An extraordinary horror movie in just three minutes! 'Marduk: The Mark of the Beast' exhibits the creative talents of its Director, Cinematographer and Writer Jarno Lee Vinsencius. The story revolves around a cursed flute, which may lure demons once it is played. Marduk could have been like any other ordinary horror movie, but it has become an extraordinary movie with unexpected twists and an open ending, because of the director's skill; and all these happen in just three minutes! Regarding the visual treatment, the opening shot is composed so beautifully that it looks like a million dollar Hollywood shot. Jarno Lee, being the cinematographer, has made challenging decisions to light all the scenes in the warehouse with the minimum set of lights to get that spooky look. The art department has done their best in choosing color palettes (especially in the poker scene). The color grading too, has helped achieve a somewhat Hollywood look in most of the scenes. The actors have done a great job with their 'natural' acting. All of them (Demis Tzivis, Christine Singbrant, Asko Päiviö, Lee Ljungberg and Oliver Lopez) have performed well in this movie, and I personally like Christine Singbrant's performance. Editing of the movie also needs mention. The editing talent is revealed from the very first scene and it makes the movie plunge directly into the subject, and helps in adding tension and suspense. We have also got top notch BGM and sound here. Overall, 'Marduk: The Mark of the Beast' is a must watch movie for aspiring filmmakers!
