Former Fox News Channel host Bill O’Reilly spent the weekend taking issue with a New York Times report that he’d come to a $32 million settlement in regard to sexually harassing another Fox News personality. One of O’Reilly’s talking points: that no one at the network had ever complained to human resources about his behavior.

Bill O’Reilly’s Post-Sexual Harassment Settlement Contract Included Clause About ‘Other Allegations’
Despite knowing Bill O’Reilly settled a sexual harassment lawsuit with a $32 million payment in January, Fox News parent company 21st Century Fox defended its decision to sign the longtime anchor to a lucrative new contract in February, saying in a statement on Saturday the deal had “protections for the company specifically aimed at harassment.” A bombshell New York Times report on Saturday detailed O’Reilly making the payment to Lis Wiehl, a 15-year Fox News analyst, after she’d said the cable star had harassed her and forced a “nonconsensual sexual relationship.” 21st Century Fox gave O’Reilly a fresh four-year contract — with.

Former Fox News anchor Bill O'Reilly paid $32 million earlier this year to settle sexual harassment claims from a coworker, the New York Times reported on Saturday. Lis Wiehl, a 15-year analyst on Fox News, accused O’Reilly of misconduct, saying the dishonored anchorman had repeatedly harassed her and forced a “nonconsensual sexual relationshipâ€. — something 21st Century Fox, parent company of the cable giant, confirmed to the Times. People familiar with the investigation also said O’Reilly had sent sexually explicit material, including gay pornography, to Wiehl. The settlement was made in January — months before his exit from the network.

It’s not often that you get to describe your afternoon's work as ‘top secret clown business’. On an angrily sunny bank holiday Monday I pulled my curtains shut, bundled the door closed and prepared to interview director Andy Muschietti about his new film, an adaptation of Stephen King’s horror tale It. It was spooky clown business of the creepiest order, and embargoed clown business to boot.
In spite of our phone connection, which ran between the UK and La, being tormented by an evil entity (the signal must have passed through Derry, Maine), it was great fun chatting with the director about watching horror movies, unpredictable clowns and scaring children. Here’s how we got on.
Congratulations on the film.

With John Simm having made his return to Doctor Who for the first time since 2010 in last week’s episode “World Enough and Time,” it seems like an opportune moment to remind ourselves of the long history of the Doctor’s nemesis the Master, doesn’t it?
The short video you’ll see above runs through the Master’s many regenerations at a rather quick pace. If you need some reminding, the uber-villain has gone through seven different incarnations over the decades. First, there was Roger Delgado (1971-73), followed by a horribly disfigured version (Peter Pratt, 1976; Geoffrey Beevers, 1981) and then there was Anthony Ainley (1981-89). The one-off Doctor Who: The Movie featured Eric Roberts as the Master in 1997 before the revived series cast Derek Jacobi in 2007. John Simm then took over, followed by Michelle Gomez in 2014.

Some fans have taken umbrage with the level of ‘spoilery’ announcements made about this season of Doctor Who. While others reacted with excitement when, say, it was revealed that the original Cybermen would be returning to the show, a lot of people would have preferred to find this out during the episode itself. The same goes for John Simm’s long-awaited comeback as the Master. As if to make up for spoiling his return, however, there was another layer to his re-appearance that was still able to shock some fans.
In last week’s outing, “World Enough and Time,” Bill befriends strange, quirky hospital orderly Mr. Razor, who seems to be the episode’s comic relief character. As things progress, though, he actually leads her into being – shock horror! – converted into a Cyberman and it turns out that he’s really John Simm’s Master in disguise.

This weekend’s Doctor Who is really something special, and the BBC is making sure you don’t miss it, under any circumstance.
Already, we’ve seen a whole host of promo videos to both remind us and get us excited for what’s to come tomorrow. We’ve had two separate trailers, two introductions (from writer Steven Moffat and stars Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie) and now, there’s one final swanky trailer, courtesy of the official Doctor Who YouTube channel.
As you can see above, the theme here is clearly that “time is running out” for the Doctor, with a motif of clock gears running through it (tying into the opening credits sequence). It doesn’t contain any new footage, but a few snippets of dialogue from the episode can be heard throughout.

