Darkness Falls is originally a 90 minutes feature film project condensed to a 15 minutes short film. Writer/director, Jarno Lee Vinsencius, had a real challenge compressing the full feature length story to a 15 min. short.
The very last shot in the movie was supervised by sound operator Michael Tiedkte since the director, Jarno Lee Vinsencius had to return their rented vehicle in order to stay out of the hefty late fees.

The director/producer Jarno Lee Vinsencius rented a whole motel called Linderöds Motel for the production. When the final bill was due, Jarno struck a deal with the owner and paid half the bill by submitting his old BMW in order to cover the expenses for the accommodation of the cast and crew.
Darkness Falls has also won Best Sci-Fi Short at Outlantacon Film Festival 2016.
