The Worst Yet.

I've always been a fan of the Nostalgia Critic ever since I found out about him back in about 2010, he was funny, he made valid points, and even introduced me to movies I probably wouldn't have seen in his more positive lists like Doug's Top 20 Favourite Movies, which introduced me to the film Brazil and A Clockwork Orange. But ever since he made his big comeback in (what I like to call) the white wall era, I've noticed a few changes, like his reviews now following plot lines, the addition of side actors (Malcolm and Rachel, who would later be replaced with Tamra, and occasionally Rob), and sketches throughout the episodes and although I don't hate these things, it does make me ask the question "why fix what's not broken?". He was great before, why change what people already loved?

I say all this because it leads me to what I hate about this review, we see nothing of the actual movie, it's all recreated through sketches, so when he tries to tell a joke about the movie, unless you've already seen the film, how are you supposed to get it? For example if he said "this actor in the film looks like this celebrity", how would we find it funny, we can't see the actor. This can be applied to almost every joke in this review. But that aside, are the sketches funny? Far from it, I didn't laugh once throughout this review because its all trying to satire the movie through the sketches, but I have no idea what exactly is being satirized because I haven't seen the movie, and if I had seen the movie, why would I need to see a review of it? I've already got my own opinions on it.

So in conclusion, just stay far away from this episode, luckily he did a very good review of Planet of the Apes (2001) after this, but that doesn't make up for this dreadful episode, honestly people you'll be wishing for another Bart's Nightmare lets play when watching this train wreck, it's that bad.

1/10 - Underwhelming is an understatement.

Warning: Spoilers
To be honest, I didn't like this episode, at all...

I didn't find it funny, I know a lot of people did but good lord, unless you saw the movie, let alone memorised the whole thing then the jokes get confusing. I know a lot of people have seen it seeing as it's one of the highest grossing movies so far but still, not everyone has seen the movie. I don't like the skits replacing the clip and while I understand using the actual movie clips would get him into trouble, why did he review it NOW? He could have waited to review it later, unless he saw the hype train and tried to get more views from currently viewing Jurassic World fans. I thought the jokes were bland mostly with a couple of exceptions and has suffered the problem the new NC episodes had for some time now, he is forcefully reacting or seems way too quiet, I do like some of his new episodes but lately, I was turned off by them and this was no different. The review was nit-picky and his other episodes, even his older ones can be nit-picky as well but they at least were made more funny, I fell asleep watching this one. Bart's Nightmare, the one many considered the worst episode I found funnier than this, I know that's a broad statement but honestly that's how I feel, in Bart's Nightmare, I laughed when he tried to scream to be funny, very few times but still more than this, the ending was also so strange it was funny. This one feels so bland and it seems so detached I couldn't take the review seriously, especially when their skits don't portray the clip with the points he's trying to make. This is really really boring... I haven't seen Hocus Pocus yet but I hear it's nothing but the skits... oh boy...

Overall it is a boring "review" with one or two jokes that made me chuckle and that's it. It's a really confusing boring review and one of Nostalgia Critics weakest points. But there's Hocus Pocus which I hear is even worse...
