At SDCC in 2017, the cast were asked what their favorite scene to film was. Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday) answered that his was the kitchen scene with Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp), with Wynonna almost telling him, he might not be the father of her baby. That moment also included Doc touching Wynonna's belly. As Melanie herself was actually pregnant, when his hand was on her stomach, he actually felt a kick for the first time. That experience occurred when their characters locked eyes for that brief moment before Doc left the room.
Bass Reeves, the deputy that comes for Doc and that Dolls is so excited to meet, was a real deputy of the Old West. He was the first black man to serve as a deputy US Marshal west of the Mississippi, and was said to have nearly 3000 arrests. There is also speculation that the Lone Ranger is based on him.
Doc touching Wynonna's stomach was an improvised moment thought up by Tim Rozon, who plays Doc Holliday.
