It's the end of the road.
The V.C. Andrews Casteel Family drama comes to a close with Web of Dreams, the final installment of the series.
The latest addition took us back to the beginning to meet the woman at the heart of the VanVoreen Casteel Tatterton Stonewall family tree of snarled limbs and dark leaves.
It was actually good. After our exclusive interview with Jennifer Laporte, it seemed as though Web of Dreams would have a different tone from the others.
Finally, we met and followed Leigh VanVoreen Casteel's journey from a young daddy's girl with her whole life ahead of her to a young woman who beat odds and met a bittersweet end.

It's what we were waiting for after Heaven and Annie got too sidetracked to delve into Leigh's history.

The Casteel Series from V.C. Andrews comes to an end on Saturday, August 24.
If you've been following along, you know that in all four movies that preceded Web of Dreams airing this Saturday, was the presence of Leigh VanVoreen, Heaven's mother, and grandmother to Annie.
We had a chance to catch up with Jennifer Laporte, who brings Leigh to life in Web of Dreams. She's read the books and watched the movies, so you don't want to miss this conversation with the young woman who plays the girl that started it all.
So What was your knowledge of V.C. Andrews and the Casteel family dramas before you got involved with Web of Dreams?
My knowledge of V.C. Andrews was just a little limited to Flowers in the Attic, of course. I think that's the novel and film that most people are most aware of when it comes to V.

Annie, are you Ok? Are you Ok, Annie?!
Just kidding, Annie Stonewall Tatterton is fine; unlike her mom, she got her man in the end. Technically, it wasn't incest, so it's Ok, you guys!
The fourth installment of the Casteel saga said goodbye to Heaven and brought her equally as hoo-ha motivated inbred daughter, Annie, to the forefront.
Annie is truly her mother's child. She has that Vanvoreen all-consuming fire Jillian drunkenly prattled on about. She has a one-track mind, and that focus is on the D, one in particular.
Her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.

Of course, in this case, it was primarily her not-brother and her grandfather, but at infancy, the doctor should have smacked her on the ass and called her a Vanvoreen woman. She has their je ne sais quoi.

Who is more cursed? The Casteel Vanvoreen Tatterton clan or us for having to witness all that befalls them?
Has there been a family marred by this much tragedy outside of the Kennedys?
The Casteel saga continued with the third installment, Fallen Hearts, and it was no less batshit crazy than the first two. If you, like I, have made it through these movies, it's more than can be said for the majority of Heaven's family.
These stories come with a body count, and Heaven has inadvertently contributed to it.
Heaven Leigh Casteel VanVoreen Tatterton Stonewall is the worst.

She was a nuisance for the first two movies, and it was passed off as her being young and naive. However, this time, she wasn't either. She was a self-righteous, petty asshole.
She racked up a lot of offenses, and...

Amazon fantasy series Carnival Row will star Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, showcasing topical themes.
Amazon fantasy series Carnival Row is an ambitiously fantastical eight-episode small screen event, set to hit Amazon Prime this August.
Starring Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne, Carnival Row is set against the fantasy backdrop of a neo-Victorian city filled with mythical creatures, Delevingne will play Vignette Stonemoss, described as “a faerish refugee” who endures human prejudice aimed specifically at her kind.
However, she also possesses secrets that could prove crucial to the story, which will clearly tout its timely-topical nature. Events will lead Vignette into the orbit of Bloom's police detective Rycroft Philostrate, who is investigating the murder of a faerish showgirl.
