An improvement over the previous two episodes
Despite not having read the books yet, the 1st season got me interested in many ways. The world building was nice, the CGI is really impressive, and had an interesting cast of actors the best coming from Manu Bennett and John Rhys Davies, although it did have some standard fantasy cliches and dialog sometimes. Episode 6 and 5 were decent enough episodes but weren't without their problems. Utopia isn't a perfect episode, but it does improve on the previous ones. Aside from the standard fantasy cliches and dialog like I've already stated, at least the storyline continued to interest me and the characters started to get better. The action is really good, the music score continues to be atmospheric and delivers on the drama. The production design and CGI continue to be well-made and the acting, while not oscar-worthy, is at least above average the best coming from Manu Bennett who continues to bring gravitas and charisma to his role as Allanon. So, overall, not perfect, but still good nonetheless.
