Trying way to hard

The camera work is amazing in this movie, and the supporting cast is great. The movie just feels like it is trying too hard to be like Wes Anderson. The idea behind the story is intriguing but it never got where it felt like it wanted to go.

Not an accurate portrait of the south. A Wes Anderson wannabe

I agree with the review that begins with the initial question: "how did this movie get made?" How did they get a cast like this, but more importantly how did they fail to utilize them at all? There is no third act. The film looks slick, but if you want a Wes Anderson film go watch a Wes Anderson film. I appreciate the originality of the director, but the movie feels like it was not completed. Rather the producers ran out of time or resources.

Waste of 90mins

How did this movie get made? Is this movie serious or a parody?

Its as if we only watched half the movie. The acting at some points was laughably bad, mostly by the main lead who was so bland.

One of the worst of 2020 so far.

Need a Wes Anderson Style Movie? Look Here

What happens within the walls of an incredibly rich 'old south' family's house? What happens beneath all the pomp and circumstance that is shown outwardly to the world?

If you like Wes Anderson's style of filming, you'll love this movie. Simply put: it's a dark comedy with an incredible soundtrack.

Without spoilers, the film is about how life can be held stagnant by those who feel lost, and how holding life for too long can affect your world. Furthermore, it's about love, loss, and how an old southern family deals with these concepts at home. A truly genius film due to its unique storyline and Wes Anderson-esque filming style.

No, the acting is not what you'd get from Anderson, there are no recognizable names (for me at least), but they all do an incredible job in this film. It has its weaknesses, for instance sometimes the camera seemed to be blurry, but that can be written off either as the director experimenting with a different style of shot or the quirkiness of the entire film.

I'd truly say, give it a shot! Especially if you're missing Wes Anderson during this time before his new film comes out.
