- An oppressed woman discovers a new sense of self when she gets her first job as a cleaning woman in a shopping mall.
- Panayiota gets for the first time a job as a cleaner in an attempt to support her family. While at her work environment she faces a ruthless system of exploitation, she spends the happiest period of her so far dull life. But this is not to last for long as the first layoffs are to arrive soon.
- Pushing forty, Panayota, a devoted wife and doting mother-of-two, finds herself with her back to the wall when, for the first time in her life, she has to find a job to support her family. Against the backdrop of perpetual socio-economic crisis, and with her chronically unemployed husband unable, or unwilling, to lend a hand, greatly underqualified Panayota manages to land a job as a mall cleaner and experiences the mixed emotions of late self-emancipation. Now, even though fresh starts can be challenging, and choosing to turn a blind eye to what is happening is not always the best policy, Panayota is more than happy to work her fingers to the bone for peanuts, feeling, for the first time in a long while, useful, and above all, appreciated. However, liberty and empowerment come at a price. Will things ever be the same again?—Nick Riganas
