Earth's Mightiest Heroes will finally take on the big baddie Thanos next year. Here's everything you need to know...
This article contains spoilers for Thor: Ragnarok, and various McU movies before it.
Arriving in April next year, Avengers: Infinity War is set to be the culmination of everything we’ve seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely have written the script, with Joe Russo and Anthony Russo handling the direction. Those four chaps first collaborated on the grounded-by-Marvel-standards espionage flick Captain America: The Winter Soldier, before expanding their operation significantly for its superhero slugfest sequel Captain America: Civil War.
With Infinity War, they are working with an even bigger stable of heroes. The film’s official poster shows – deep breath! - Robert Downey Jnr’s Iron Man, Chris Evans’ Captain America, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, Chris Hemsworth’s Thor,...

MaryAnn’s quick take… Breezy, jokey, crammed with clever sci-fi ideas; the funniest McU flick yet. Director Taika Waititi brings a new geeky verve we didn’t realize the series needed. I’m “biast” (pro): love the cast, love the McU
I’m “biast” (con): nothing
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
Thor can go to hell.
No, I mean, literally: Thor is capable of going to hell, just for a visit, which is where he is at the opening of Ragnarok. Okay, okay, I know, I know, it’s not really hell, not Hell. I know it’s Muspelheim, the extradimensional realm of fire, please don’t write in to complain. But it’s pretty hellish, and Thor is there to confront the fire demon Surtur, who is fairly satanic: extremely large and scary, aflame, and determined to slay the gods of Asgard and...

Movie News: Jeff Goldblum Teases Future Marvel Short; Adam Driver Joins Spike Lee's 'Black Klansman'
Marvel Short: Jeff Goldblum, who makes an appearance in the forthcoming Thor: Ragnarok as the Marvel character The Grandmaster (above), may soon be seen playing the character again for director Taika Waititi. Goldblum says: "I shot a thing with Taika [Waititi], where there’s a roommate in Australia … I take up residence in the little flat, as they say here. That’s what I do. And order things from the takeaway restaurant." What Goldblum describes sounds like it may be a followup to a previous Marvel short, Team Thor. [Radio Times via THR] Black Klansman: Adam Driver (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, above) and Laura Harrier (Spider-Man: Homecoming) will star in Spike Lee's Black Klansman. They join John David Washington, who will portray...

Remember the two Team Thor comedy short films that were released by Marvel that showed us what Thor was up to during the events of Captain America: Civil War? As they showed, Thor was living in Australia with a roommate named Darryl and it hilariously showed what life was like for them. You can watch Part 1 here and Part 2 here.
Well, we've got a third part coming and Jeff Goldblum will appear in it as The Grandmaster! When talking about what might happen next for The Grandmaster in an interview with Radio Times, this is what Goldblum said:
"So what happens? Well, I could go anywhere – I might knock on your door, and say hello. Guess who’s here? I shot a thing with Taika, where there’s a roommate in Australia. I show up at his, and I do knock on his door. And I take up residence in the little flat,...

Those Team Thor short films directed by Taika Waititi, starring Thor and his flatmate Darryl during the events of Civil War, were hilarious! And judging by how goofy the McU can be sometimes (Howard the Duck, anyone), it might even be canon. I kind of hope so, as I'm always a fan of that mixture of the supernatural and mundane. Well it looks like we're getting more Darryl, as Jeff Goldblum revealed to... Read More...

Months before the Thor: Ragnarok trailers surprised everyone with their irreverent tone and wacky dialogue, director Taika Waititi was workshopping the more lighthearted take on Thor in a medium he knew best: mockumentaries. The director drew from his experience making the brilliant supernatural mockumentary What We Do in the Shadows, taking a hammer (heh) to the dour tone that Thor […]

Thor: Ragnarok is already looking to be one of Marvel Studios’ best-reviewed films in a long time, possibly the best yet. From its colorful action to its beefed-up humor, Ragnarok will surely end up being one of this year's most entertaining movies.
Most of the credit goes to Ragnarok's director, Taika Waititi who not only helmed the massive sequel, he also plays one of the film’s most memorable characters, Korg – a giant fear-inducing rock creature at least until you hear his soft-spoken New Zealand accent. Throughout the film, Korg is often with his insectoid alien friend, Miek. And once you see them together in action, you will want more of them in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And according to Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, we might just be getting that. During a recent interview with Fandango Feige said:

Spoilers for Thor: The Dark World lie ahead
Dressed as snappily as ever, Taika Waititi was leaning playfully up against a wall as I entered a swanky London hotel room to chat with him. The writer-director of Boy, Eagle Vs Shark, What We Do In The Shadows and Hunt For The Wilderpeople then led me over to a little table, where he was halfway through drinking some sort of caffeine-based beverage from a martini glass. Pure class.
What followed was a snappy chinwag about Waititi’s new directorial project, Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, which teams Chris Hemsworth’s godly goldilocks with Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, to take on such villains as Tom Hiddleston’s Loki, Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster and Cate Blanchett’s Hela.

