When investigating random disappearances reported at a condo site, Wynonna finds herself reunited with Mercedes Gardner (who according to Wynonna is the second most hated chick in Purgatory). It seems Mercedes is back in town buying up real estate and to save the family fortune due to her younger siblings reckless spending.
After finding a giant egg on the condo site, Wy brings it back to the office and The Earp sisters find themselves going up against some giant spiders and spider goo. In addition to the spiders, Wy finds herself struggling with the new team dynamic (especially with Lucado in charge) and being haunted by some ghostly black figures.
Waverly opens up to Nicole about her doubts of being an Earp. Nicole offers her support by giving Waverly forms for birth certificates, medical records, school documents, etc. to prove if she is an Earp (or not). The tension between WayHaught comes to a resolution as their relationship heats up and they take things to the next level.
After meeting with Nedley, Doc agrees to become Shorty's new owner. He has an agenda of his own and is eager to recruit Rosita. At first glance, it seems like Doc just needed a bartender but it looks like Rosita is needed to reverse engineer something.
Two episodes in and new characters continue to be introduced. Jeremy continues to awkwardly help out when needed, and with the addition of Mercedes and Rosita, "Shed Your Skin" gives Wynonna and Doc an opportunity to interact with people outside of the usual team. It's nice to see the possibility of Wynonna having a female friend outside of black badge, especially one that's self-aware that there are demons lurking around. I'm on board the WynCedes brotp. As for Rosita, how will her partnership with Doc affect his relationship with Wynonna? Could the shadowy figure be the main villain for the season? What exactly is going on with Waverly and her demon eyes? Will Dolls make a return? The mystery continues and the season is still getting starting.
