The death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput is still under investigation, with new developments cropping up every day. Meanwhile, several filmmakers have announced projects based on the life and death of the late actor.
The situation reminds us of the fact that Bollywood is always quick to capture a slice of reality for its fiction screen.
Looking at the real life deaths and/or crime for screenplays is not a new trend, with films like "Talvar", "Black Friday", "No One Killed Jessica", and "Main Aur Charles" being but a few cases in point. For 12 years, Yoshinori Ono has been the face of the Street Fighter series, much like Ed Boon is to Mortal Kombat and Katuhiro Harada is to Tekken. After a trilogy of Street Fighter III titles came and went in the late-90s with little mainstream success (costly arcade hardware and lack of marketing for home ports didn’t help), the once giant of the fighting game genre coasted on its reputation and stopped releasing brand new installments beyond a crossover game or an updated home port. Ono helped change that as the producer and project manager of Street Fighter IV in 2008, bringing the series back to the forefront after nearly a decade.
Since then, he’s been an eccentric spokesman for the Street Fighter series. Sadly, his time at Capcom has come to an end. On Sunday, Ono confirmed on Twitter that he was leaving the publisher after almost three decades.

Raazi
Starring Alia Bhatt, Vickey Kaushal
Directed by Meghna Gulzar
Sometimes a flawed diamond can sparkle and shine brighter than a polished one. Raazi is that triumphant film which leaves you with some serious misgivings. The story, as we all know by now, is based on the real events during the eve of the 1971 Indo-Pak war when a valorous young Muslim Indian girl Sehmat decided to cross the border to become wife in a Pakistani family of armymen to gather information for the Indian government.
It is an audacious tale. And one waiting to be filmed. As a work of cinematic art Raazi scores very highly, almost rivaling the director Meghna Gulzar’s previous film Talvar in terms of the emotional ground the plot covers while uncovering the truth about the lies that we tell for the sake of “honour”
In Talvar it was the family honour at stake. In Raazi,...

One of the best actresses in Indian cinema, Tabu has given outstanding performances in films in the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Bengali and Hindi film industries. One of the qualities that makes her such a good actress is that you never feel as if she is acting. She completely commits to her role and the arc her character goes through and she takes us on that journey with her. The actress has garnered rave reviews, as well as 2 National Awards, been awarded the Padma Shri for her contribution to cinema and many other awards during her career so far and she is still going strong.
In celebration of her birthday today we thought we would shine the light on one of our favorite actresses.
Even more beautiful now
Though lovely in her first appearance onscreen in the Telugu film Coolie No 1 and in her debut film as leading lady in Vijaypath,...

It’s another win, It’s another masterpiece with Talvar for the Indian Cinema. The Actor-Filmmaker duo has done it again, and it’s a hat-trick!!
Talvar is the third time the duo worked together and created an impact amongst the audiences yet again after the incredible Maqbool and Haider.
Irrfan is a director’s actor. He gets into the skin of his character and brings to light subtle nuances to light onscreen. Vishal is a detailed writer and director. The two complement each other very well in the process of film making.
Talvar has earned a lot of appreciation from the audiences and continues to grow from the word of mouth.
Vishal loves the way Irrfan brings a character alive as he gets into the director’s shoe flawlessly and help create them an anecdote.

Irrfan has done it again. From Talvar to Jazbaa, it has been a seamless transition from him when it comes to balancing a real act v/s going stylish. Meanwhile, for newcomer Priya Banerjee, it was pretty much an experience that she gained up close and personal as she interacted with the actor for a few scenes in the film. Though it was expected that this would be an intimidating outing for the petite girl from Canada, considering the fact that this is her first Bollywood experience, Irrfan proved to be a good help for the youngster who has already made her debut down South as the leading lady.
“Irrfan is so humble,” gleams Priya, “When a scene was on and everyone was on the frame with so much happening, I was all worked up. I could hear myself saying that I better do a good job. Of course he...

Earlier we had reported that Essel Vision, the creative and production studio of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (Zee), announced a multi-film deal to make its foray into mainstream commercial Hindi films, with Sanjay Gupta's White Feather Films, of which the first was the recently released Aishwarya Rai Bachchan - Irrfan Khan starrer Jazbaa. However, now we hear that Essel Vision has apparently backed out of the deal. In fact we hear that the reason Essel Vision backed out was the poor Roi (Return On Investment) of Jazbaa at the box office, taking into consideration the cost of production as well as recoveries the film has had till date, due to it failing to entice the audience. Compounding the film's lack luster performance (as per their estimates), the previous week's release Talvar and the Hollywood release The Walk went a long way in damaging Jazbaa's overall box office appeal.