Everything we’ve seen so far of the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok has looked amazing – from the witty and exciting trailers to the expertly designed one-sheets. Hell, even Hulk’s bed looks cool as hell. Now, you can add another heap of awesome to the pile with this new international trailer for the film.
Though comprised primarily of footage we’ve seen in other promos, it’s still a fun, bite-sized look at the upcoming threequel, one that ushers Team Thor into the spotlight. And not a moment too soon. As you’ll no doubt remember, Chris Hemsworth’s Asgardian was left on the sidelines during Captain America: Civil War – ditto for Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) – during which time Marvel’s marketing campaign was divided between Team Cap and Team Iron Man.

If you’ve yet to have your fill of Thor: Ragnarok content, we’ve got some good news: Marvel has premiered yet another spectacular promo that ushers Team Thor into the spotlight.
Granted, there’s a good reason for Thor’s absence, as writer-director Taika Waititi has since explained that the God of Thunder has been busy searching for wayward Infinity Stones in his pursuit of Thanos, the Mad Titan. That arc will naturally dovetail with Avengers: Infinity War come 2018, but before Thor regroups with Earth’s Mightiest Heroes – not to mention the Guardians of the Galaxy – a trip to Sakaar is on the cards.

It’s still a few months away, but we can hardly wait for Thor: Ragnarok, after seeing the poster and hilarious Team Thor shorts and trailers that inspire a new appreciation for Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song.” One of the best moments in those trailers arrives when Thor is ready to do battle against an unknown foe in front of Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. The Thunder God is apprehensive, but soon breaks into a huge smile when he sees that his opponent is his old buddy Hulk: “Yes! We know each other! He’s a friend from work!,” Thor says.

While Thor: The Dark World may not have been the best example of a strong Marvel Studios film, Chris Hemsworth hasn’t become any less charming as Thor himself. In fact, in the year or so coming off of Captain America: Civil War, it seems like the character of Thor has taken on a new life of his own. If you’ve managed to see the two “Team Thor” shorts released by Marvel, as well as the more recent Thor: Ragnarok trailer, you’ll notice that he seems a lot bro-ier than he was in the past.
This is by no means a bad thing. Sure, it may betray his character’s origins a bit, but from a more objective standpoint, it makes for a much more entertaining watch, and when it comes down to it, I’m always up for an entertaining watch. Plus, Hemsworth has proven himself a worthy comedy performer,...

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has been very careful and deliberate as it introduces mass audiences to over 75 years of comic book continuity and conventions. Wisely, we had a handful of super-heroes before we had a team and after some hints about outer space, we had a specific look with Guardians of the Galaxy. Sooner or later, once “Stephen Strange” was name-checked in Captain America: Winter Solider, we knew a peek at the supernatural side was coming.
When Doctor Strange finally arrived last November, it was an amazing visual triumph that nicely walked us through some of how magic worked while offering up an origin story that showed a man’s hubris turned into something better. While the broad strokes make Strange and Tony Stark nearly identical, their journeys are vastly different with the former far slower to accept the consequences of his actions.

Thor: Ragnarok was always going to be highly anticipated, by virtue of it being both a Marvel movie, and an important stepping stone toward Avengers: Infinity War. However, for those that have been paying attention, this particular franchise entry is especially exciting, because it boasts a big-budget collaboration between Chris Hemsworth and Taika Waititi. These two artists have a very specific, very funny sense of humour, which has led to predictions of a unique vein of comedy being introduced into the Thor film series. This has now been confirmed by Tom Hiddleston – also known as Loki – while in conversation with Fandango, promoting his upcoming film, Kong: Skull Island.
“At the end of The Dark World, Loki is on the throne. At the beginning of Ragnarok, Thor has a few questions, Loki is endearingly enigmatic about providing answers. Taika Waititi is such a spirited, hilarious individual, and he and Chris [Hemsworth] became very fast friends.

