Bhaiyya Ji Box Office Collection Day 8: Fares Well (Photo Credit –Facebook)
On its second Friday, Bhaiyya Ji registered fair collections at the box office. There was Cinema Lovers Day announced as well but that catered primarily to multiplexes. Since Bhaiyaaji is a single-screen movie, the ticket rates are comparatively much lower right from the beginning anyway.
As a result, there was no real benefit that came the film’s way. As a result, what the film saw was normal trending rather than any upheaval of sorts.Collections on the second Friday came to 55 lakhs and considering the fact that there are other new releases too that hit the screens, the collections are fair.
On Thursday, Bhaiyya Ji had collected 65 lakhs, so numbers closer to that or even better, around 75 lakhs, would have been a better proposition. However, thankfully the film didn’t fall much either so that’s some relief as well.

Sasquatch Sunset directors Nathan and David Zellner always wondered what these hairy giants do when they’re not walking – the only Bigfoot footage available has been a minute of a supposed Sasquatch wandering in the northern California woods. They decided to flesh that out in unique dialogue-free comedic imagining of the creatures’ daily life – eating, fighting, etc. Stars Jesse Eisenberg, Riley Keough, Christophe Zajac-Denek and Nathan Zellner are unrecognizable as the hairy tribe of four that entranced Sundance (see Deadline review). Bleecker Street is opening the film, written by David Zellner, executive produced by Ari Aster, in 9 theaters in New York, LA, San Francisco and Austin, ahead of a big jump to about 800 screens next week.

Is Kacey Musgraves‘s new album, “Deeper Well,” a return to form? Her “Golden Hour,” which reveled in wedded bliss, was critically hailed and won the Grammy for Album of the Year. But then her follow-up “Star-Crossed,” which chronicled her divorce, received somewhat less enthusiastic notices and only scored two noms. Now three years later comes her latest studio release, which dropped on March 15. What do music journalists think of this one?
“Deeper Well’s” reviews are currently more in line with “Star-Crossed” than “Golden Hour,” though “Golden Hour” would be a tough bar for any artist to clear. As of this writing “Well” has an impressive score of 79 on MetaCritic based on 11 reviews counted: nine of them positive, two somewhat mixed and none outright negative.
Roisin O’Connor (The Independent UK) is the most effusive, calling “Deeper Well” a “revelation” compared to “the somewhat limp results” of “Star-Crossed.” The album...

On her sixth studio album, Deeper Well, Kacey Musgraves digs into both her psyche and the sounds of folk music, making for an affecting and mellow set of songs. The album kicks off with the crystalline, fingerpicked intro of “Cardinal,” an almost startling introduction given the pop-heavy sound of Musgraves’s last album, Star-Crossed, before giving way to a more contemporary acoustic-guitar passage as the singer muses about lost loved ones. It’s an intimate and effective tone-setter for the rest of the album, as many of the songs here revolve around memory and loss.
The title track establishes the thesis of Deeper Well: “I’m saying goodbye to the people/That I feel are real good at wasting my time/No regrets, baby, I just think that maybe/You go your way and I’ll go mine.” The gentle guitars and unobtrusive drumming create a soundscape that echoes the...

Article 370 Box Office Collection (After 18 Days) (Photo Credit – Instagram)
It was a stable Monday for Article 370 as 0.90 crore* came in. This is on the expected lines since Friday collections were 1.90 crores, and a drop of around 50% was on the cards. More so since, just like Shaitaan, even Article 370 has benefitted from the partial holiday of Mahashivratri on Friday. Hence, the numbers which have actually come in on Monday are relatively stable.
The film has done its job anyway and is collecting bonus numbers. The major target for the film was to aim for that 75 crore lifetime, and in fact, this milestone would be hit this weekend itself. The Yami Gautam starrer has already reached 70.96 crores* and will be in excess of 73.50 crores by the time the third week is through. Post that, it should hold on well on Friday and then grow all over again on Saturday despite the release...

Fighter Box Office Collection (After 30 Days) ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Despite being in its fifth week and continued competition from Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya and new releases Article 370 and Crakk, Fighter managed to hold well on Friday. With Cinema Lovers Day coming into the picture and tickets being made available for just Rs. 99, there were enhanced footfalls for the Hrithik Roshan starrer. The film now has restricted showcasing for itself, but still, the occupancy was quite good wherever it was playing, especially at the premium multiplexes.
As a result, 0.75 crore* came in, which is, in fact, a few lakhs more than what it had scored the day before. The film has managed to keep the interest alive amongst the audiences, and that’s what’s allowing the exhibitors to continue their faith in it and give it some shows. Otherwise, with other options already in hand, they may well have drawn curtains on Fighter.

