- Poseidon's high priest Melas, blackmailed by Pasiphae holding his adopted daughter Cassandra, pronounces the sentence of death by burning alive in the brass bull over 'blasphemer' Jason. Ariadne dares not question the divine verdict, Pythagoras's pleas can't convince Hercules to make his beloved, finally liberated Medusa admit and stand for the truth: she's the oracle-killer who should perish, not the noble hero. An elaborate plot to free Jason and sneak him out only sees Hercules caught, sentenced to share his horrible fate. Loyal general Delmos helps Ariadne attempt freeing them, only to be caught and be toppled in a palace coup arranged by council traitor Cilix to put Pasiphae on the throne. With all at stake, freed Hercules finally confronts Medusa.—KGF Vissers
