I am someone who loves Chopper. I think he is a valuable part of the team and the most underrated member of the entire crew. With that said, I never thought that a solo episode focused on him would work, and having seen this one, I was completely right in that assumption. While it is cool to see Chopper take the stage, this episode felt like something out of a comicbook. A one-shot comic that shouldn't ever be made into media. This felt like such a weird thing to do after the amazing development that happened in the last episode, and while I did like that the episode actually ended up meaning something for the overall series, I still think they could have incorporated that into an episode that actually worked for the series. Chopper is a great character, but just like a lot of other side characters, he doesn't work when he is in the lead. I also don't like the ending of the episode, because it suggests something for the rest of the series that turns me off completely from the character of Chopper, and for the better of the series, I truly hope that they don't do it, as it would be dumb and ruin a lot of chemistry.
