These days, watching teen dramas feels a little like taking a trip to the library. Studios have always loved established IP, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that so many of today’s biggest YA shows are based on books. There’s Netflix’s Heartstopper, Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty, the recently canceled but still wildly popular Shadow and Bone, and the upcoming We Were Liars, to name just a few. Even Paramount+’s School Spirits was adapted from a not-yet published graphic novel. In recent years, Hollywood has also begun tapping into a new kind of literary source that just might hold the key to the future of teen dramas: BookTok.

Exclusive: Following the conclusion of the WGA strike, which has sent writers scrambling to either dive back into work or look for new opportunities, Roadmap Writers has reopened its free Support Staff Initiative, which helps get scripts from emerging talents in front of execs and literary reps.
The idea, per the initiative’s co-founder Joey Tuccio, is to allow up-and-comers working in television to focus on “their job and/or job hunt,” while Roadmap works to help elevate their careers, hopefully making the transition out of a historic work stoppage just a little bit easier.
Writers looking to apply for the program needn’t currently be working within a writers’ room — all that’s required to be eligible is experience working in a support staff role within the past 18 months. The door is open to writers’ room support staffers of all kinds, including writers assistants, showrunner assistants, Pa’s, script coordinators,...

Dirty Grandpa
Zac Efron let it pretty much all show on the Georgia set of the upcoming comedy "Dirty Grandpa" this week. The actor flashed not just his chiseled torso but was running around in a pair of very tight flesh colored undies that got a little 'crack happy' at points. He did have a stuffed toy covering his manhood though for the scene.
Check out Just Jared for over two dozen photos. Speaking of Efron, his next film due for release "We Are Your Friends," has locked in an August 28th release date.
Ghost in the Shell