Though they’re not seen in the clip, the Doctor is heard saying “Mondasian Cybermen” – referencing the fact that the original versions of the cyborgs will feature in the episode. Likewise, the video ends with Bill saying, “I said this was a bad idea.” Given that previous promos have hinted that she won’t make it out alive, this is a very ominous line indeed.
Visually, the video emphasizes the massive threat the Doctor’s about to face – namely, two separate incarnations of his old enemy the Master. Michelle Gomez’s Missy is ostensibly turning good at the moment, but that’s bound to change when she meets her previous self, John Simm’s bad to the bone Time Lord.
Simm’s return is a big deal, as he’s been absent from the show since 2010’s “The End of Time” (David Tennant’s final story as the Doctor). This will also be the first occasion that more than one version of the Master has appeared in the same episode. Suffice it to say, it’s going to be an absolutely explosive outing.
The penultimate instalment of Doctor Who season 10 is titled “World Enough and Time” and airs Saturday at 9Pm on BBC America.

Things are about to get very dramatic in the last two episodes of this season of Doctor Who. At least, that’s what these two new promos for this Saturday’s episode promise.
First, feast your eyes on the second trailer for the upcoming installment, titled “World Enough and Time,” above. Unlike the previous teaser, this one gives us a much better idea of the plot. Due to the black hole drawing it in, time is running faster on board a doomed spaceship – which could have terrible repercussions for the passengers. In particular, the trailer hints that the true origins of the Cybermen might be uncovered. Given that the episode will feature the original design of the Cybermen, last seen in the cyborgs’ first appearance in 1966, that’s definitely a possibility.
More alarmingly, though, the trailer also heavily suggests that the Doctor’s latest best pal, Bill Potts, will meet her end in either this episode or the next. “Promise you won’t get me killed,” she tells the Doctor, which is right next to “at least it’s not raining” when it comes to things you really shouldn’t say.

On a lighter note, the teaser ends on the amusing sight of John Simm’s Master dancing with Michelle Gomez’s Missy. This is the first time Simm has been in the show since 2010, and it seems he’ll get on like a house on fire with his future female self.
The second promo, meanwhile, which you can see down below, is an introduction to the episode by writer and outgoing showrunner Steven Moffat. He explains that it’ll deal with the Doctor attempting to reform Missy – but, for some reason, this will have terrible consequences that will “destroy a lot of lives.”
All in all, it looks like Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi’s final finale on Doctor Who will be as big and dramatic as fans would hope, and we can’t wait to see it for ourselves when “World Enough and Time” airs this Saturday at 9Pm on BBC America.

It’s the moment that fans have been waiting for ever since it was announced three months ago; John Simm’s Master is about to return to Doctor Who! In this week’s episode, titled “World Enough and Time,” the Doctor and his friends Bill and Nardole have a lot on their plate as they have to deal with two versions of the Master and some old-school Cybermen.
As you can see in the trailer above, the next outing for the show will be set on a space station that’s somehow defying the laws of gravity and flying away from a black hole. Following on from her apparent rehabilitation in the past few episodes, the Doctor will take Missy out on a test drive to see if she can actually do some good. The Rundown
“Doctor Who” gives us whiffs of “Outlander” with this jaunt back to 2nd century Aberdeen, Scotland, adjacent to cairns of standing stones that looks like it could transport a British lady back in time. Instead, the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and friends are here instead to figure out what happened to the Spanish Ninth Legion (Legio IX Hispana), which disappeared from records around 43 Ad. Naturally, an alien is to blame, but the Doctor sorts it all out in the end after whipping some whiny Roman soldiers and tribal Picts into shape. Although “The Eaters of the Light” was a wildly uneven episode, strong on messaging but weak on sense, it served to test its characters in revealing ways. Sadly, Auton replicant Rory (Arthur Darvill) did not make a cameo as the Last Centurion, although we suppose at this point he might be busy over at Stonehenge or guarding the Pandorica.

