“You might ask why we are doing this commentary track.”Cathy’s Curse (1976)
Commentators: Simon Barrett (filmmaker), Brian Collins (critic/author)
1. This original cut features opening text that Collins (who also creates credits for TV/film) apparently recreated, and they’ve finally given Barrett the opportunity to read all nineteen words. They’re not present in the longer director’s cut. “I’ve never seen the longer cut,” says Barrett “and I won’t because I’m patriotic.”
2. The onscreen text was added by the distributors to explain the footage they cut for its release.
3. Barrett (and Collins?) recorded a “fan” commentary for the films years ago.
4. Barrett wonders about the Venn Diagram including people who are fans of the film and happen to know who both he and Collins are. “It’s like two specks that you can’t tell if they’re the same or not.”
5. “You know and I know that I’ve had...

Ever since 1977 when A New Hope premiered in theaters Stormtroopers have been a mainstay in the Star Wars Universe. This group of soldiers has inspired thousands if not millions of people around the world to wear the suit with pride. Without a doubt Stormtroopers have also provided some of the best comic relief throughout the Star Wars Saga. The popularity of Stormtroopers have increased especially with A-List celebrities like Daniel Craign donning the costume in The Force Awakens. The guys at Lrm thought it would be great to go back through and pick out the best Stormtrooper death scenes from the original trilogy. We went through watching the original trilogy and picked these for deaths as the best ones. All four brought a sense of laughter when we sat down an re-watched the original films. The fifth death scene is what inspired us to do this article. Let us know...

Even before they were popularised by Scream‘s slasher movie obsessive Randy, most of us were aware of the ‘rules’ of populating a horror movie. Don’t have sex. Don’t smoke weed. Don’t go off alone. And for heaven’s sake, stay away from Indian burial grounds. Lest we give Randy all the credit though, some horror movies have been giving away the rules for years – and in their title, no less.
Don’t Look Now, Don’t Go Near the Park, Don’t Hang Up, Don’t Go in the Woods, Don’t Open Till Christmas, Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark (a somewhat ironic title, that), Don’t Go To Sleep… this naming convention was (and is) popular enough to...

Most of us watch films but don.t read screenplays. They are odd pieces of writing because they only exist in order to become something else.

It isn't supposed to be like this. The laws of reality television tend to dictate that no show remains captivating for more than a few seasons, even with cast shakeups. It's just the way our attention spans and the concept of diminishing returns operate. Yet, here we are in the eighth season of The Real Housewives of New York City and the Bravo staple is unequivocally having its best season ever. Yes, ever. After a glorious run of early seasons that introduced the world to Bethenny Frankel, Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, Countess Luann de Lesseps, Alex McCord, Kelly Bensimon and Sonja Morgan, and took us to Scary Island ("Go to sleep!"), delivered an electrifying collection of episodes that documented the...

Let’s face it: Most horror made for TV isn’t really scary, is it? I mean, we talk about these shows or movies frightening us as kids, but we could say the same about watching a PG rated flick that contains a few good jolts or disturbing themes. The bottom line is a lot of things scare us as children, including real life. And every once in awhile, someone will come strutting along and boast of a TV movie from their youth that they insist is genuinely scary. And when they say genuine, they mean that it still casts a spell today, unvarnished by time. Well, having finally seen it for the first time, I can say that Don’t Go To Sleep (1982) fits the bill, offering up a few for real scares, a sense of unease, a clever teleplay, and an ending that’s still sticking to me like unwanted psychic residue.

Go To Sleep, Tyrion! Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister on Game of Thrones, embarked on the ultimate survival challenge while making his Saturday Night Live hosting debut. In a pre-taped parody sketch titled Naked & Afraid: Celebrity Addition, he was tasked with surviving in the wild with cast member Leslie Jones...in the buff. "Whoa!" the comedienne and actress said as she steps out of an Uber. "The cool breeze feel good on my ass, man!" During their unconventional camping adventure, Jones proceeds to call Dinklage "Tyrion," which appears to annoy him. "Peter," she said. "Is a whiny bitch. Did you know...

When Arnold Scaasi opened his couture salon in 1964, he soon became a couturier to the stars. He was already a favoured designer for Barbra Streisand when he famously dressed her for the 1969 Oscars. Streisand was up for Best Actress for her movie debut in Funny Girl and was established as something of an ‘individual’; usually described as ‘kooky’, she was completely different from anyone else, an innovator of style, and challenging and changing the ideas of beauty. So it is no surprise that when it came to her clothing choice for the Oscars, Streisand resisted the usual protocol of an evening gown and instead opted for a most extraordinary Scaasi-designed pant suit. Made from black, sheer, sequined net fabric, the over-blouse had a white peter-pan collar with black pussy bow and over-sized white cuffs, while in Scaasi’s own words, the ‘bell-bottomed trousers were exaggerated and had many godets flaring...
