Carly Reeves wasn’t pleased about being the first person eliminated on season 2 of ABC’s Claim to Fame. The niece of Oscar-winner Tom Hanks gave an awards-worthy performance of her own – complete with an ear-splitting scream and tears – after a fellow contestant correctly guessed the Saving Private Ryan star was her uncle in the show’s June 26 episode.
Reeves’ connection to Hanks landed her a spot on the competition series, which brings together a group of 12 celebrity relatives and challenges them to discover the identity of each other’s famous family members. But that’s not her only celebrity connection. Reeves may have also worked at Lisa Vanderpump’s Sur.
Ariana Madix’s friend recognizes Carly Reeves
Reeves’ possible Sur connection was revealed by Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix’s Bff Logan Cochran.

Alicia Silverstone isn’t shutting the door on the Dcu.
Twenty-six years after she played Batgirl in 1997’s “Batman and Robin,” the “Clueless” icon told IndieWire that she is open to reprising the role.
“If somebody wants me to play Batgirl, and they’re incredible, I’m in,” Silverstone told IndieWire during the Tribeca Film Festival while promoting horror film “Perpetrator.”
Writer-director Jennifer Reeder added, “I’m not done with her, now that I’ve got her close. I keep promising to make more films with her, which we will absolutely do. Maybe ‘Batgirl.'”
Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck appear as two versions of Batman in the upcoming multiverse movie “The Flash,” opening the door to numerous iterations of the same characters. George Clooney portrayed the Caped Crusader opposite Silverstone in “Batman and Robin,” directed by Joel Schumacher. A “Flash” sequel is rumored to be in the works.

A veteran producer and sales agent once told me that, for a billion dollars, anyone could buy their way into the Oscar race for Best Picture. In recent months, that prediction proved altogether generous.
While not a Best Picture contender, Andrea Riseborough’s performance in “To Leslie” demonstrated the potential of DIY campaigning to chart a surprising path into a major Oscar category. Controversial or not, and despite all the potential campaign violations it raised, Riseborough’s Best Actress nomination got the attention of other established actors who work on low-budget movies with limited resources. As one veteran awards consultant told me this week, “People are now going to say, ‘Where’s my Andrea Riseborough campaign?’”
The answer to that question requires some meticulous number-crunching as well as ample chutzpah. The Oscar race is often a Trojan horse for cinema that would go otherwise unrecognized by the U.S. industry,...

People showing up at your door without warning can put you in an imposition. Meanwhile, people arriving at your place soaked in blood in another story altogether. What’s your first question for this guest? Do you help them hide the body? Julianne Moore is about to find out because Apple Original Films is ready to cast the leads of Echo Valley, a thriller with a script from Mare of Easttown creator Brad Ingelsby. The project stars Moore and Sydney Sweeney as a mother-daughter duo. Michael Pearce directs from Ingelsby’s script, with production from Scott Free Films and The Walsh Company.
In Echo Valley, Moore plays Kate Garrett, a woman recovering from a personal tragedy while boarding and training horses at Echo Valley Far, twenty-two remote, Bob Ross painting-worthy acres in Southeastern Pennsylvania. In the middle of the night, Kate’s recalcitrant daughter, Claire (Sweeney), is covered in blood at her doorstep beside herself.

The first look image from My Mother’s Wedding, the directorial debut from Kristin Scott Thomas, has been released. The film stars Scarlett Johansson, Sienna Miller, and Emily Beecham.
Principle photography on the film — which Scott Thomas co-wrote with John Micklethwait — has been completed. The film follows the story of three sisters who return to their childhood home for the third wedding of their twice-widowed mother, Diana. The three daughters now lead very different lives: Georgina, a palliative nurse; Victoria, a Hollywood star; and Katherine, a captain in the Royal Navy. Over the weekend, the family gathers to celebrate a new marriage, but mother and daughters alike are forced to revisit the past and confront the future, with help from a colorful group of unexpected wedding guests.
The cast includes Academy award nominee Scarlett Johansson, BAFTA award nominee Sienna Miller, and Cannes Best Actress winner Emily Beecham, who play the sisters. Academy award nominee and BAFTA award-winner Scott Thomas plays Diana Frost, their mother.
This marks the third time Scott Thomas and Johansson have played mother and daughter since 1998’s The Horse Whisperer.
“I have wanted to direct for a long time and it was thrilling to create this fictional family using my own childhood memories as a springboard,” said Kristin Scott Thomas. “Directing and acting with such talented actresses and reuniting with Scarlett Johansson has been exhilarating.”
The cast is filled out by BAFTA award nominee, Freida Pinto, Sindhu Vee, Joshua McGuire, Mark Stanley, Thibault de Montalembert and Samson Kayo.
Additional credits include director of photography Yves Belanger, BAFTA award-winning Production Designer Andrew McAlpine, Casting Director Lucy Bevan, Editor Gary Dollner, Costume Designer Sinead Kidao, and Academy award nominated Hair and Make-Up Designer Daniel Phillips.
CAA Media Finance, which arranged financing for the film, represents domestic rights.

Sienna Miller starred opposite Ben Affleck in the 2016 gangster drama “Live by Night,” which Affleck also directed. The Warner Bros. release starred Affleck as a bootlegger turned gangster and Miller as his love interest, who also happens to be the mistress of a powerful mob boss. According to Miller, her chemistry with Affleck hardly burned the screen down.
“Ben Affleck was like my brother [on set],” Miller said on “The Drew Barrymore Show” (via EW). “I’ve never laughed so much in my life. I mean that sounds like a ridiculous thing to say and like a name dropping thing to say, but I actually mean it.”
“We had zero chemistry whatsoever. It was hysterical,” Miller added. “We were supposed to be in love. We could not be less attracted to each other, which was hysterical. He has an enormous head, I have a small one, so they’d have to like...