Dunki Box Office: Shah Rukh Khan Is The Only Indian Actor To Surpass 2500 Crore+ In A Single Year; No One Even Crossed The 1500 Crore Mark… (Picture Credit: IMDb)
2023 will always be remembered as the year in which Shah Rukh Khan made his comeback! After delivering duds back to back, King Khan took four years, one month & 4 days to not only return to the big screen but deliver two back-to-back 1000 crore grossers in Pathaan & Jawan.
Not only that, his third release of the year, Dunki, has surpassed the 300 crore club (at the worldwide box office) within a week of its release. With this, Shah has become the only actor in the history of Indian cinema to earn the gargantuan number of 2500 crore+ in a single year.

From Dunki Box Office To Don 2: All The Last Films Of The Year & Their Collections (Picture Credit: IMDb)
Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is officially closing the year for Bollywood and will probably touch the 200 crore mark with three days remaining to hit the theaters. The film performed unexpectedly low as it was assumed to be a banger coming from the powerful duo of Rajkumar Hirani and Srk. However, nothing of the sort happened.
As the social drama is crawling towards the next leg, it has already surpassed the 150 crore mark at the box office. The film aims to hit 200 crore mark as the year 2023 closes. However, it would be a tough number to achieve since it would mean earning 50 crores in 4 days with all the New Year festivities.
But Dunki might be the go-to film for the families who generally aim for theater outings at the end of the year.

Box Office – Dunki holds well on Wednesday, crosses 150 crores (Picture Credit: Facebook)
After seeing a drop of around 40% on Tuesday, Dunki held well on Wednesday as numbers fell by less than 10%. While Tuesday collections stood at 11.56 crores, Wednesday was 10.50 crores, which is good as this means that double digit numbers have been maintained right till the close of first week.
The film was released on Thursday so technically, Wednesday was the last day of the week for it. Of course you do expect much higher numbers from a Shah Rukh Khan starrer, especially if one looks at the way his (and other major) films have done this year.
However, now it’s all about maintaining at decent levels at least so that 200 crores mark can be crossed comfortably. This Wednesday hold has resulted in 152.01 crores been collected and now ensured that the film will enter the 200 Crore Club soon and...

The latest from “The Platform” co-producers Mr Miyagi and rising shock meister Hugo Cardozo will be sneak peeked as pix-in-post at this year’s Ventana Sur Blood Window Screenings.
Both are sold, and Cardozo’s “Do Not Enter” produced by Guido Rud’s FilmSharks as sales agents, as this week’s American Film Market attests, are driving ever more into horror genre.
Unlike action thrillers and romantic comedies, the other go-to movie types in a market ever more attuned to streamer tastes, that could be that horror doesn’t need name actors. Mister Smith Ent.’s David Garrett said before the AFM.
Latin American genre is not so much as fitting into market trends as a push-phenomenon driven by genre fanboys and girls. Two at least make the cut, with Argentina’s Jose María Cicala, who will introduce his “Charming,” and Peru’s young Farid Rodríguez, who multi-tasks as a film and fest director,...

Post ‘3 Idiots’ producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra as director offers yet another awe inspiring story to the audience. For audience who must be fans of ‘3 idiots’ might find fleeting similarities on a couple of occasions. For instance, ‘3 Idiots’ created the catch phrase ‘Aal Izz Well’, ’12th Fail’ should be credited for ‘Restart’, which might prove to be of great significance for every student at any level, in any stream. There is also a scene inspired by the ‘definition of machine’ scene in ‘3 Idiots’ that works bang on.
A scene in the final reels summarises the crux of the story idea or the theme. When Manoj Kumar Sharma (Vikrant Massey) visits a Dsp (Priyanshu Chatterjee), is greeted with a salute; he informs who he is to the pleasant surprise of the Dsp who remembers the student who had failed in class 12 but was inspired with the Dsp and vowed to become one.

