Report host made his debut on CBS. Since then, the digital hub has risen rapidly up the YouTube charts, becoming one of the few channels on the site to go from zero subscribers to one million in less than a year’s time.

Darren and Harley Morenstein, the creators of YouTube’s most infamous cooking show, Epic Meal Time, have landed a development deal with the CBC, Canada’s national public radio and television broadcaster, to bring an original series to the small screen.
The scripted show, entitled Elebrity, explores the notion of overnight digital stardom, and will follow the trajectory of Herschel Bock, an eternal slacker who attempts to navigate his newfound fame. Elebrity is a creation of the Morenstein brothers’ production company, NextTime Productions, which was founded in 2011.
Elebrity was selected by the CBC through a program entitled the Jumping Screens Comedy Workshop -- a five-month training lab aimed to help three Canadian digital creative teams migrate their talents to other screens. The Workshop is a collaboration between the Canadian Film Centre (Cfc), a charitable organization that invests in the next generation of Canadian content creators, and the CBC. One of the online video industry’s most prominent networks is taking on a new name. Collective Digital Studio, which is partnered with major digital stars like Lilly Singh, Epic Meal Time, and Rhett and Link, will be rebranded as part of German multi-channel network Studio71.
Collective DS and Studio71 are already linked thanks to their shared parent company, ProSiebenSat.1 Group. The German media conglomerate acquired a 20% stake in Collective DS in 2014 before taking control of it a year later. In July 2015, a combined network called Collective Studio71 was formed, and the new rebranding effort simplifies that merger by collecting (no pun intended) the two networks under one name.
Studio71’s founding partners will retain control of all activities in Europe, while Collective DS founders Michael Green and Reza Izad will oversee the company’s North American presence. “Our stellar growth in 2015 is due in no small part to ProSiebenSat.

In 2010, a band of daring Canadians came together to create a 5,200 calorie “fast food pizza.” Five years later, those intrepid food pioneers are known as Epic Meal Time, and they’ve eclipsed their first video many times over, both in terms of viewership and calorie count. In order to celebrate half a decade of artery-clogging goodness, Epic Meal Time has produced one of its biggest episodes yet, with an 84,000-calorie lasagna-in-a-pig monstrosity serving as the centerpiece.
Epic Meal Time’s five-year bash is a ten-minute odyssey that includes a heavily-aged version of the channel’s bygone Muscles Glasses character, a Cristal-popping rap video, and, of course, several pounds of bacon, courtesy of Hormel. The ensuing creation isn’t the biggest one Epic Meal Time has ever produced--i’m pretty sure that distinction goes to the “Snack Stadium” episode--but it is almost certainly the most sentimental. I mean, look at how far they’ve come!

The “Darude -- Sandstorm” button prank isn’t the only April Fools' Day project YouTube participated in yesterday. Google’s online video site partnered with Chevrolet and online comedy network Jash to live stream a day full of surprises for the #BestDayEver marketing campaign on April 1, 2015.
Broadcast out of YouTube Space La, the #BestDayEver live stream was hosted by comedian Jon Dore and musical comedy duo Garfunkel and Oates. Throughout the day, the trio introduced various surprises live streamed from different parts of the country, including appearances from digital stars like Tyler Oakley, Rooster Teeth, and Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time. Traditional celebrities and athletes, such as Kelly Clarkson, Olivia Wilde, and the soccer team Manchester United, also showed up for their own dedicated segments meant to make people's days brighter.
The initiative was part of Chevrolet’s goal to raise awareness for the car manufacturer’s advances in technology and product design.

Throughout the day, the trio introduced various surprises live streamed from different parts of the country, including appearances from digital stars like Tyler Oakley, Rooster Teeth, and Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time. I’ll confess that the Dead Rising franchise is near and dear to my heart, ever since I logged countless hours running around the Willamette Parkview Mall with a katana and a “protective” horse-head mask. Boasting insane contraptions, hordes of ferocious zombies, and psychopathic boss battles, the original game features enough cinematic fodder to string together its own wacky animated feature, but the thought of a live-action Dead Rising movie still packed an exciting punch. Thus, Dead Rising: Watchtower was born.
Unlike the games, Watchtower follows the exploits of a young internet journalist named Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe). Frank West (Rob Riggle) is a part of the chaos, but he watches as a zombie quarantine goes horribly awry form the safety of a television news room. Chase is the one who finds himself caught in the action, as a new Zombrex-proof virus strain traps the infected inside an East Mission...

