With Sammy with him in Ma'an, Barry feels he has no choice but to telephone Molly to tell her he's alive and that Sammy is with him. That telephone call has profound effects on what Molly decides to do in response. Sammy, who has decided to stay in Ma'an to fight against the Caliphate despite his mixed emotions toward his father, learns that war is not as glamorous as he may have assumed. Based partly on his "advice from God", Jamal becomes increasingly isolationist, taking control of communication with Khalil, whose telephone number Rami does not have. As Rami tries to take control back for what he feels is the good of the country and thus the Al-Fayeeds, Jamal has other thoughts which he shares with Khalil. What happens is a result of Jamal believing there is "poison" amongst his ranks. Ihab believes the Al-Yazbek brothers are moles within the Caliphate ranks, and takes action against who he believes was the cause of Samira's death. And Ahmed asks Nusrat to run away with him. What Nusrat decides to do may be affected by her earlier discussion with Leila and her attraction to Rami.
