“The Voice” blind auditions for season 25 concluded on Tuesday night with each of the four coaches completing their teams by claiming their 10th initial artist of the season. Sitting in one of the chairs for the second straight season, “Queen of Country” Reba McEntire faced direct competition with one other country-leaning team to compete against. The 10 artists representing her will next take stage for The Battles beginning March 18, but first we want to know who is your favorite artist on Team Reba? Vote in the poll below.
Though Reba wasn’t able to clinch any four-chair turn decisions this season, she managed to best two other teams in three-way contests that brought over Asher HaVon with “Set Fire to the Rain” and Elyscia Jefferson with “P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).” She was also the biggest threat to the other coaches because both Chance the Rapper and Dan + Shay...

There’s plenty to look forward to in Hulu’s incoming slate, including the latest “American Horror Story” installment, BAFTA winner “The Banshees of Inisherin,” and new “The Kardashians.” But unfortunately, the streamer has to lose to gain, and new content means a library cleanout.
Throughout the month, Hulu will lose nearly 100 movies and series to make room, including multiple entries in “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” franchises, Wes Anderson’s “The Grand Budapest Hotel,” and many others.

Country-pop star Carrie Underwood opened the first two shows of Guns N’ Roses ‘ 2023 North American tour, and she worked a handful of rock classics into her setlist on each occasion.
Underwood’s first support slot for Gn’R came this past Saturday (August 5th) in Moncton, New Brunswick, where she opened with Joan Jett’s “Bad Reputation” and played Pat Benatar’s “Hit Me with Your Best Shot,” The Rolling Stones’ “Wild Horses,” Led Zeppelin’s “Rock and Roll,” and lastly and most notably, the Motörhead staple “Ace of Spades.”
Hearing Underwood and her band take on a song bordering on heavy metal is a treat, proving that the singer can pull off heavy music with as much energy and conviction as her standard Nashville fare. Of course, it also appeals to the crowd largely consisting of Gn’R fans.

Carrie Underwood, as both a country singer and an American Idol winner, knows that the stakes are high and the odds are against her as the opening act for Guns N’ Roses. But as she has been proving this week, she’s willing to gamble — just like Motörhead’s late frontman Lemmy Kilmister. At gigs in Moncton, New Brunswick, and Montreal in the past few days, she’s included a raucous rendition of Kilmister’s calling card, “Ace of Spades,” in her set list.

The Rolling Stones built their reputation by playing blue-blooded rock music. Yet many of their No. 1 hits were heartstring-tugging ballads. Here are some of The Rolling Stones’ best ballads from their 60-year career.
(l-r) Rolling Stones members Bill Wyman, Charlie Watts, Mick Jagger, Mick Taylor, and Keith Richards | Pa Images via Getty Images 1. ‘As Tears Go By’
The Rolling Stones essentially covered this song by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. They handed it to Marianne Faithfull (Jagger’s girlfriend at the time), who recorded her version first.
Somehow, the 20-something Jagger convincingly conveyed the longing and loneliness of old age with just a few lines of lyrics in a song lasting less than three minutes. The gently plucked acoustic guitar and syrupy strings added to the effect. The Stones dropped the folk-tinged “As Tears Go By” in 1966, and it stands as one of their finest ballads decades later.

Spoiler Alert: Do not read ahead if you have not watched the Season 9, episode 14 season finale of “The Masked Singer,” which aired May 17 on Fox.
Like a river, Bishop Briggs kept a steady flow throughout Season 9 of Fox’s “The Masked Singer” — and her perseverance was rewarded with the championship. Briggs, as Medusa, won this season’s top prize and was finally unmasked on Wednesday night’s finale, along with runner-up David Archuleta, revealed as the Macaw.
Briggs, who performed the most of any contestant this season, sealed her victory with performances of “Elastic Heart,” by Sia, and “Welcome to the Black Parade,” by My Chemical Romance. Although Briggs said singing under the Medusa costume was a challenge, she pointed out that it was nothing compared to what she did last year.