Camille Cosby is continuing to defend her husband of 50 years, Bill Cosby.
The 73-year-old released a statement on Saturday, just hours after a Pennsylvania judge granted a mistrial due to a twice-deadlocked jury in the case against her comedian husband — who was accused of drugging and sexually assaulting former Temple University employee Andrea Constand at his Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, mansion in January 2004.
Bill had pleaded not guilty to the three charges of aggravated indecent assault, insisting his sexual contact with Constand was consensual. He has denied similar allegations from more than 60 women.

After a Pennsylvania judge granted a mistrial after a jury announced they were deadlocked for the second time in the sexual assault trial of Bill Cosby, one of the actor and comedian’s multiple accusers is speaking out about what that means.
“It’s not an acquittal,” Tamara Green, a retired California attorney who first came forward with allegations against Cosby in 2005, tells People of Saturday’s mistrial.
She adds, “I have faith in the jury system of the United States.”

After surviving being taken over by the Monks, “Doctor Who’s” time-traveling duo are heading off planet to see about some aliens this time.
On Saturday’s all-new episode titled “Empress of Mars,” Bill (Pearl Mackie) and the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) have gone back to the Victorian era and have seen something puzzling: Someone has scrawled, “God Save the Queen” on the surface of Mars. The problem is that humans really haven’t achieved space travel, much less reached another planet this early in history. Or so we think.

Naturally, the Doctor and Bill hop in the Tardis to go investigate. Heading to Mars has its problems though because that’s where the Ice Warriors dwell. These reptilian humanoids wear full armor, which is partly cybernetic, and of course they put the “war” in warrior.

Unlikely as it might seem to long-time readers of this site, there might be some people who have only just started watching Doctor Who this year. After a year off air, Steven Moffat's brief going into this year's excellent tenth series seems to have been to give the show a soft reboot, picking up with Peter Capaldi's Doctor some time after the last series and ushering in the arrival of Pearl Mackie's new companion, Bill Potts.
To that end, the series started out with an enjoyable run of standalone episodes, boiling the show down to its essence of a madman in a box taking a young woman on adventures in time and space.

“Doctor Who” wades into political territory this week by painting the ruling Monks as fascist overlords who control the media, establish martial law and punish all opponents. It’s not much of a stretch to take this as commentary about the current state of the Western world on both sides of the Pond.
When the situation seems hopeless, a typically Whovian solution is found in a way that only makes sense on this show, but is consistent with goodness and purity of intent winning. In short, love saves the day… again.

No single story, no single film can capture the phenomenon that was The Beatles. But collectively, these examinations offer insight into the band’s impact on music and culture.
Such is the challenge when it comes to The Beatles’ landmark album “Sgt. Thinkpieces and tributes to the groundbreaking album have been in the news lately, trying to capture just how innovative and important it was to the music scene. Named No. 1 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time list, “Sgt. Pepper’s” topped the charts for 15 weeks in the U.S. and 27 in the U.K. In other words, it was and is still a big deal.

10.8 The Lie Of The Land
Lots going on here, in an episode of Doctor Who that does, as expected, ramp up the threat of the meddling Monks we’ve seen over the past two weeks. At the end of The Pyramid At The End Of The World last time, we saw Bill giving consent to the Monks to invade the Earth. It would be correct to assume we quickly see the consequences of that as The Lie Of The Land takes up the story, and we see what happens when that permission is given to take over. No spoilers here, of course, save for the fact that there are global consequences that reach far beyond the quarries of Wales.

