Fantastic

This is a quick review for the entire series really. If you ever seen any of Shiraishi's works and enjoy them, this whole series is a must. They are definitely goofier but god, they are fun. They take themselves seriously the entire time, even with the shoestring budget. It's quite amazing actually. It all culminates into a wonderful little finale that ties it all up in a neat little bow.

One thing I wish this series had is a wider appeal and proper translations. It's hard enough trying to find this, but if you do it's so worth it. I recommend watching with friends. Would be great if Shiraish uploaded this somewhere publicly, or maybe that ads to the allure... Either way just watch it.

Worst Movie
gmzn-8760227 August 2022
I don't recommend anyone to watching this movie. Because this movie is very poor quality of the story.

It's one of the worst movies I've ever watch. The stars are not good at acting and they are very stiff. In terms of taking it is also not interesting to see.

It may be better to do casting with a quality agency to get a star who can play the role naturally.

Using big stars is very important to make these movies worth watching because usually they will bring a lively atmosphere in a movie with new stars. And try not to use the initial idea of a film with a similar title.

That's my review of this film hopefully it can be useful for the next filming.

Koji Shiraishi strikes again

Senritsu Kaiki Kowasugi File 01: Operation Capture the Slit-Mouthed Woman (2012)

Phew, what a mouthful of a title. 😅

This is another one of found footage enthusiast Koji Shiraishi's more-than-creepy mockumentaries. It met my expectations (which were reasonably high!) and even exceeded them a bit.

It's very similar to Noroi in style, well-made and pretty interesting all along. Even if Shiraishi doesn't have a big budget for his features, he still makes them work fine in that low-key atmospheric way. This first film in the series revolves around the Kuchisake-onna phenomenon and fleshes it out a bit, just enough for you to remain intrigued but never over-explaining its subject. It's also got some real creepy moments throughout.

I'm definitely continuing with the series and really looking forward to it after such a strong start.
