Anne (Toni Collette) argues with Maria (Rossy de Palma) that many Spanish people became succcesful and mentions, among others, Pedro Almodóvar and Antonio Banderas. Rossy de Palma worked with Almodovar in at least 6 movies, including "Mujeres al borde de un ataque de Nervios" and "Ata-me" (in which Banderas is in too).
During the final scene when Maria is walking towards her destiny, bagpipes can be heard in the most emotional part of Mathieu Gonet's masterful musical score; this is because actress Rossy de Palma was born in Asturias, Spain where bagpipes are a characteristic musical instrument.
The opening and closing credits are in French.