North American online video audiences will soon be able to attend YouTube FanFest in person. The digital star-studded event will make its debut on the continent at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto, Ontario on May 2, 2015.
Co-produced by YouTube and Branded Limited, YouTube FanFest will feature such YouTube stars as Bethany Mota, Jenna Marbles, Kurt Hugo Schneider, and Toronto’s own Lilly Singh (known by her username IISuperwomanII). The Canadian version of YouTube FanFest is hosted by the wildly popular Canadian YouTube group Epic Meal Time.
YouTube’s Head of North American content partnerships Laura Lee said in a release as reported by The Hollywood Reporter that FanFest’s Canadian debut is due to the country’s “early loyalty” to Google’s online video site. “I like to say Canadians were two to three years ahead of the curve vis-a-vis the U.S. audience in terms of broadband adoption years ago, and now consumption of YouTube content,...

Snapchat just unveiled its Discover platform on January 27, 2015. It’s an outpost on the ephemeral messaging application that was once the butt of jokes about lewd digital pictures and is now worth billions of dollars and the butt of less jokes about lewd digital pictures where select publications and entertainment companies can showcase branded content in a way that’s intuitive and makes sense for the platform’s users who view more than 500 million Snapchat Stories (videos that show a collection of photo messages and disappear after a day) per day.
But Discover isn’t the only method by which a brand can gain traction on Snapchat. And Discover’s launch partners - including CNN, Comedy Central, Espn, Food Network, Vice, Yahoo, People, National Geographic, Daily Mail, and Warner Music Group - aren’t the only major brands creating content they hope will appeal to the site’s massive teen and millennial demographic.

Nissan will run its first Super Bowl commercial in 18 years, but the car manufacturer is approaching the comeback with an all-new marketing stint. As a preview of its upcoming Big Game ad on February 1, the auto company has launched the #withdad campaign and partnered with seven YouTube creators to make videos related to the initiative.
YouTubers Roman Atwood, Action Movie Kid, Epic Meal Time, and Jabbawockeez were the first four creators to release their videos on Nissan’s YouTube channel. Each digital star’s clip is unique from the others and doesn’t necessarily represent what Nissan’s final Super Bowl ad will look like. However, Nissan notes at the bottom of its channel its #withdad campaign is meant to be a “celebration of and inspiration for dads who find innovative and exciting ways to make life better for their kids and families.”

During this year's Super Bowl, YouTube is looking to be more than just the place people go to watch the commercials. The top video sharing site will have its own halftime show, during which creators like Harley Morenstein and Freddie Wong will act as counterprogramming to Katy Perry and Lenny Kravitz.
Morenstein, the ringleader of the Epic Meal Time channel, will host the program, which YouTube is producing alongside Collective Digital Studio. Other creators slated to appear include Freddie Wong, Toby Turner, and Rhett and Link. According to Bloomberg, the program includes performances, stunts, and a few fake Super Bowl ads, including one from Wong that combines sugary juice drinks with his signature effects-laden production.
The show will go live on the AdBlitz channel, which, as in previous years, will house all the Super Bowl ads when they are uploaded to YouTube. Viewers are invited to rate each spot, and after the game,...

Forbes has released its annual series of "30 Under 30" lists, and as was the case last year, the online video community is well represented on the "Hollywood" list. Among other honorees, the list includes YouTube-native content creators like Freddie Wong, Hannah Hart, and Harley Morenstein.
Forbes uses "30 Under 30" to spotlight talented young men and women across a variety of different fields. Last year, the Hollywood category honored creators like Grace Helbig, Smosh, and Issa Rae, and this year, it spotlights a completely new group of talented individuals. Wong, who released the third and final season of Video Game High School this year, earned some kudos, as did Epic Meal Time host Morenstein and My Drunk Kitchen host Hart, who both released their own books in 2014. Wong and Morenstein are 29; Hart is 28.

Thanksgiving has arrived, and in addition to family, football, and ungodly amounts of food, we here at Tubefilter are thankful for YouTube (I got your back, California and Delaware.) In anticipation of the Us' biggest fall holiday, YouTube creators took to their channels to create relevant videos. Here are seven that caught our eyes. 7. Seth Rogen's Jewish-Canadian-American Thanksgiving by Funny or Die Embedding disabled. Watch it here via Funny or Die's YouTUbe channel. Consider this fun little animation, which brings Rogen's experience as a misled Canadian Jew to life, as an appetizer for our countdown. It won't fill you up, but it's good for a chuckle or two. 6. 10 Thanksgiving Facts That Can't Be True by CollegeHumor During the holidays, list-based articles and videos run rampant (you're reading one right now.) CollegeHumor has sent up those click-baiting spectacles with a video in the spirit of Tim And Eric. It's not for everybody,...

