Irritating episode.

Warning: Spoilers
I labeled this an irritating episode. This is why. You see in this episode that when Sheldon got sick he annoyed everyone and wanted everyone to wait on him. I find that extremely annoying. Then when everyone else decided to get a party bus Sheldon hid in the bathroom. I am basically a nice person. However, if I was one of the gang I would have kicked him off the bus asap. Let him stay home alone. I would however let Stuart join the group. A nice, decent guy.

An insult to comedy!

Warning: Spoilers
The montage of Sheldon insulting every one was the only highlight, the rest was C.R.A.P - I didn't laugh or smile after that scene.

After this episode my thoughts was solely on that Jim, Kaley and Johnny got paid 1 million dollars for this shitty episode. It's an insult to shows like Fargo, Game of thrones, Mr Robot, Daredevil etc. But what I don't comprehend is that this show still got 15 million US viewers, but I guess a majority still watch this show by habit at this point. Me personally only watching this by habit at this point, it stopped being golden with the 5th season.

I really hope that the tenth season will be the last one, because it's not entertaining or funny anymore.

For all Big Bang fans out there, I am not trying to hate on this show because its 'cool'

Warning: Spoilers
"The Big Bang Theory" has jumped the shark. In fact, it jumped the shark years ago and has jumped a few more since. What started out as a fun comedy series about the daily lives of a group of young nerds who surrounded themselves with a beautiful, yet ordinary neighbour has now turned into the most shallow and predictable of dramatic rom-coms. Nine seasons later, and the lack of character development is astounding.

This episode is somewhat better than the previous, but once again, is completely useless. The episode starts a bit better, with flashbacks to the irritable 'sick' Sheldon. Although none of this is really funny, it serves as a slightly better opening: something has already happened, the episode is more about the repercussions of that.

There was one legitimately important moment during the episode, though its execution is poor. Sheldon finally feels empathy towards Leonard. Why it took 9 seasons is beyond me, and the moment comes completely out of left field that it is hard to buy. Of course, this is sort of butchered when Sheldon makes a bunch of apologies to each member of the group. The writing and the performance make it feel inauthentic.

And then, Emily gets into a fight with Raj. Of course, we have loved their relationship SO MUCH (note: sarcasm) that all we needed was a fight! Emily is the most eccentric girlfriend anyone could ever have, with hints of insanity, that why Raj would keep her is beyond me. The character barely makes an appearance in this season, and to me, this is yet more shallow and disposable drama material.

What I did enjoy a bit was the way everyone hates Sheldon here. I can relate to that, because I despise the character at this point. And of course, the episode feels the need to give Sheldon a happy ending when the group allow him to tag along with them to Vegas. Why these writers feel that Sheldon deserves happy endings is beyond me! This is the most irritating character - once excellent character - and the writers are not even slightly courageous to 'hurt' Sheldon.

The final moment of this episode features Kunal Nayyar, as Raj, being a stripper. Oh god no! Oh, yuck! This is terrible, and shows just how low the show has become in recent seasons.

"The Empathy Optimization" is yet another bad episode of the show. With a few funny moments, which are laughing at Sheldon, this episode manages to rise just above the quality of the last episode.

They should really stop at the end of this season..
tfonias7429 January 2016
This series started out great, evolved and then died.. and still continues to burden it's fans (3-4 years after the sad passing..) with mindless filler episodes that border on actual crap.

Besides the Star Wars/SAMY episode which was actually great everything before and after is simply boring. Everyone seems to want to be someplace else.. For people taking so much money for each episode you should expect at least some effort to not show such boredom in their expressions and acting.

I feel the actors, producers and whoever is responsible for the continuation of this travesty should take a gun and put it out of it's misery.

RIP TBBT.

Sheldon is so irritating, its no longer funny
cmyth00714 July 2021
I truly love this show overall, and I have watched it constantly since I first started. But there are some episodes that are so bad that they make me turn to something else, and this is one of them.

While Sheldon certainly adds some funny moments to the show, he is truly the weakest link in the cast. I have never understood why he is always referred to as the "breakout character." No, he's actually the biggest reason NOT to watch. He is so clueless, so insensitive, selfish and self-centered that it actually isn't funny, and it makes you question why any of these idiots would allow him in their lives, put up with his constant BS, and pander to his childish whims. It truly does ruin the show at times, and by season 9, quite frankly, Sheldon is just exhausting to even watch anymore.

Watching this entire episode is simply painful on almost every level. I hate how we see so little development from Sheldon after NINE YEARS, and everyone just puts up with it, and enables his pathetic behavior. The only part I truly loved about this episode was hating on Sheldon, but as usual, the complete coward writers demand a happy ending for Sheldon, despite the fact that he doesn't deserve it at all. Sheldon is the single reason that this show tanked the last few years. Well, that and how utterly pathetic and sad Raj still is after all these years. Yeah, they should have stopped after season 8.

Sheldon Has Way Too Much Power
Hitchcoc10 November 2021
Sheldon has been ill and as people try to show acts of kindness, he treats them like dirt. The rest of the gang decide to go on a fun bus trip to Vegas and leave him behind. I don't need to say any more because the whole thing is predictable.
