This episode really caught me off guard. Ruthie telling that the story has a happy ending kept me hooked on, but eventually the ending revealed that it was just Carolyn trying to make herself feel better. Really depressing episode, yet amazing.

This series is amazing. This episode is all about princess Caroline. I thought I knew how it was going to end. But I was wrong. And now I've been crying about it and writing this review. What a show! And we've still got episode 11 to look forward to!
Woah. It just got serious!

Well well well. This is the first time I'm writing a review. And I've seen all the great shows of this era. GoT, Breaking Bad and others.
The reason I'm writing is because how shaken I was at the end! I'm so invested in Princess Carolyn's character. I feel her pain and happiness. I had goosebumps at the end.
Please be better next episode!

What a creative and ultimately shocking emotional experience that really gave one of the BEST moments with Princess Carolyn!
This episode gave me an insight into her character i had never gotten until now! Her life just kept goi g and going and she was always good at seeming happy and satisfied! This episode however shows.. that you never quite know what is going on inside someones head, until you do!
The final scene was incredible and captured her character in such a sad way! All you do is feel sorry for her! Ruthie will always be remembered! Once you learn the truth about her, the episode can never be viewed the same!
This episode deserves its place amongst the best of the show!

With my apologies to BoJack Horseman

I remember watching this episode very well, because it made me doubt BoJack Horseman (the series, not the character.) This episode has a framing device showing an ancestor of a lead character (Princess Carolyn) tell people about the events of the episode. It's such an old and clichéd well to tell a story that I really wondered: have the makers of of BoJack Horseman lost it? Should they call it quits? And the feeling only got worse the more the show went on. As usual when this framing device is used, you start to wonder things, like why are they mentioning certain events... or how are they mentioning certain events?
Except I was wrong. Completely and utterly wrong.
You see, BoJack Horseman is one of the few shows capable of taking such an old idea and turning it into something amazing. The end of the episode twists it into a sucker punch that's one of the most emotional moments of the whole series.
So, I'm sorry, makers of BoJack Horseman, for ever doubting. I leave my confession here for... well, hardly anybody to see, but to help assuage my guilt.

As a career sexist, this episode is the closest any piece of media has come to making me cry. It is absolutely heartbreaking from begining to end. Princess caroline is the quintocential example of an actually well written And likeable girlboss character, and this episode exemplifies why she works so well; in order for her triumphs to feel earned she has to go through hardships, and no ship could be harder than this episode. The ending scene is one of my favorite moments in media and is executed perfectly. Also did you know that princess caroline's voice actor is buddy's dad's secretary in elf?
