Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon was supposed to be heading into production on Scream 7 soon – but that project has turned out to be so troubled, he had to activate his ejector seat and get out of there. While he has since been replaced on Scream 7 by Kevin Williamson, he has been busy lining up other genre projects, signing on to direct the werewolf thriller Big Bad and the “fast-paced thriller” Drop. Coming our way from Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes, the production company team that has previously brought us the Purge franchise, Drop is moving forward first. We previously heard that it’s set to star Meghann Fahy, who was recently seen on season 2 of The White Lotus, and now Deadline reports that Fahy is being joined in the cast by Violett Beane (The Flash), Brandon Sklenar (1923), and newcomer Jacob Robinson. Deadline notes that child actor...

A few months ago, director Dwight H. Little – the director of such films as Rapid Fire (starring Brandon Lee), The Phantom of the Opera (starring Robert Englund), the Steven Seagal vehicle Marked for Death, Free Willy 2, the Wesley Snipes mystery Murder at 1600, Anacondas: The Hunt for the Blood Orchid, Tekken, and my favorite of the Halloween sequels, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers – released a memoir called Still Rolling: Inside the Hollywood Dream Factory (copies can be purchased at This Link). In one passage of the book, Little discusses the series of mistakes and oversights that led to Brandon Lee’s tragic shooting death on the set of The Crow. With a remake of The Crow set to reach theatres in June and Rust armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed having just been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the case of the shooting death on the set of that film,...

Could it be that Jack Bauer has clocked out for the very last time?
In a feature interview with the UK’s Telegraph (to promote his and Stephen Fry’s Sky Playhouse Presents two-hander, Marked), Sutherland seems resigned to leave Jack in Russian custody, as he was at the close of last summer’s 24: Live Another Day limited series.
This despite rumblings, from as recent as September, that Imagine Entertainment chairman Brian Grazer was looking to revive the 24 feature film idea.
“Me, I don’t see going back to it,” Sutherland said of the prospect of more 24. “We had...

The first look at Stephen Fry and Kiefer Sutherland in Sky Arts' Marked has been revealed.
The comedy-drama, which forms part of Sky's Playhouse Presents series, sees Sutherland play a debt-ridden character who agrees to perform an assassination for his neighbour.
However, he doesn't expect to run into Fry's Father Christmas in the target's house.
Fry said: "It's so unfair to call Kiefer Jack Bauer because his career has been incredibly rich outside Jack Bauer.
"But to see Kiefer playing such an incompetent character is just blissful. Someone who doesn't know how to load a gun, someone who doesn't know how to climb a gate or do anything... just makes me weep with joy."
Marked airs on Thursday, December 18 at 10pm on Sky Arts 1.