A new season of The Masked Singer has begun, and one performer already has the fans and judges divided: The Medusa. She made her debut on the season 9 premiere and took the crown as Queen of the episode, leaving her identity a mystery for at least another week. The Masked Singer judges couldn’t agree on a name for Medusa, but many viewers (including us) are convinced she’s a well-known British vocalist.

Last July, Garth Brooks was forced to make a last-minute cancellation of his show at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium when dangerous weather conditions rolled through just before he was supposed to go onstage.
The possibility of rain and storms hung in the air for the country star’s first of two rescheduled Stadium Tour dates on Friday, but Brooks wasn’t going to be thwarted this time.
“I’ve never seen rain like that,” Brooks told the crowd in Nashville at the beginning of his set. “Thank you for giving us a second chance!

Pandemic? What pandemic? That seemed to be the vibe among the 68,000 people at Garth Brooks’ concert at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Saturday night, the first major stadium concert anywhere in the U.S. since the arrival of Covid-19.
Social distancing? Nope. Masks? Maybe a few wore them. Heck, Brooks even shared M&m’s with the crowd at one point.
While there is certainly some trepidation about a mass indoor gathering right now — especially with the emergence of the more transmissible delta variant — the semblance of normalcy outweighed everything else on Saturday night.

When Keith Richards first met Gram Parsons in 1968, he felt he’d known him all his life. “There was an immediate recognition,” he wrote in his autobiography, Life. “What we could have done if we’d known each other earlier.”

By the time she turned 13, “Punky Brewster” star Soleil Moon Frye had done more to impact pop culture than most Americans will in their lifetime. But once the show was canceled in 1988, things stalled. That’s roughly when Frye started carrying a video camera practically everywhere she went, documenting a one-in-a-million adolescence that was anything but the squeaky-clean, always-sunny sitcom that had made her famous. Nor will it seem very relatable to those who idolized the fellow celebs she called friends, even if you spent the decade with their faces pinned to your walls.
With “Kid 90,” Frye opens “Pandora’s box” — as she calls the archive of video cassettes, diary entries, answering machine messages and so forth that she kept locked away for more than 20 years — bracing herself for what she might find, and how those memories might make her feel. Fifty years ago this Sunday, the Rolling Stones released Gimme Shelter, the infamous documentary that started as a look at the final days of the British bad boys’ legendary 1969 tour, leading up to the disastrous free concert at Altamont Speedway. Billy Joe Shaver, the outlaw-country original who wrote classic songs for the likes of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings and whose “Live Forever” was performed by Robert Duvall in the 2009 Best Picture Oscar nominee Crazy Heart, died today after a stroke in Waco, TX. He was 81. A friend confirmed his death to our sister publication Rolling Stone.
Although Shaver never had much commercial success as a recording artist, he is widely considered among country’s greatest songwriters. All but one of the tracks on Jennings’ 1973 album Honky Tonk Heroes — an early benchmark of the “outlaw country” genre — were written or co-written by Shaver, including its famous title cut. His best-known songs also include “Ain’t No God in Mexico” “I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal (But I’m Gonna Be a Diamond Some Day),” “Georgia on a Fast Train,” “Tramp on Your Street” and “Try and Try Again.

Jimmy Johnson, the guitarist for the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section (a.k.a. “the Swampers”) whose foundational R&b-based playing could be heard on hundreds of records, including iconic hits by Aretha Franklin, Paul Simon, Wilson Pickett and Lynyrd Skynyrd, died at the age of 76. His death was confirmed by his son Jay Johnson, who did not reveal a cause of death. “He is gone,” his son wrote on Facebook. “Playing music with the angels now.”

Last summer, we offered a special photo gallery of the 50 greatest entertainers still waiting to be selected for the Kennedy Center Honors. Among that group were country music superstar Reba McEntire plus pop star and Oscar-winning actress Cher. Both of them were in the honorees in December, along with composer Philip Glass and jazz musician Wayne Shorter, plus a unique section devoted to “Hamilton!.”
And now we provide our latest list of Kennedy Center Honors top 50 recommendations for 2019. Of course, only five of them can be chosen but certainly all are worthy. Tour our photo gallery above ranked from #1 to #50. Each year, the selection committee chooses five entertainment veterans from a variety of fields – film, television, popular music, theatre, and the fine arts. Selected artists are almost always over 50 and generally are 60 and beyond.

