Krystal White is not a professionally trained dancer, however, she has always loved to dance. She learned the choreography for A Desert Sonata in a month.
The reptile featured in the film is a Jackson's three-horned chameleon.
The desert footage was filmed in Kern County in mid-summer, in a field where the temperatures were so high that the interior of Krystal's car melted.
The concept for A Desert Sonata came to Krystal White in her sleep. In a dream, she saw a boy being dragged in a bright desert juxtaposed with images of a boy and girl passionately dancing in a dark theatre. She woke up and immediately began writing.