"This could be our chance at a better life..." Well Go USA has revealed an official trailer for an indie thriller titled Your Lucky Day, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Dan Brown (not the author). This just premiered at Fantastic Fest a few weeks ago, and it's opening in November. After a dispute over a winning lottery ticket turns into a deadly hostage situation, the witnesses must decide exactly how far they’ll go—and how much blood they’re willing to spill—for a cut of the $156 million prize. Greed and desperation rules America. Ff describes it as "pressure cooker of a morality tale. Effortlessly charismatic, with a canny ability to telegraph the contradictory emotions & restless impulses of marginalized characters, Your Lucky Day marks one of the final performances of the unique young talent whose life was tragically cut short in July of this year." The film...

Donald Trump challenged President Biden, Rupert Murdoch and more to a mental acuity test in another angry Truth Social rant, fueled by the confidence of “acing” his last one. But, as MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” hosts argued, this idea would definitely “not work out well” for Trump “on so many levels.”
Trump’s latest screed came Sunday in response to a new poll from the Wall Street Journal, which asked voters for their thoughts on both Biden and Trump’s age and mental state, in relation to being president again.
“In a phony and probably rigged Wall Street Journal poll, coming out of nowhere to softened [sic] the mental incompetence blow that is so obvious with Crooked Joe Biden, they ask about my age and mentality,” Trump wrote. “Where did that come from?”

Time for a voyage unlike any other. This lovely animated short is worth 9 minutes of your time to discover. Well Wishes My Love, Your Love is the creation of an animation filmmaker named Gabriel Gabriel Garble. It premiered at the Ann Arbor Film Festival last year, and played at many fests including Sundance earlier this year. Here's the one-liner: "A boy lends his friend a prosthetic arm for the day." It's much more than just that... He straps a GoPro onto the arm and takes it for an adventure out into the world. Our friends at Short of the Week refer to it as a "gentle" short film and I like that. They add: "[the film] is often referred to as psychedelic in reviews, but also as having remarkable fidelity to the real world. Which is it? Can it be both? [The visuals] with the synthetic aural soundscape have an interesting effect of not transforming the natural,...

It’s been nearly 30 years since Jenn Champion first began illuminating the darker sides of life with her songcraft and, now, the former Carissa’s Wierd vocalist is back with a new album. Exclusive: MTV Documentary Films has acquired worldwide rights to Pay or Die, a heart wrenching film about Americans living with diabetes who face a cruel choice: pay the “extortionate” cost of insulin charged by pharmaceutical companies or risk death.
Scott Alexander Ruderman and Rachael Dyer directed and produced the documentary, which premiered in March at SXSW. MTV Documentary Films plans a theatrical release later this year, followed by a debut on streaming platform Paramount+.
“Today, nearly two-million Americans living with diabetes are being held hostage by the pharmaceutical industry, as many cannot afford insulin,” notes a release about the documentary. “Without this life-sustaining drug, they will be dead in days. Access to this drug has become increasingly more difficult, as the cost to patients in America soars. Pay or Die follows families struggling to afford their medications and reveals the harrowing reality of living with a chronic illness in the richest country in the world.

The countdown is on: We are 90 seconds from midnight, according to the people behind the so-called Doomsday Clock, which in their terms means we’re closer to the end of the world than ever before. But Stephen Colbert has a solution: Drink more.
Or as he put it in his monologue on Wednesday’s “The Late Show,” “It’s 5:00 somewhere!”
Colbert played the video which showed the people behind the Doomsday Clock standing awkwardly after announcing the end of the world is coming soon. Their facial expressions were blank, and they didn’t show any emotions. Colbert said with the time ticking – they needed to make these final seconds worth it.
“That pause was 90 seconds,” Colbert said. “Shouldn’t we all be dead by now? Guys you just said the world is ending – do something: run, scream, have an orgy – it’s bone o’clock.”

It’s a pretty quiet Wednesday for Netflix today, but three new titles have been added to the streaming service all the same. And these fresh additions are made up of a foreign language film, a brand new Netflix Original documentary series and, er, pretty much one of the worst horror and/or comedy movies ever made.
Here are the three titles dropping on the site this Wednesday, August 12th:
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl (2020) N Scary Movie 5 (2013) (Un)Well (Season 1) N
Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl is an Indian Hindi-language biopic which tells the inspirational story of Gunjan Saxena (as played by Janhvi Kapoor), the first ever female pilot to serve in the Indian Air Force during combat. As with many other movies this year, it was supposed to reach cinemas a few months back but its theatrical release was cancelled due to the pandemic, with Netflix stepping in to distribute instead.