When looking at Grammy nominations for 2022, you might notice that there are a few cover songs nominated. As per Grammy rules, a cover can only be submitted in a performance category or in an arrangement category; they’re not eligible for songwriting since they were written in a previous eligibility period, or sometimes before the Grammys were even created. This year I think three covers seem to be in a good position to win: Jason Isbell’s “All I Do is Drive,” Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga’s “I Get a Kick Out of You,” and Chris Cornell’s “Nothing Compares 2 U.” But just how common is it for covers to prevail?
Country is one of the fields with the most covers winning. A few of the most recent wins have included “Gentle On My Mind” by The Band Perry (originally performed by John Hartford), “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker...

American Woman and Black Mass star Sienna Miller has been awarded a substantial payout from the Sun parent News UK after the newspaper obtained details of her pregnancy in 2005 via what she believes to be “blatantly unlawful means.”
The star is one of a number of celebrities including Sean Bean, Australian cricketer Shane Warne and UK footballer Paul Gascoigne to have received payouts this week from Rupert Murdoch’s company, following a scandal that was first revealed a decade ago.
In a statement read out in the UK High Court, Miller said then-Sun editor Rebekah Brooks, who is now News UK CEO, used “blatantly unlawful means” to find out she was pregnant before she had even had a chance to tell friends and family. Fifteen years ago, Sienna Miller was that model-turned-actress who was dating Jude Law. Heavy tabloid attention gave way to a years-long hiatus from the screen which in turn gave way to a return for Miller in a big way. She gave one of her best performances (and one of the best performances by anyone in recent years) in American Woman, directed by Jake Scott, and has emerged as one of our most talented working performers.
We had the pleasure of speaking with Miller about her new film Wander Darkly (which is available this Friday in theaters and on demand), the challenges of filming something so tricky and twisty in less than a month, and finding the reality in the most labyrinthian of sequences.

To put it mildly, Sienna Miller is doing the work. Despite roles in major studio flicks such as “American Sniper” or “21 Bridges,” the British actress continues to make time for more challenging indie fare such as her lauded performance in the “American Woman” last year. Now, she’s back with another impressive turn in 2020 Sundance Film Festival selection “Wander Darkly,” which is finally available for public consumption this week.

Halsey has channeled her talent for writing prolific and poetic lyrics into a book of poems that has our hearts feeling red, blue, and purple all over. I Would Leave Me If I Could, which was released on Nov. 10, is Halsey's first book of poems and was written with the intention of dismantling conventional ideas of "what it means to be a feminist in search of power." Much like her music, the autobiographical poems covers topics such as mental health, sexuality, relationships, longing, love, and more. The cover of the book also features an original piece of artwork by Halsey titled "American Woman."

After the first two episodes of “The Voice” Season 19 blind auditions, coach Kelly Clarkson had an early lead with five artists on her team: Joseph Soul, Eli Zamora, Marisa Corvo, Madeline Consoer and Ryan Gallagher. Meanwhile, Kelly’s co-judges Blake Shelton, John Legend and Gwen Stefani each had four artists apiece heading into the third episode. Since her stellar turn in 2019’s underseen “American Woman,” Sienna Miller has been mounting a renaissance as an actor deserving of more than the put-upon wife roles she took on in films like “American Sniper” and “Foxcatcher.” Tara Miele’s darkly surreal romance “Wander Darkly” offers another showcase for Miller as a woman haunted by trauma after a violent accident involving her partner Mateo (Diego Luna) that throws the pair down a dizzying rabbit hole. Lionsgate is planning an awards push for the film, which is launching in select theaters and on VOD December 11. Watch the first official trailer below.
Here’s the official synopsis: “In ‘Wander Darkly,’ a traumatic accident leaves a couple, Adrienne (Miller) and Matteo (Luna), in a surreal state of being that takes them on a disorienting journey through the duality of their shared moments. By reliving fond recollections from the beginning of their romance while...

H.E.R. competed against host Jimmy Fallon in a “Guitar Solo Battle” – which, if anything, was more of a showcase of the musician’s impressive solo-playing skills – on Thursday night’s The Tonight Show.
Calling in over video feed, H.E.R. was tasked with performing three of the most iconic guitar solos of all time: The Guess Who’s “American Woman”, Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” and Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy.” H.E.R. passed the test with flying colors, playing along with the Tonight Show‘s in-house band the Roots.

"I never wanted to be in this alone." Elevation Pics from Canada has debuted an official trailer for an indie true story thriller titled American Woman, marking the feature directorial debut of award-winning writer / producer Semi Chellas. Not to be confused with that Sienna Miller disappearance drama from last year also titled American Woman, or the recent TV show also called "American Woman"; this is a different story. Inspired by the headline-dominating kidnapping of heiress Patty Hearst in 1974, this atmospheric drama is a fictionalized re-imagining of her time in hiding, from the perspective of Jenny, a political activist assigned to take care of her. Starring Hong Chau as Jenny, with Sarah Gadon, John Gallagher Jr., Lola Kirke, David Cubitt, and Ellen Burstyn. Looks like a rather intriguing film revisiting a real story from history. Here's the official Canadian trailer (+ poster) for Semi Chellas' American Woman, direct from YouTube: Inspired...
