It really is astonishing that the occurrence of Commonwealth citizens among the villains of US police dramas is so high: Scottish, Welsh, English, Irish, South African, Australian, New Zealand and a few other places. (Not so many from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh or Sri Lanka!?) Does that really match the criminality in the communities of the programmes? And then the producers force so many good actors into completely unexplored accents born in the minds of the American vocal team. Alastair Duncan, for instance, is an amazingly flexible accent talent, but he has been woefully misused by his American producers.
