That's not how citations work
jepchamp18 November 2023
I'm a college librarian and I have always been baffled by this episode. When you write an academic paper, you cite the materials you used--journal articles, books, etc. Citations show where you got the information you refer to. You note these sources and then create your works-cited page. You don't write the whole thing and then run around looking for citations. If Sheldon and Amy were citing that Russian book, it means they had seen it and referred to it in their paper. It should not have been a surprise to them. From an academic research standpoint, the whole premise of this episode makes no sense.

The Citation Negation
bobcobb3014 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
The writers of this show are giving us a good final arc with Amy and Sheldon trying to put their stamp on the world of physics, but they need to find a way to keep viewers buying into it. Sheldon's bizarre outburst was funny, but other than that, it is not enough to keep holding up episode over episode.

The Bernadette and Howard stuff was predictably bad.

We Knew the Nobel Prize Wasn't Going to Happen

All the work done by Amy and Sheldon goes for naught. A Russian physicist had already tested the theories and realized it wouldn't work. This leads to deep depression and a lust for Thai food. Meanwhile Bernadette goes manic over a video game.

Disappointing Episode

Warning: Spoilers
I am glad this is the last season of this show...it's time has come. I do love the characters and there are a lot of times that I do get a big laugh however this episode was disappointing. Amy & Sheldon's work on Asymetry stops because they find out it was done in Russia 40 years ago...they're supposed to smart why didn't they try to disprove the 40 year old study -lazy writers, they should know better

Fortnite? Really?
julienh17 November 2018
Okay, so this is a new low, even for the insanely low standard of season 12. Bernadette tries to torture and humiliate Howard for the 1.000th time for no reason whatsoever, Sheldon and Amy prove that they can't do proper research before writing an important theory, Raj and Howard are playing Fortnite in a desperate attempt to reel in any younger viewers.

Now the real question is: Who the hell cares about any of that? Nobody. There's no point to any storyline in this episode. It's just a filler episode to stretch out the season and to (failingly) hide the fact that the writer (I'm assuming it's just one, everyone else must have fled the set) is just plain out of ideas.

And the worst part is, we can feel that the actor's don't give a damn about their characters anymore, they just read the script and don't put a single thought into how their original character would behave. There's nothing convincing about Sheldon's sudden outburst, Amy is as comforting as a dead fish, Bernadette is as mean as ever, and the comic book store girl delivers a horrible performance trying to teach Fortnite to Bernadette like a drill sergeant.

I have to be honest, this is the worst episode yet and it deserves a crushing -5 out of 10.

Why is it okay for Bernadette to tell Howard that she earns more than him?
laportillo17 November 2018
I used to be a viewer at the beginning, the show was really good, but it then it became stale, I honestly haven't seen the show in years, yet because it's the last season, I watched on 11-15-18. What husband wants to hear a wife saying that she makes more than him? It's not funny! What if during an argument a husband tells the same to his wife? Do you think it's funny?

Laugh cancellation
m-gesing19 November 2018
I haven't laughed even once. They should really cancel this show after they cancelled the joy of watching it. Its been a great journey throughout all the seasons but the longer Big Gang Theory is produced the more mediocre it becomes. It no longer has its special vibe and brilliance of dialogues. Its all gone, like 2 or 3 seasons ago.

Job done, excitement gone

Just another average, or sub average episode of season 12 - and average is relative to season 12, not complete serial. After 3 weeks I actually don't remember almost nothing. There was same lame twist about possible super great discovery.

Well, I think that I invented basic idea for 1 episode. That includes singularity, inventing, discovering something, big bang - yes, ideal for final ep. of serial :-) No, I don't want this to be finished, and ep. 10 of season 12 was really good. I want more, that's why I offer my idea, which is actually online, in 1 forum signature. Surely, this serial is far less popular than in beginning and some 3 years ago, but could last for another 5 seasons with some fresh blood. Surely actors are important factor too, but I would watch it even if Jim Parson will leave and something really fresh and good comes instead. Yeah, I may be biggest fan of this serial, and I'm a nerd. Look all those my reviews here ... All this was in my head 3 weeks ago, but after this ep. somehow was not motivated to put on paper, pardon IMDB. Ep. 10 made me to do it .
