All is not well over in hell…and Netflix
TV Line reports that Lucifer season 6 may not move forward due to a pay dispute between star Tom Ellis and studio Warner Bros. TV.
Ellis is reportedly still under contract for a sixth season of the show but both he and Warner Bros. have engaged in talks about a pay raise. Now those talks have broken down with one TV Line source reporting ominously “Everyone wants Tom to be happy. But there’s a limit, and it’s been reached.” Contract and pay disputes sometimes happen behind closed doors in the television industry. But this one has reached a boiling point that threatens Lucifer’s future.
Suffice it to say, the star of a show that bears his character’s name is likely to have a lot of leverage in contract negotiations. The issue for Ellis, and Lucifer fans at large,...

While the upcoming fifth season of Lucifer was believed to be its last, Netflix is reportedly in talks to conjure a sixth season after all.
Lucifer might be on the verge of pulling off yet another (we daresay) miraculous reprisal, this time from its long-planned imminent final season on Netflix. Yes, folks, Lucifer Season 6 appears to be a thing that might happen!
While Lucifer has spent the last year touting – by way of social media – the bittersweet process of planning and filming what was to be a fifth and final season, it appears that the show’s current home, Netflix, is looking to make a literal deal with the devil for a prospective sixth season, with a report from TV Line revealing that talks are underway between the streaming giant and Warner Bros. Good Omens went down a storm when it arrived on Amazon at the end of May, and social media hasn’t let it go since. The apocalyptic comedy-drama has gained a flourishing fandom that’s desperate for more from Aziraphale the angel and Crowley the demon. However, with the six-episode TV series completing the adaptation of the original novel from Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, it doesn’t seem like there’s anything more on the horizon.
If another season were to happen, though, Michael Sheen would be happy to return. The actor played one half of the heavenly/hellish double act at the center of the show alongside David Tennant and has said that, providing Tennant comes back and Gaiman returns as showrunner, he’d sign up for more.

The deal is described as being a massive financial commitment from Netflix and represents potentially the largest dollar amount that DC Entertainment has ever received for a TV series. Legendary adult-oriented DC imprint, Vertigo Comics, will close down by January 2020.
The iconic comics imprint that brought readers The Sandman, Preacher, Hellblazer, Fables, Y: The Last Man, and others will close its doors in 2020. According to THR, DC Comics plans to shutter Vertigo Comics, as well as young adult imprints DC Zoom and DC Ink, starting in January.
Replacing them will be three, age-specific imprints: DC Kids for ages 8-12, DC for 13 and up, and the adult-oriented DC Black Label for readers 17 and older. Series currently running under DC Zoom, Ink, and Vertigo will be integrated into these new imprints. This means that series like Sandman Universe, which expands the world of the Vertigo's most famous character, may live on under Black Label. The production processes behind cinematic adaptations of Neil Gaiman’s work are something of a mixed bag; sometimes you’ll end up with a smooth behind-the-scenes experience, with films like “Coraline” and “Stardust” that remain classic and aren’t overshadowed by any production drama.
On the other hand, sometimes you’ll get an uncomfortably public spectacle. For example, the endless development of “The Sandman,” with constantly departing directors, writers, and stars has taken over the public perception of the project, as has the non-stop creative drama of “American Gods,” which has had an onslaught of very public replacements despite a stellar first season.

Gaiman said that Cumberbatch’s Prince of Darkness will be “a giant, animated Satan” who appears “400 foot high.” The “Sherlock” star will appear in episode 6 of the series, which debuts on May 31.

While Sony’s Spider-Man spinoff plans are already grandiose, it seems that the Sinister Six team-up movie is still happening.

As the outpouring of online tributes to the late Stan Lee continue, this period of collective mourning has inevitably seen its share of conflict, much of it stemming from a controversial blog post written by Real Time host Bill Maher.
In this well-circulated piece, the comedian and political commentator used the renowned writer’s recent passing as a jumping-off point for a blanket criticism of comic book culture in general, arguing that comics represent an unimportant and juvenile art form that doesn’t deserve to be taken seriously.
Naturally, the fan backlash came hard and fast, and among these condemnations was a tweet from Neil Gaiman, a writer perhaps best known for his comic book series The Sandman.
The author’s short message dismisses the controversial piece as a cry for attention before observing how Lee’s legacy and popularity overshadow Maher’s.

Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have some great matches to cover, so let’s do so.
WWE Match Ratings Out Of 5: Raw: Sasha Banks, Bayley & Natalya versus The Riott Squad – 3.5 Apollo Crews versus Jinder Mahal – 2 Aop versus Seth Rollins (Handicap Match For The Raw World Tag Team Championship) – 2.5 Elias versus Dolph Ziggler – 2 Nia Jax versus Ember Moon – 2.5 Bobby Lashley versus Finn Bálor – 2.5 Drew McIntyre versus Kurt Angle – 2.5
Final Raw Verdict: 2.5 out of 5 – On a night when Kurt Angle looked better than the guy put over, Raw proved that even when it does things right, it will likely get the rest wrong. Seth Rollins losing the titles in a Handicap Match was a bad idea that Rollins made work, but it just sets him up for another dull feud with Dean Ambrose. Having Nia and...

The resurrected series Lucifer will be bringing along a new angel as it leaps over to Netflix: Vinessa Vidotto has been added to Season 4’s ensemble in the recurring role of Remiel.
The role description calls Remiel a “classic little-sister” character who admires her eldest brother, the mighty Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), but also feels under-appreciated or overshadowed while struggling to match his towering standards. Remiel idolizes her big brother but dealing with the self-righteous alpha-dog of angels isn’t always easy.
Lucifer is based on characters from The Sandman series and its spinoff, Lucifer, both milestone works published by DC Comics under the Vertigo Imprint. The comics were the work of Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. In those source material comics, Remiel is portrayed quite differently — the angel is a blond male with the exasperation of a sour bureaucrat — and appears only a handful of times the over years.

It’s time to return to the Dreaming with Wednesday's launch of The Sandman Universe from DC’s Vertigo imprint.
The one-shot serves as an introduction to four new ongoing series set in the universe of Neil Gaiman’s famed series, and as a celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Sandman and the 25th anniversary of the launch of Vertigo — the imprint that gave us titles like Preacher, Y: The Last Man, Hellblazer, and Fables. While neither the one-shot nor the following series are written by Gaiman, they are overseen by him, guided as though he were the Lord of Dreams himself. The ...

Metal is one of those “event comics” that, even as a more casual reader of DC’s particular brand of comics, was hard to ignore. The bombastic nature of the marketing, the sheer aduklation poured upon the book by fans and critics alike all made Metal a must read. And so to Dark Nights: Metal – Deluxe Edition, a new hardback collection of the core Metal storyline from the creative team of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo.
The official synopsis reads thus: “The Dark Knight has uncovered one of the lost mysteries of the universe…one that could destroy the very fabric of the DC Universe! The dark corners of reality that have never been seen till now! The Dark Multiverse is revealed in all its devastating danger–and the threats it contains are coming for the DC Universe!

Some books are “about” something obvious and clear — maybe because they’re genre entertainments, maybe because the author has Something To Say and is going to say it loudly. Maybe because the author is all about clarity, maybe because it’s a screed. Maybe maybe maybe.
But some books are about everything and nothing. They don’t tell you how to understand them — they might not tell you enough to understand them. That doesn’t necessarily make them better — or worse. It might just mean that they’re easier books to argue about.
Dave McKean’s big graphic novel Cages would be excellent to argue about: it’s long and meaty and visually inventive in a dozen different ways and about Art in several different forms and full of events and elements that are either unexplained or explained in a way our world would call insane.
The plot is loose and wandering,...

Starring Richie Acevedo, Rosanna Nelson, Rene Dupree and Juilio Fernandez – with an appearance by Ecw legend The Sandman, Wrestle Massacre combines two of my great loves: wrestling and slasher movies! The film comes from writer/director Brad Twigg, whose previous films include segments in the just-released Grindsploitation Trilogy and last years Killer Campout.

Longing for a sense of belonging with grandiose dreams of becoming a wrestling superstar, Randy is only met with abject humiliation and alienation. Donned in wrestling gear and armed with homicidal rage, Randy sets out on a blood soaked rampage to punish those who wronged him. It's hard to believe that it's been 30 years since Neil Gaiman launched the Sandman comic series at DC Comics. Gaiman stopped writing Sandman stories about three years ago but he's ready to jump back into the world of Sandman as he is going to expand the universe in four new comic spinoff series that he is overseeing for DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint.
Sandman followed the character Dream, who is both the personification, as well as the lord over all dreams and stories. Over the course of his stories, he has tangled with gods, monsters, and humans. Entertainment Weekly reveals that the new series will kick off this August with The Sandman Universe one-shot special. That special will catch readers up on what’s been happening in Dream’s realm. The report goes on to fill us in on some details of that, saying:
The most salient fact is that Dream has now gone missing,...
