Overly confusing but okay for the most part.

Okay, so I'll start off with the good... The lighting in this movie is pretty good, hats off to the gaffer. The other plus in this movie was a great performance from the character Donnie (Ran Cummings).

The Bad... Overly confusing plot, the film is told through flashbacks and ends on this weird note with no clarification whatsoever, it was almost like the writers ran out of ideas and decided to just go with it, hoping the audience would buy the "open to interpretation" gimmick. While this can sometimes be an effective writing tool, it just comes off as lazy here.

While some of the performances are worth mentioning, the majority are not. Cailee Spaeny's literally role in this movie is to gasp and cry and... *YAWN*... I just don't buy it when we are supposed to feel bad for her character.

On that note, none of the characters in this movie are likeable, you either don't know enough about them, or you simply just don't care that bad things are happening to them. If you're going to make a dramatic short, make sure at least one of the characters is root-able.

The last flaw in this movie is the dialogue... the detective is supposed to be this intimidating woman but then she says lines like "people are supposed to feel safe in their home"... I couldn't take her seriously.

5/10 = Josh Pfaff certainly has some skill as a director, but his writing is his Achilles's heel.

Sometimes making a good movie is not Black and White.

Warning: Spoilers
This is one of those student films that tries to be deep by purposefully being as ambiguous as possible using the whole "grey area" schtick. Basically the whole film takes place in an interrogation of a home invader by a detective (who somehow turns out to be the villain). Part of me feels like I missed something, but like I said, this film really gets off on being as vague as possible. 2/10.