show returns from to A&E’s Fyi Network from its brief hiatus to continue its first season at 10Pm Est on November 14, 2014, with an hour-long Thanksgiving special. In the newest episodes, viewers will get even more over-the-top cooking recipes and antics, starting with a Thanksgiving meal (not the Canadian kind) of massive proportions created exclusively for Los Angeles community members who have nowhere to go for the holiday. The guests will be treated to traditional holiday classics (like mashed potatoes and turkey) prepared in a decidedly untraditional fashion (like stuffed between two roasted pigs in a boat on top of a sea of gravy that the show's star Harley Morenstein collectively calls the “The Hms Swinecraft”). Stemming from the wildly successful Epic Meal Time YouTube channel (which currently boasts over 6.6 million subscribers), the first season of Epic Meal Empire debuted on July 26 on Fyi. Legendary Pictures served up a double helping of news just yesterday for the studio’s live-action adaptation, Dead Rising: Watchtower. First up, the company’s Digital Media division showcased the first set photo to mark the start of production, which has our band of survivors covered in blood (never a good sign in the midst of a zombie apocalypse).
In tandem with the image, Legendary confirmed that Rob Riggle (21 Jump Street), Keegan Connor Tracey (Once Upon A Time), Aleks Paunovic (This Means War) and Harley Morenstein of Epic Meal Time fame will join the existing cast.
Those new recruits will step into some notable roles from Capcom’s eponymous zombie-slaying series, with Riggle playing photo-journalist Frank West — the protagonist of the first Dead Rising game and 2009’s remake Chop Till You Drop, which released on the Nintendo Wii. Elsewhere, Morenstein will put all those bacon strips to one side...

On July 26th, Epic Meal Time will come to A&E's Fyi channel (formerly known as Bio) through Epic Meal Empire, a TV-sized version of the self-proclaimed "#1 online cooking show." In order to give viewers a sneak peek of what their TV show will entail, the Epic Meal Time crew has provided with a studio tour and a three-minute trailer. As you might expect, Epic Meal Empire combines the bacon-loaded, super-sized culinary creations of Epic Meal Time with a TV budget. Part of that budget has gone to a massive kitchen, where Harley Morenstein and his crew have everything from an ice cream machine to a deli slicer to a "sword wall" at their disposal. The studio also contains a wall of famous Canadians, because in case you missed it, Epic Meal Time hails from north of the border. As for the show itself, Epic Meal Time and partner network...

In their four years of extreme cooking, the Epic Meal Time crew has dumped hundreds of pounds of bacon on top of its creations. The salty cut of pig has topped everything from turkey to tacos and has appeared in all of the web series' episodes. Now, a major brand is taking advantage of bacon's omnipresent Epic Meal Time role. Collective Digital Studio, which is partnered with Epic Meal Time, has announced a deal with Hormel through which the food company's Black Label Bacon brand will become the official bacon of Epic Meal Time. The partnership will last for a year, over which Hormel plans to supply more than 1,300 pounds of bacon to Harley Morenstein and his band of sous chefs. That amount will cover all the bacon needs of the main Epic Meal Time show while also leaving plenty of strips for Handle It, the Emt web series that provides viable recipes.

July 1st is Canada Day, and a few of our friends from north of the border have taken to YouTube to show pride for their native land. Canadian astronaut Chris Hadfield has released a folk song about Canadian culture, while the Canucks over at Epic Meal Time have contributed a huge, poutine-filled monstrosity dedicated to their home country. Hadfield, who is best known for his space-borne cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity" (which has since been removed from YouTube as part of a legal agreement), has kept himself plugged into the Internet even after returning to Earth. Hadfield is now retired, which gives him plenty of time to team up with his brother Dave and record a song about Hockey Night In Canada, camping, strongly-pronounced R's, and everything else that makes Canada Canada. For Epic Meal Time, a Canada Day celebration has become a yearly tradition, and 2014 is no different.

The presentations at Digital Content Newfronts have dominated online video headlines over the past week, and for those who are not in attendance, Digitas is trying to sum up what the event is all about. The ad agency has debuted a video alongside Collective Digital Studios that, according to its description, "sums up the spirit of the NewFronts." The video is titled "Fearless", and it encourages advertisers to try out new, different, and offbeat campaigns that might be a little risky. It features a number of Collective DS' YouTuber partners, including Hannah Hart, Dave Days, and Harley Morenstein from 'Epic Meal Time'. There are also references to viral videos, including some of the biggest hits of the past few years. You can probably guess which ones. The video hints at a larger partnership between Digitas (which was a founding partner of the Newfronts back in 2008) and Collective DS.
