Francesco Pazzi's leg injury came from his own dagger as he struck at Guiliano with a fury.
Sandro Botticelli's "Venus and Mars" did not burn in the Pazzi riots. It is safely displayed in the National Gallery in London to this day. It is still considered one of the greatest masterpieces of the Renaissance. While some historians debate Giuliano de Medici's involvement, most agree that he was in fact the model for Mars.
Guiliano was already dead by the time he hit the floor. A crowd of supporters whisked Lorenzo away from the new sacristy and shielded him and his party from seeing Guiliano's body.
Jacapo Pazzi's assignment was to ride through the city calling the city to revolt against the Medici. When it became obvious that there was no sentiment to revolt, he quickly rode out of town and was captured three days later. He was hung shortly there after.
