Some bad, some good
daniel-smits-0317915 June 2020
The series is definitely going downhill, but it's still somewhat enjoyable.

The worst part is the role of Torvi that solely exists to give the shows creator's daughter a job. She acts so bad, but still has a way too big role in the series.

The good part was that Ubbe is looking more and more like Ragnar. He acts like him, he talks like him and he's starting to look very much like the old Ragnar we know. Love to see this for this character.

Warning: Spoilers
So much build up and hype for this episode and after all we just see people in a circle of fire and a fat annoying man speaking loudly and ruining this stupid scene . How old is lagertha ? I mean after this seasons could she even fight for a second ? By far the best storyline Is the one with ivar in it i mean the look on his face when he saw what Oleg has done that's just so good.

Good

It suprizes me that some ppl cant understand how olof knew about bjorn coming and see it as plot hole. If u didnt understand then u apperantly watch the show by not paying attantion to anything. King Harald never sent those two men to bjorn for help. They were king olafs men trying to lure bjorn out and attack him.

Its not the best viking episode but its still decent. There are some ppl rating episode after episode 1-4/10. If u hate the show so much why u still bother to watch? No life i guess and nothinng better to do.

Brotherhood and Friendship

Warning: Spoilers
Oleg imprisons Dir and treats him like a dog, disturbing Ivar. Bjorn travels to rescue Harold and leaves his children with Lagherta and Ubbe in command of Kattegat. The alcoholic Hvitserk is troubled by visions of Thora. When Lagherta's neighbors are raped by the outlaws under the command of White Hair, she decides to retrieve her buried sword. Bjorn and his men swim to Vestfold but they have a deadly surprise and is forced to retreat.

"Ghosts, Gods and Running Dogs" is another great episode of the Sixth Season of "Vikings". Ivar seems to have finds someone more cruel than him and is impressed with the vision of Dir. Lagherta will certainly fight again this time against the attacker of her village. And Bjorn learns the consequences of his decision to help Harald. My vote is eight.

We are the Vikings !

Nice episode, there were many events in the episode, but I didn't like the cutting between the events, because that does not leave us a room to watch comfortably. ! But of course I'm still excited for the next episodes ^

Problems, issues and soap operas
joggingonafaultline3 March 2022
This has almost become parody. We have a pseudo-buddha, Lagertha, oh-so-wise crone, a poor portrayal of alcoholism in a young man with PTSD and, all the silliness of Game of Thrones (the TV version). As if Bjorn and crew would not know a trap after all their decades of experience and I don't just mean their ability to smell suspicious chemicals. Honestly. Why do those in charge of what start off being such promising viewing, once finding their financial footed egos, end up destroying their creations?

In other words, all pretty young women have designs on being queen. All men are ponderous and stupid, whilst at the same time cunning enough to have plans that their minions gladly carry out. It's damned silly to the point of one of the later main characters bearing a disturbing resemblance to televisions GOT's Jamie, another his diminutive brother and, this has gone on long enough.

Good episode, editing lacks something

Warning: Spoilers
The episode is good, interesting, intriguing. The end was a real cliff hanger. I have a problem with the fact that the women didn't seem too sad they were violated and their children killed. Also, the way that scene, the part where Lagertha finds the body is edited, isn't the best. The camera needed to stay on Lagertha longer before going to black, to really show the anger and motivation in her.

Absolute wreck of an episode
Jhonnydoe12312 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This season, and this episode more so took too much liberties with its settings.

The plot is cliche and foreseen instantly, Bjorn exiles a couple of criminals into the countryside, and surprise surprise Lagertha decides to live in the countryside plus buries her sword. Then on this episode suddenly a band of *only* women come asking for Lagertha's help foreshadowing a sort of women only society.

The show continues to depict adultery, cuckoldry as if it was a common practice among Pagans and Christians alike, when we all know the societies of the time had a mind of their own with such barren adultery, marriages often ended in divorce even on suspicion or rumors of ones infidelity. I could go on into the details of historical practice among Christians and Pagans alike, but suffice to say what the show depicts is implausible.

The ending of the episode shows Bjorn making way to attack Olaf's city by swimming to the city. We are just supposed to take for granted that Bjorn's troops have no issue swimming in cold water, in chainmail and gambeson, and that Olaf just happened to know his strategy. The final absurdity was Olaf's use of Greek fire to trap Bjorn's troops in the water, it seems that Olaf has better alchemists than the Eastern Roman empire!

Apart from the plot holes, the show also suffers inconsistency in its environment setting due to a politically correct fetish, African women it seems were personal retainers of some backwater viking countries lords such as Olaf's. The women of the Rus it seems were predominantly Middle Eastern/Indian.

The redeeming factor of this episode exactly, is the return of King Harald, plot is finally progressing.

Womanpower
goruvsn17 December 2019
Viking's women were always a good, equal fighters and travellers. They could fight pregnant, we saw it earlier. So, this #womanpower inclusion I found disgusting. You don't need search for equality, or make offended look, when you are already equal and respected. Which was very well shown in first seasons. In fact, this scene even diminishes viking's woman role.

Rushed
dnunn-615031 July 2023
By this time the show has lost all identity and character. The involvement of the rus is pointless because there isnt enough time to integrate the characters so they feel completely erelevent and just rushed.

Definitely should of left it as Bjorn being king.

Watching this episode is like watching half a season in a time sense because it completely skips in time without corresponding to the actual time flow of the film.

This season in general is completely unnecessary rushed and all the characters have been stripped of their character.

One of my favourite shows ever has just been obliterated.
