Boss Baby is back in action. The animated infant will star in the series “The Boss Baby: Back in the Crib” for Netflix, the streamer announced Thursday with a first look image.
The new DreamWorks Animation show, which is set to debut on May 19, is a followup to “The Boss Baby: Back in Business,” which ran for four seasons on Netflix from 2018-2020.
The new series follows the events of last summer’s feature film “The Boss Baby: Family Business.” In this case, Theodore Templeton (voiced by Jp Karliak) is framed for embezzlement and forced to revert back to his old Boss Baby self and crash with his brother Tim and his two nieces, brainy big kid Tabitha Ariana Greenblatt and fellow Baby Corp employee Tina (Mary Farber).

Move aside, “Loki.” There’s a new king of streaming television viewership in town… this week, anyway.
Netflix premiered the third season of its “Virgin River” romantic-drama series July 9 and the show’s latest batch of episodes drew in over 1.4 million viewers in its premiere week, according to the latest report from Nielsen. The show toppled Disney+’s “Loki,” which had been leading Nielsen’s reports for several weeks; “Loki” was the second-most viewed show of the week, with 1.08 million viewers.
The viewership success of “Virgin River,” which boasts 30 episodes between its three seasons, is all the more impressive given the timing of its Season 3 premiere. Nielsen’s report was based on viewership from July 5 to July 11, which means that “Virgin River” Season 3 was only out for three days yet still managed to attract more viewers than its contemporaries. Nielsen’s report only factored five of the six episodes in...

More than a half-billion dollars in box office can’t be wrong — can it? When Tom McGrath’s smash hit “The Boss Baby” made $528 million worldwide in spring 2017, the natural response was Well, when can we make more? No worries that McGrath’s film already stretched out award-winning author Marla Frazee’s picture book into feature length or that it ended with a pretty tidy conclusion in which eponymous boss baby, voiced by Alec Baldwin, decides to become a regular, non-boss baby. The world wants more Boss Baby; why should logic deny them?
By 2018, Netlix had rolled out its answer: television series “The Boss Baby: Back in Business,” which didn’t just stretch out a picture book into nearly two hours like its predecessor, but which somehow managed to craft a gobsmacking four seasons of material from what was essentially that film’s post-script. Now, McGrath’s Universal movie “The Boss Baby: Family Business...

Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber took home multiple awards, as did actress Millie Bobby Brown, at Saturday night’s Kids’ Choice Awards hosted by Kenan Thompson.

“The Crown” and “The Queen’s Gambit” have been engaged in a right old royal rumble in the viewership charts.
For the week of Nov. 16, the drama about the royal family easily checkmated Beth Harmon and co. for the first time, rocketing into first place in Nielsen’s Top 10 SVOD programs list.
“The Crown” was watched for a total of around 3.4 billion minutes that week across its 40 episodes (although presumably the vast majority of those minutes were spent on Princess Diana and Prince Charles’ tumultuous marriage in season 4), whereas “Queen’s Gambit” scored just over 1 billion minutes of viewing time.
Anya-Taylor Joy’s fantastic performance had helped keep the chess series in the number 1 spot for several week straight.
The rest of the top 10 looks very similar to the week prior, with the only new addition being “The Boss Baby: Back in Business” which plotted its way in at number 9.

The Crown, whose latest season offers a provocative look at the meeting and matrimony of Prince Charles and Lady Diana in the 1980s, dominated Nielsen’s U.S. streaming chart for the week of November 16.
The show’s 40 available episodes racked up almost 3.4 billion minutes of viewing, the best Nielsen showing of any title since The Umbrella Academy last August. Two-thirds of that view time was devoted to Season 4, with viewing rocketing from a fifth-place showing in the previous week’s rankings, which captured only its first weekend online. The next most-viewed Crown season was the first one, the measurement firm noted.
Nielsen’s top 10 (see it in full below) tracks only streaming through a TV set in the U.S., so mobile and international viewing is excluded. The numbers also come with a nearly month-long lag time, by arrangement with the handful of streamers whose viewing is measured.

Though we’re now beginning to see life starting to return to at least some sense of normality, a lot of people are still spending much more time at home than usual thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, and that probably won’t change for a while yet. As such, streaming services are more popular than ever now and thankfully, all of the major players have been delivering the goods when it comes to adding new content.
Of course, Netflix are still the leaders and each and every month they bring us a healthy helping of fresh material that ensures subscribers are kept entertained at all times. Admittedly, the summer was more fruitful in terms of new releases, but there are still a lot of great titles coming down the pipeline as we head into the fall and today, the streaming giant have revealed their November lineup, which you can check out below.

Viacom’s deal to acquire AwesomenessTV, officially announced July 27, has an enterprise value worth at least $50 million, sources familiar with the deal told Variety.
One of the factors affecting the valuation: The agreement does not include DreamWorksTV, the YouTube kids’ entertainment channel Awesomeness launched four years ago, which will be retained by NBCUniversal.
But even excluding DreamWorksTV, it seemed as if Viacom nabbed Awesomeness for a steal. When Verizon paid about $159 million to acquire its stake in AwesomenessTV in 2016, that implied a $650 million valuation. That was double Awesomeness’ implied value when Hearst invested in the company in 2014.
However, sources said, DreamWorks Animation and Dwa’s subsequent owner, NBCUniversal, never internally valued the Awesomeness business on the basis of those investments. (Comcast/NBCU picked up the majority ownership of Awesomeness with the $3.8 billion acquisition of DreamWorks Animation.) Moreover, the bulk of the money that came from Verizon and Hearst was used...
