- Chaos reigns in Abuddin and Daliyah asks Fauzi to leave and takes a stand against Barry. Elsewhere: Barry allows Maloof to take down Leila's opposition; and Ahmed pressures his mother to give up.
- Abuddin descends into chaos. Daliyah persuades Fauzi to leave so he can be a voice of dissent, and she takes a public stand against Barry. In an attempt to regain control, Barry gives Maloof authority to shut down Leilaâ€ôs opposition, and Ahmed joins to pressure his mother to surrender. Cogswell makes a forceful move that puts his career in jeopardy.
- Barry having declared war on the Caliphate in Syria and having postponed the election until the Caliphate have been defeated incites a possible civil war within Abuddin, many of who were his supporters openly critical of this decision as reneging on his previous call for democracy. The only people who support this move are Molly whose sole focus in this matter is to see Ihab dead, and the Abuddinian military led by General Maloof. Within the military, Ahmed also supports Barry in part to be closer to his biological father, but also as a measure against his mother, one critical of Barry, she who Ahmed knows will return the country to an autocracy if she is elected president. Barry's moves lead to the possibility of strange bedfellows who may believe that working together is more effective in showing Barry the error in his judgment, regardless of the members of such coalitions wanting different things as an end result. One of these potential coalitions is Leila and Al-Qadi talking to Lea Exley to convince her to withdraw US support for Barry's presidency. Cogswell may be caught in the middle of this matter in his professional duty to do what the US government wants and in his own personal want to support Leila. Barry, with Molly on his side, will imprison anyone who openly goes against him in these matters. One of those first people is Fauzi, who Barry has ordered to be imprisoned for treason, despite Fauzi being his oldest friend. Daliyah, who is also openly critical, believes that she is immune to Barry's call to imprison those he considers treasonous. One side issue in these proceedings happens within the Al-Qadi family. As Wafiq has been found guilty of treason and is sentenced to death, he secretly calls upon Nafisa to kill her husband as a sign of loyalty to him and all the sacrifices he made for her when they were growing up.—Huggo
