- Teams of master magicians create and perform original magic routines using random props.
- Teams of magicians compete to create extraordinary magic out of everyday objects. They are judged on Originality, Creativity and Showmanship by a panel of expert judges, headed up by Penn & Teller. If the "Challengers" ever beat the home-team "Wizards," they walk away with $10,000.
The "Wizard Wars" competition all began in magic creator Rick Lax's Las Vegas apartment. He and street magician Justin Flom brought together a group of their magic friends and filmed the Wizard Wars pilot on a $15 budget.
Wizard Wars creator Lax now works as a behind-the-scenes magic consultant and producer; Flom stars as a "Wizard," along with Greg Wilson, Billy Kidd and Shimshi. Judges include Penn & Teller, Jason Latimer, and Christen Gerhart.
