Diary of a Demon 2: Very poor sequel
Diary of a Demon (2014) hardly impressed me and amassed a whole 3/10 in my review so no surprise I went into this expecting the worst.
The franchise is hyper low budget obscure and are basically student films but to the first movies credit it actually had its moments. It had a couple of interesting ideas and a few tense segments
With most of the same cast from the first they tried something new here, namely a wrap around and a connected story that pops up in between the other parts.
Again it's a found footage anthology with all the usual tropes but these guys still seem to think having sound effects on found footage makes sense. It really really really doesn't, enough already.
Sadly the tense moments and good ideas simply can't be found here and it has nothing going for it like the first film managed (Barely). The stories are garbage, the whole thing looks terrible and I struggled to make it through this time.
Nothing is explained, demons? aliens? What in the blue hell is going on and more to the point why should I care?
2/3 down, let's see what the final chapter brings to the table.
The Good:
Nothing springs to mind
The Bad:
Sound effects over found footage is still dumb
Cringe inducing sfx
Whole thing is just bafflingly random
Things I Learnt From This Movie:
I really need to break free from this "Got to watch the whole franchise" thing. The Witchcraft movies nearly killed me!!!
