In the previous episode, Lucifer revealed his true form to Dr. Martin, leaving her in shock. In this episode, three additional locks are now in place on Dr. Martin's office door.
At a convention in 2019, Tom Ellis and Aimee Garcia revealed that Lauren German, who plays Chloe, masterminded the comically suggestive bit where Ella and Lucifer re-enact one of the murder scenes. Tom added that Aimee didn't realize he had placed his hand atop her head until she saw the episode.
Most of the names on the two lists that Lucifer compares are crew members:
- Andrew Pedley - digital imaging technician

- Antonia Allan - graphics artist, Warriors (2014).
Lucifer tells Charlotte that Hell was never home, that Heaven was Hell, and that the only place he felt was home was among humans. In John Milton's Paradise Lost, Lucifer was cast out of Heaven because he refused to bow down to humans as God demanded.
Lucifer mentions that "the angel of death" is a woman. In the Sandman comics by Neil Gaiman (the series from which this version of Lucifer is taken), Death is in fact portrayed as a young woman, (although not Lucifer's sister as he claims).
