- Johnny looks at the origins of advertising slogans. Jay Leno talks about his father's buying habits; Fred Savage (The Wonder Years (1988)); Brian Gillis does magic and card tricks with Johnny, Doc and the guests.
- To start the comedy segment, Johnny holds up an illustration of the 23-cent Mary Cassatt stamp and a picture of himself as Carnac, since they have a strong similarity. The main part of the comedy segment is the original users of well-known advertising slogans. Jay Leno does not do a stand-up routine, just jokes and stories during the interview. He and Johnny talk about competition between comedians. He says he bought his dad a new Cadillac, and then tells a story about helping purchase the family car as a teenager - getting it with a powerful engine and racing tires that his dad didn't expect. Then he tells another story about how his father made good on a 20-year warranty on a toilet seat. He also talks about working as a young comic at strip clubs, since there were no comedy clubs back then. He also recalls a mishap on the Dinah Shore show, when the band played him off just as he began his routine. Fred Savage, 12 years old, talks about starting acting when he was six, in a commercial for Pac-Man vitamins. He also talks about meeting Clint Eastwood at the Golden Globes, his upcoming 13th birthday, and his schoolwork while filming. Brian Gillis is a magician who does various close-up sleight of hand tricks for Johnny, Doc, and the guests seated around a table.—lenab9011
