TikTok wants you to meet its Change Makers. That’s the name of a new program that offers support to creators who are “inspiring meaningful change” through their videos and actions.
The inaugural class of Change Makers was revealed through a TikTok Newsroom post. Though TikTok didn’t provide many details about the selection criteria it used for the program, its post indicates that the members of the cohort all “create a positive impact on and beyond the platform.” They do that in many different ways, from the warmth radiated by Brunch With Babs host Barbara Costello, to the spectacles shared by photographer-to-the-stars Kara Lewis, to the helpful information offered by “medical mythbuster” Joel Bervell.
“The TikTok global community harnesses creative self-expression to drive positive impact by rallying support, raising awareness, and advocating for the causes they truly care about,” said Kim Farrell, TikTok’s Head of Creators, in a statement.

Comicbook writer Garth Ennis, best known for series such as “Preacher” and “The Boys,” and his nine-year stint at Marvel, is a guest of this week’s Lucca Comics & Games. Ennis, whose current work includes comedy Barbarian strip “Babs,” and the latest instalments of the “Battle Action” and “Punisher” series, spoke about his new book “Partisan,” as well as diverse topics including religion and war.
“[In ‘Partisan’], Steve [Epting] and I explored a similar territory to that of ‘Sara.’ It’s about a woman who finds herself caught in the fighting between Russian partisans and the German invaders in Ukraine from 1942 onwards,” Ennis said.
“Our heroine, with her husband having been called up by the army, finds herself raising two kids alone. Caught in this conflict, she joins the partisans for no other reason than keeping her kids alive. She finds herself doing the most extreme things, purely in the interest of her family.

Many people (this reviewer included) scoffed at the announcement of Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget. Something about the ludicrous title and 23-year hiatus gave the air of a studio in desperation, or one searching for an Oscar contender. How wrong we were. For in spite of the long wait and changes of personnel––Zachary Levi and Thandiwe Newton replace Mel Gibson and Julia Sawalha; Sam Fell replaces Nick Park and Peter Lord––this latest adventure is every bit as well-crafted, cleverly written, and stuffed with gallinaceous puns as its predecessor.
We rejoin the flock, like the cast, in much-changed circumstances. For one thing, they have built a small island paradise––it looks more like the Shire than Yorkshire––where they are free to work and roam without the threat of human intervention. There is also a lively new addition to the group: Rocky and Ginger’s chirpy chick Molly,...

Conrad, with illustrations by Neil Googe and covers by Jorge Corona, Boo Sweeney and Rian Gonzales:

The Animaniacs and Looney Tunes were given a chance to come back, so it feels right that Tiny Toons would be given a chance as well, but it’s going to be enough to wonder just how they’ll be coming back and if they’ll be able to pull off the same pranks as they did in the past. The Tiny Toons were more or less younger representations of the original Looney Tunes since Babs and Buster Bunny (no relation) were two of the top toons in the school where they were taught by the original toons such as Bugs, Daffy, Elmer,

DC’s Birds of Prey movie is currently filming ahead of its release next year, but before that, The CW’s Arrowverse will offer its own take on the team of superheroines later this season on Arrow. Though the group’s name will likely be off-limits, it’ll still feature (a version of) one of the most perennial members of the squad, Laurel Lance.
Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz broke the news to TV Line this week, explaining: “We are doing a Birds of Prey-inspired episode, that Laurel (played by Katie Cassidy) will be involved with.”
As fans will know, the other two major members of the Birds are Huntress and Barbara Gordon’s Oracle. The former was once a recurring character on Arrow, as played by Jessica De Gouw, but hasn’t been seen since season 2. Funnily enough, she appeared in an episode titled “Birds of Prey.” We’ve...

"...you can't go home again. But that's just where 'Barbara Gordon', aka 'Batgirl', is forced to go when the chip granting her mobility keeps shorting out in the aftermath of her clash with 'Grotesque'.
"Will 'Commissioner Gordon' drive 'Babs' totally bonkers with his bedside manner? Or will the malfunctioning tech impact more than just her legs?
"Plus, what's the deal with art thief Grotesque and his new M.O.?..."

When news broke last month revealing the lineup for the Birds of Prey movie, many a fan breathed a sigh of relief upon learning that Huntress, Black Canary and Rene Montoya will be featured alongside Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn. But what baffled the same folks was the realization that Barbara Gordon will sit this one out, so don’t count on seeing her as either Batgirl or Oracle.
In fact, what I found to be quite intriguing was the decision to include Cassandra Cain in the project, as it’s being said the team will have to recover her from the hands of an evil mob boss, whom we now know to be Black Mask. And though Cass may be one of the greatest living martial artists in the comic book realm, we can’t be too sure of where her skill level’s at in the film.
Speaking of which,...

So heartbreaking. On the night of the season finale of her hit TLC series My Big Fat Fabulous Life, star Whitney Thore took to Instagram after the episode aired to announce the sad news that her best friend Tal Fish's father suddenly passed away. Tal's father Rufus Fish passed away on Tuesday, March 20 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease and both Tal and Whitney shared touching tributes to his memory on social media. "I am so grateful for the love that Tal and his family have always shown me, and grateful that his parents raised him to be such a wonderful person who enriches the lives of so many," Whitney wrote on Instagram. "The whole family was able to see him in the last week, and Tal visited him shortly before it happened, so that is an enormous gift. I hadn’t seen Mr. Fish in years but I...
