I've always liked the episode format of The Simpsons in which it starts with a fact almost totally unrelated to the course of the story, almost, since something is usually left (however small) that connects every episode, it brings me credibility and naturalness. In this case it was the attention that Bart gave the presentation of his sister when rejecting a dare, always love to see breaks of the stereotypes of the characters, and at that moment it was used in the correct way. It struck me as an episode of The Good Place, the joke with the ideas of the beyond and divinities was right, even the ethical ideas so common in the series show up here. The Simpsons has been stoned to the times when it comes to playing controversial subjects.
Highlight for the critical of the Christian movies that gave name to the episode.
Highlight for the critical of the Hollywood scene.
With the 30 years of the series i remembered once more that in the majority of the episodes the characters do not grow old, probably its producers have felt this strongly in that premiere of the s30 and put scenes of the future.
This evolution of Bart repeats itself, at the conclusion of the episode in his dialogue with Lisa (another connection to the beginning of the episode).
conspiracy theory: the whole episode was created by homer and strongly influenced by ned.
Its not one of the greatests, but do what Simpsons are good at, good comedy and criticism.
And the quality of it all!
