...and the best motif is its profound French film status. No surprises, not revelations. A story so familiar than you know each detail from the first minute. The humor - familiar too. A miller, a village, a superficial sketch of love story, the conflict between villagers and strangers, something from Guy de Maupassant short stories and almost nothing more. It is obvious, it do not represents a great film. Only a nice one, for a precise target, maybe, seductive for high predictibility and for the performances. So, a miller and a village, in sauce of absurde.

Original is much better

Didnt like this french version. Its childish and naive. Cant compared to original, finnish 'Ulvova mylläri'!

Best movie ever

The movie is a masterpiece. It was an amazing movie that I would love to watch again. I really enjoyed it and I felt moved after watching it. I fell in love with the main character. I really understood him and understood what he stood for. I believe that it is an amazing film that should be watched in every Canadian, French or francophone speaking country. I also now love the director, main character and everyone else. It is an amazing movie. This is an amazing film that would be perfect for a family movie night. PLEASE WATCH THIS MOVIE IF YOU HAVE THE TIME. 10/10 should watch.

Cornelius the howling millar

This movie brought me to tears with the amazing characters and setting you truly feel you are a part of the story and are really there with Cornelius and the gang this movie is truly a work of art. Cornelius is truly an amazing and well thought character and you truly feel for him as he just wants to howl at the moon but the villagers don't like him for it his wolf family showed why is howls at the moon and makes you feel sympathy for him and you hope he is one day excepted by everyone he is the best example of a person to be and you should strive to be like him keep in mind that I have not watch the film and all of this is purely for fun.

From the first scènes of this cute little feature, I thought about Pierre Richard, back to the seventies, when he played naive and offbeat characters. But that's not entirely a comedy, everything is not funny. Some sequences may be even painful to watch, such as these one when the poor man is howling; we don't know why...A sad tale actually, about loneliness and intolerance, nature and happiness. I am not surprised that only a handful of people went to see this film, not destined to wide silly sheep herd audiences., worth going to a slaughterhouse. I love this film, only for this Reason, because it was mostly ostracized.
