The two guys at the end of the bar at the beginning of the altercation between the male and female disappear in subsequent shots.
As he is talking to Jessica after getting married, Paul has his gun on his left side in a left handed holster. In the following scene, it is on his left side in a cross draw holster and he pulls it with his right hand.
When Paul sits at the desk to talk to Jessica, his gun is missing from his holster. In other interior station scenes, he wore the gun.
Jessica appeared at the bar and drove Paul home in his police car. She had no vehicle to get there.
In the final scenes, Jessica's grip on the prop gun changes from one to two hands depending on the camera angle.
Police officers are not allowed to drink in bars while wearing their uniforms. This is due to the fact that if they must take police action (as took place here) they can do so using sound judgment. A plausible writing example would be for her to be in plain clothing and then identify herself as an officer if enforcement action were needed.
Police officers that are hired are given all of their equipment (gun, badge, uniform, gunbelt) at one time. The movie showing the "rookie" officer standing before the chief in full uniform and him giving her a gun and badge after deciding to hire her was inaccurate. A plausible writing example would be for her to appear in plain clothing and be told she was being hired.
Plain clothes officers do not conduct field training for new uniform officers. Along these lines the two are never shown in a police car or doing any field work together. A plausible writing example would be to have the male officer in uniform, but this would also require him to be clean shaven.
Only three fingerprints were shown on Jessalyne's arrest record. Criminal arrest records include all 10 fingerprints and a booking photo.
Civilians are not allowed to drive police vehicles.
The gun carried by Paul is a vintage Crosman "Marksman" BB gun, as evidenced by the close up of it where the logo is present when he was entering the home with his gun and flashlight out.
When Faith is entering data into the computer, you can see she is not actually touching the keyboard. This was likely practice for the scene where her fingers are shown moving from the keyboard point of view and no keyboard was present.
Cell phone numbers are not listed in phone books. They are for landline numbers sold by the phone company. As such, Jessica could not have gotten Paul's cell number from a phone book. A plausible writing example would be if he had given her his business card.
Stillwater is shown to be a small town. Jessica had been arrested for several felony crimes as Jessalyne. Felony crimes are investigated by detectives, so in a small department it is not possible that Paul would not have known about her prior record.
A miscarriage would result in the fetus being expelled. No fetus was mentioned, and a subsequent hospital checkup would have revealed Jessica was never pregnant.
Police officers arriving at a fellow officer's home where there have been gunshots would not wait outside.
In the initial scene in the bar, the "veteran" officer failed to follow police procedure for use of force. The male suspect was in a verbal altercation with the female. Simply stated, proper use of force is officer presence followed by verbal commands followed by physical contact. These rising levels are in response to what the suspect is doing. A plausible writing example would be since the subject was not engaged in a physical altercation, the officer should have warned him to back off and then he and the female officer could have interviewed both subjects. Instead, the officer used physical force immediately by hitting the subject then arresting him. This failure to follow procedure coupled with the lack of probable cause for an arrest would likely result in a successful lawsuit against the department, especially since the officer had been drinking.
By waiting until the bar was closing the following day, Jessica missed out on the opportunity to interview those that were present and witnessed the incident. A plausible writing example would involve the witnesses being interviewed immediately after the incident as well as security footage being copied.
