Sex & Nudity

  • Several sex and rape scenes throughout.
  • Jamie and Claire kiss and make out, fully clothed on top of a hill.
  • Another scene where they make out with Claire's top open and her breasts partially visible. This turns sinister as two men arrive and hold them at gunpoint. One of them gets between Claire's legs to rape her. After they fend off the attack, Claire is seen going into shock and her breasts are partially visible.
  • Black Jack Randall ties Claire up and bends her over a table. He hikes up her skirt, intending to rape her, but is interrupted.

Violence & Gore

  • Several scenes of violence.
  • Jamie talks to an old friend who had been tortured as a prisoner of war. There is reference to his tongue having been pulled out and to boiling oil being poured on his legs. We see the healed burns on his legs.
  • The MacKenzie party fends off an attack by brigands. The attack takes place at night and so much of the gore is obscured. But several men are stabbed or shot.
  • Frank beats a pair of men who attempt to rob him. He then continues to beat one of them after he has been subdued.
  • The men instruct Claire on how to use a knife to stab someone.
  • Jamie and Claire are interrupted by two British deserters as they make love. The men hold Jamie at gunpoint and begin to rape Claire. She stabs one of the men with a hidden knife while Jamie kills the other one.
  • Black Jack Randall roughly handles Claire, tying her up and then throwing her over a table. He pushes up her skirts as part of an attempt to rape her, but is interrupted before he can complete the assault.
