In Cate Shortland's 2021 spy thriller "Black Widow," Ray Winstone plays a heartless Russian spymaster named Dreykov who oversees a shadowy training program called the Red Room. For years, Dreykov has been kidnapping young girls and forcing them to train as assassins and spies in a mysterious facility nicknamed Red Room. He is effectively turning girls into brainwashed super-agents -- Black Widows -- for the Soviet Union, then later, Russia. The titular Black Widow is Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) a good-hearted spy who broke her programming, defected, and turned to the side of good. The plot of Shortland's film involves Natasha and several other former Russian super-agents tracking down Dreykov and shuttering the Red Room.

This post contains spoilers for "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." Please proceed with caution.
Janet Van Dyne has lived quite a tumultuous life. After saving the world with the original Ant-Man, the Wasp was marooned in the Quantum Realm with no way to escape. Luckily, Scott Lang came along and helped her make it back to her family after decades of isolation in another universe.
But as we found out in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania," Van Dyne wasn't alone for long. At some point during her 30-year exile, Kang ended up on her doorstep looking for a way home as well. Being the trusting individual that she is, Michelle Pfeiffer's character helped him until she found out about the "The Conqueror" part of his name. When that finally happened, she met Bill Murray's Lord Krylar and other inhabitants of that world that looked to oppose the villain's rise to power.

Director Cate Shortland (“Berlin Syndrome”) brought a grittier violence to the MCU, which impacted the visual effects involving Natasha/Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and her adopted family. This included holding on shots longer, keying on the color red, and using visual motifs to make emotional connections. The best example tied the embers during the destruction of the Red Room to the fireflies at the beginning.
“The fireflies was a kind of surreal moment that we often don’t have in the big MCU films,” said Marvel VFX supervisor Geoffrey Baumann (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”). “I think [Cate’s] vision with that was trying to maintain an innocence that was part of Natasha’s character, but also merge that with the grittiness that you might find in a ‘Bourne’ or a Bond or a ‘Mission’ type of film. The collaborative process was a learning experience that went both ways.”

Mumbai, Nov 2 (Ians) Young actor Nikhil Bhambri had a chance to work with seniors like Mona Singh and Sharad Kelkar recently, and he says it was like attending a school with brilliant teachers.
Nikhil had the experience while shooting for the upcoming show, "Black Widows", which also stars actors such as Swastika Mukherjee, Shamita Shetty and Raima Sen.
"Working with such senior actors was a dream come true for me. Not only were they very friendly, they were also very supportive. I learnt a lot from them," said Nikhil.
"For me it was like attending a school with brilliant teachers, I used to just observe how they would portray a scene. Even if I had an early pack up, I would sit on the set and just observe them. I used to have long chats with my co-stars and I used to keep asking them about performances and how to keep improving.

"Everyone on the set was wearing a mask and oxygen, and temperature levels were checked daily before the start of shoot and also at the end. There was also an on-set doctor," he said.

The business of remaking drama series internationally continues to grow. While mega-budget new shows dominate the headlines, the likes of “In Treatment” are among the most-traveled scripted formats, and “Skam” and “Doctor Foster” are among the newer shows vying for top spot.
U.K.-based research house K7 Media has run the numbers and found that therapy drama “In Treatment,” is the best-selling international scripted remake of the past decade. The Dori Media-distributed show bowed in Israel in 2006. It went on to be remade by HBO in the U.S. with Gabriel Byrne, and by HBO Europe in several countries.
K7 has detailed the top unscripted formats for some time and its analysis is well-used by distribution execs selling formats, and buyers keen to discern trends.
“The scripted format business has grown,” K7 CEO Keri Lewis told Variety. “It’s the same as with unscripted, these are tried and tested formats.

Black Widow being the first movie of the McU’s Phase 4 makes for an interesting proposition. The world saw Natasha Romanoff sacrifice her life to allow Hawkeye to retrieve the Soul Stone in Avengers: Endgame and now that we know the character’s fate, why should audiences turn up to see her solo adventure? Well, those in attendance at Disney’s D23 expo found out why, as they were the first audience for the trailer’s premiere.
The preview itself hasn’t been released online, so the only thing we have to go on right now are their descriptions and the movie’s official poster. But at least they give us an idea of what’s in store for the character’s final big-screen outing (unless Marvel can squeeze in another adventure before her death).

During Marvel’s D23 presentation on Saturday, the studio shared some pretty radical new footage from Marvel’s upcoming Black Widow movie.
The first part of the footage that was shared was the same thing that was screened at Comic-Con earlier this summer. The second half was loaded with completely different footage that features Scarlett Johnson’s Natasha Romanoff hanging out with David Harbour's Red Guardian in his full costume and Florence Pugh's character, Yelena Belova.
Red Guardian tells them in a Russian accent, "Family, back together again," and that is followed by a few shots of the "family" in action as they are fighting off a bunch of people. There's a fun little moment between Yelena and Natasha where Yelena jokes about Natasha’s fighting pose saying, "the pose, the fighting pose" and then calls her "a total poser." It’s a fun bit of amusing banter.

Despite meeting her ultimate fate in this year’s box office titan Avengers: Endgame, it looks like Black Widow has a bright future ahead of her. The one-time Soviet spy-turned-Earth’s Mightiest Hero is set to receive her own standalone film next year, and according to writer Jac Schaeffer, the flick will be unlike any superhero movie that has come before.
Schaeffer, whose very first theatrical film coincidentally opened the same weekend as Iron Man 2 – in which Black Widow first appeared – isn’t interested in telling the same ol’ formulaic superhero story we see year after year. In a new interview with Inverse, the writer reveals that she’s interested in “more sympathetic villains, less glamorization of weaponry, and stronger representation of marginalized voices,” even if it runs the risk of ostracizing closed-minded fanboys.

Tonight's episode kicked off with footage of what took place in the house after the Pov (Power Of Veto) ceremony. Jessica told the private cams, "I hope I don't have to do much campaigning." Shortly after they were nominated for eviction by Head of Household Jack Matthews, both Kemi Fakunle and Jessica Milagros went off on the Aquaman-lookalike in the “Big Brother” Diary Room. “What a moron,” hissed Kemi. “I am livid right now,” griped Jessica. Unfortunately for both of them, Jack’s massive eight-person Gr8ful alliance is in control of the house and calling all of the shots, which makes these two Black Widows huge targets. Did Wednesday’s Veto episode save either Kemi or Jessica from the block? And if so, who did Jack nominate in their place?

After being adamant about using the Veto last week on “Big Brother 21,” Sam Smith, who won the second Veto on Saturday, did not use it during Monday’s Veto ceremony. So Kemi Fakunle and Jessica Milagros remain on the block, and one of them will be evicted to Camp Comeback on Thursday. Unsurprising. But Isabella Wang is making things interesting by being the dirty rat that she is.
The plan is still for Kemi to go, but Jessica is keeping it from being a done deal by not keeping her sh– together. She’s still flipping out about her name being attached to the Black Widows alliance and is denying that an all-girls alliance was her idea. She knows Bella’s the rat, but hasn’t been gaming at all to ensure her safety for the week and beyond besides denying that she came up with Black Widows. Girl is...