Last week’s Doctor Who set up a new big bad for season 10, but left The Doctor knowing that they would be coming to Earth soon. In this week’s episode, the sudden appearance of a pyramid made it clear that they had arrived, and were ready to put their plans into action.
When a 5,000-year-old pyramid suddenly appears on earth, The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) is called on to deal with it. When the occupiers of the pyramid turn out to the be monks from who have simulated how to take over Earth, can the The Doctor stop them?
I’ll admit I was worried about this episode, as I didn’t see how it could follow on from last week’s impressive set-up. Thankfully, what we have with The Pyramid at the End of the World is a Doctor Who episode that is anything but formulaic and dull.

Last week’s excellent episode played mind games with us and “Doctor Who’s” characters when it was revealed that everyone’s journey that we were following (in that episode anyway) was fake, just part of an elaborate simulation of Earth by alien beings. While we know that they were all part of a program, it was nevertheless heartbreaking to see these “people,” who definitely seemed to have gained sentience, realize their lives were a lie. We also learned that the Doctor (Peter Capaldi) was supposed to execute Missy (Michelle Gomez), but instead agreed to watch over her for 1,000 years, presumably in the vault. We say “presumably” because, well, when Steven Moffat is writing, sneaky surprises might be in store.

It left us hoping that Chris Chibnall has already signed up writer Jamie Mathieson – returning to Doctor Who writing following the likes of Flatline and Mummy On The Orient Express - for series 11. It would be fair to say that Oxygen was something of a triumph.
And I’m going to start at the end.
Notwithstanding the next time trailer, that I won’t go through as I appreciate many chose to avoid it (and it certainly has things in it that spoiler-phobes would want...

President and first lady Frank and Claire Underwood are more power hungry than ever.
In the season five trailer for Netflix's House of Cards, the commander in chief (Kevin Spacey) gives some chilling proclamations. "The American people don't know what's best for them. I do," he tells his wife (Robin Wright) over dramatic scenes from the upcoming season. "They are like little children, Claire. We have to hold their sticky fingers and wipe their filthy mouths. Teach them right from wrong. Tell them what to think, and how to feel and what to want."
Exclusive: House of Cards Star Michael Kelly on Tough Season 5 Without Creator Beau Willimon
"They even need help writing their wildest dreams," Frank continues, "Crafting their worst fears."
The fictional president then begins to claim that he and Claire are working to stay in the White House for years and decades to come, spouting off, "2016, 2020, 2024, 2028, 2032, 2036 ...One nation, Underwood."

Three episodes into this year’s season of Doctor Who, and we are in Victorian England. With more of a hint of Dickens about some of the tropes used in the episode, will Thin Ice be a damp squib of an episode, or a behemoth of excellence?
Instead of returning The Doctor (Peter Capaldi) and Bill (Pearl Mackie) to the University, the Tardis arrives in London 1814. With the Thames frozen over, the people are celebrating the Frost Fair on top of the Thames itself but with something lurking under the water will The Doctor be fish food?
While the current run of Doctor Who may be on fine form, Thin Ice feels like a bit of a dip in quality for the show. While it isn’t a failure, and still holds interest, it feels a little lacklustre compared to the previous episodes of season 10. What it does provide though...

No president, no problem.
Hasan Minhaj took the stage Saturday night at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner and delivered a model set for the annual event, even though the event itself was anything but ordinary. The “Daily Show” special correspondent delivered an eviscerating 25-minute speech, going after the usual targets, from the reporters in the room to the president and his staff, despite Donald Trump’s absence.
“I would say it’s an honor to be here, but that is an alternative fact,” Minhaj said. “No one one wanted to do this, so, of course, it landed in the hands of an immigrant — like it always does.”

What are the Doctor and Nardole guarding in the vault? That’s the question fans have been asking since Doctor Who returned to our screens on Easter Saturday. In the opening episode ‘The Pilot’ we learn that the Doctor and Nardole have been regularly guarding something in a vault within the grounds of the university campus where the Doctor has been working. During last week’s episode ‘Smile’, Bill asks the Doctor if he is concerned about being away from 21st century England with no one guarding it. The Doctor pretty much dismisses it and says he can go back to it at the...read more...