It’s been nearly 60 years since the Rolling Stones stormed out of their sleepy London town to become “the world’s greatest rock & roll band,” and, in that time, they’ve put out more than two-dozen greatest-hits compilations. The best of the best-ofs (Forty Licks, Grrr!) provide a broad survey of all the big hits, high tide and green grass the band has staked their claim to over the years — but the more interesting sets shine their lights on smaller slivers of the Stones’ catalogue.

So much for dreaming a dream. Over the past week fans of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” have been voting in our poll that asked whether Susan Boyle was robbed in Monday’s season finale, and today we can report that a whopping 83% said yes. “Susan deserved so much more from ‘Agt,'” voted the loud majority. As for the other 17% of poll respondents, they argued that Susan simply “wasn’t strong enough” to make the top five. What do You think? Be sure to sound off down in the comments section.

Susan Boyle, the iconic singer who made the “Got Talent” franchise a worldwide phenomenon a decade ago, was just whisked off of the “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” stage like rubbish during the season finale, and I’m not okay with that. After traveling all the way to America from her home in Scotland, this humble artist deserved better after being eliminated on Monday night. Do you agree with me that Susan was robbed of her time in the spotlight? Vote down in our poll below.

Susan Boyle has returned in triumph to the franchise that launched her career in 2009. While she was only runner-up on “Britain’s Got Talent,” she could well win the first season of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” with this stunning performance of her signature song “I Dreamed a Dream.” Above, you can watch her win over the crowd and judges in this video that leaked in advance of the finale on Monday, February 11.

Cristina Ramos still can’t believe she is going to be in the final of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” This rock opera singer, who’d won “Spain’s Got Talent” in 2016, readily admits in a post-show interview that she was shocked when she won more votes from the superfans than ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer.
After all, that teen talent had won “Agt” in 2017 and has gone on to headline her own live show as well as a Christmas special that earned high ratings for NBC. While Darci Lynn was well-known to the voters, who are long-time viewers of “America’s Got Talent,” Cristina was a complete mystery. And, as she explains in the video above, that might have been what gave her the edge.

Episode 1 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” included a return appearance by Bianca Hale, the singer who launched the franchise back in 2006 when she won season 1 of “Agt.” She did not make it through to the final. Hoping for better luck on episode 3, which airs on NBC on January 21, is opera singer Paul Potts, who claimed victory in the first season of “Britain’s Got Talent” back in 2007.

Cristina Ramos did something on the second episode of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” that no other act had been able to accomplish. She got more votes on the January 14 episode than Darci Lynne Farmer, the singing ventriloquist who won “Agt” in 2017. By winning over enough of the superfans, Ramos secured a place in the final.
She won “Spain’s Got Talent” in 2016 with her wild mash-ups of rock songs and opera. Now she could well win the first season of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.” Ramos first came to fame in her native Spain when she wowed the judges and audiences with her over-the-top style of singing. She mixes musical genres, including opera rock and disco into an unique sound. Add to that her theatrical performances and she could be a real contender.

Light Balance came close to winning season 12 of “America’s Got Talent” in 2017. They placed third behind ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer and child singer Angelica Hale. This Ukrainian dance troupe has returned stateside to compete on “America’s Got Talent: The Champions.”

In the 18 months since she won “America’s Got Talent,” singing ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer has become one of the franchise’s biggest success stories. "I'm a champion for those who maybe don't have the confidence to do things and for those who maybe don't have a voice; the ones who people tend to ignore. I feel I'm a champion for them. So I couldn't possibly walk away from a second chance to prove myself. I just thought I had an unfulfilled promise." For Susan Boyle, the decision to return to the world's stage for America's Got Talent: The Champions nearly a decade after becoming a global sensation on Britain's Got Talent was born from an idea of redemption.