Sundance may be over, but Garrett Bradley’s short film “Alone” still feels as relevant as ever. The film was awarded the Short Form Jury Award in nonfiction after being one of 68 shorts accepted into the festival earlier this year. By telling the story of Aloné Watts, whose boyfriend Desmond has been incarcerated in a private prison for a year, Bradley examines the question of what it would mean to marry someone behind bars.
As well as delving into the injustices of the prison system and examining a type of modern relationship that is rarely, if ever, represented on film, “Alone” accomplishes a lot in its 13-minute running time by taking a deeply personal dive into Watts’ life as a black single mother. With closely framed shots and intimate voiceover, Bradley makes it nearly impossible not to feel what Watts feels in scenes such as the one where she is...

"I can't, uh, pay rent with these things..." Marvel Studios has unveiled a teaser trailer for Part 2 of "Team Thor", the video dairies of roommates Thor & Darryl. The very first fan-favorite Thor & Darryl video premiered at Comic-Con last year in Hall H, and received some of the most buzz I've ever heard coming out of the convention. It eventually ended up online a few months later, and it's hilarious. The video diaries are made in the style of "The Office", involving Thor and his friend Darryl, who has a tough job of dealing with the "God of Thunder" as his roomie. I like the footage in this new teaser, it seems like Marvel is happily continuing this series and there may be even more footage beyond just Part 1 & 2. Only time will tell. Enjoy. Basically, our favourite Asgardian relocated to Australia and moved in with normal human Darryl. Now Team Thor is back, found on the Blu-Ray release of Doctor Strange, and things haven’t gotten easier for Darryl as it is proving more and more difficult to share a house with the God of Thunder. We all know Chris Hemsworth had some comedy chops, but he knocks it out of the park here as an aloof, egotistical version of Thor. Check it out for your self below.

This is the sequel no one could accuse of suffering from sequelitis.
Team Thor: Pt. 2, Where Are They Now? further explores the adventures of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) during the events of Captain America: Civil War, with the mockumetary showing the God of Thunder living in Australia with a roommate named Darryl (Daley Pearson).
Thor is having trouble paying rent (sorry, coins from Asgard don't cut it), and he rebuffs Darryl's suggestion to get a job. Afterall, he already has one — and it's called saving the planet.
Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi shared the first installment of the mockumentary at San Diego Comic-Con in July. The latest...

Thor: You want him around when the world is in danger, but not when you’re trying to pay rent. In the first Team Thor short from Taika Waititi, Thor plagued his roommate Darryl by visiting him at work and leaving Mjolnir around the house. The sequel, however, reveals that the Asgardian also doesn’t really get how money works on Earth. In the short, Darryl needs cash for rent, and Thor provides him with a pumpkin and coins that he says are worth a “gazillion” dollars.
The superhero is also resistant to getting a job, and has taken to wearing some aggressively patterned board shorts—and no shirt. Though Marvel posted this clip today, the entirety of the mockumentary is available if you purchase Doctor Strange on Digital HD.

The saddest man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn’t Loki with his daddy issues or Bruce Banner with his self-loathing or even Bucky Barnes with his unreliable brain and unfortunately highly effective assassin training. No, if you ask me, it’s Darryl, the poor ordinary schmoe who somehow got stuck rooming with Thor while the rest […]

The last time we checked in with Thor, the hammer-wielding hero helpfully answered the question on everyone’s mind: While we know the rest of his Avengers team was battling it out in “Captain America: Civil War,” what was the Asgardian God of thunder up to? In a short released last summer called “While You Were Fighting: A Thor Mockumentary,” directed by Taika Waititi, who is also at the helm of the upcoming “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor invited the world into his new home in Australia where he lives with his long-suffering roommate Darryl. He dubbed them Team Thor, and thus a new iconic Marvel duo was born.
Now, a follow-up to the short has been released, along with the promise of more of Thor’s Earthly adventures on the Blu-ray edition of McU entry “Doctor Strange,” which hits shelves on February 28.

In a continuation of a previous joke series where Marvel tackled what Thor was up to during Captain America: Civil War, we have a new clip from Team Thor. It seems Thor's roommate Darryl is wanting Thor to provide more that Earth's protection for rent and Asgardian money does not have a good conversion rate. Watch the hilarious exchange below, and if you missed the first part, check it out here! ...

This weekend, Marvel sent fanboys into a frenzy when they released an exciting new featurette for Avengers: Infinity War. Though it didn’t show off any footage, we got some quick interviews with the cast and crew and even a bit of concept art (which you can check out below), all teasing what’s to come. And according to the Russos, what’s to come will be unlike anything we’ve ever seen on film before. Bold words, to be sure, but something tells us they hold some truth.
